  • best is to first train your forearm and then begin your biceps, it makes it easier when you are a beginner, because training forearm is the easiest and very comfortable, you relax and also do effective workout that you will enjoy when you feel the pump. Forearm is VERY important, not only biceps. Triceps is also very very important as it will help you through building your biceps and will make it easier

  • @LordDrakull2 my forearms grow without training them. some bodybuilders dont train forearms when yo udo hammer curls it does your forearms. not everyone ahs to train them.

    i find biceps so hard to work cause all you can really do to hit em hard is curling and its so repetative

  • @harryharryharold I used to think that too, but i tried some different things. I do a heavy back workout with about 3 or 4 exercises, then hit my biceps immediately after. I only do a few sets of heavy curling, then some drop sets or supersets at the very end to get a nice pump. You shouldn't need a ton of curling to grow biceps, especially after doing a back workout. Just hit them good and hard.

  • @harryharryharold find the weight you can lift only 1 time (doing bicep with it) and then cut half of the weight and begin there, it works if you want to take it slow

  • @Sigtyr haha yer but thats only one gym and it turns out to be about 50 miles from my house which wouldnt be too bad if petrol wasnt the price of gold and the roads congested to death. generally gyms is US are miles better and more equipped than ones in the UK. The first gym i went to had about 10 machines and a rack of dumbells up to 40 kg lol.

  • @UkPR0 when i used to train in the gym my shoulders never got a pump and neither did chest or back. only when i started doing pullups and pushups did i get a pump. best pump i get are in the triceps. but now i cant do anything cuz my collar bone and shoulder is messed up. if it gets better ima stick to calesthenics cuz it gave me my best gains.

  • Straight bar does place added pressure on the joints, but, it does hot in a different angle of the bicep muscle.

  • Hench, how long did it take you to get to where you are now? I've been doing solidly for 4 months now with breaks on the weekend due to rugby (From uk :D ) how many sets would someone of your nature typically do in a day at the gym? I'm eating well which is the main thing plenty of meats, eggs, brocolli, drinking lots of water and training hard everyday without fail, im using a protein powder called mutant mass is there anything thats would particularly well for you in terms of gaining weight?

  • intersting how he starts with preachers, I've always been told to start with bigger movements such as barbell curls etc. and end with more concentrated movements

  • Dorian Yates used to do a similar thing, isolating the muscle to begin with means you have to work harder with the compound movements later, therefore cheating slightly with barbell curls later on in the workout will still train biceps hard

  • i tighten my wrist straps reaallllllly tight when i use the straight bar but i try to stick with the EZ but i dont let the bar all the way down, i keep tension on the bi's the entire time.

  • Not always true. I've experienced no pain or discomfort over the years using the straight bar. Matter of fact a cambered curl bar is a complete waste of time for me and doesn't stimulate the biceps as well. Again, that's for me. One thing you have to factor in is everyone's arm length and bone structure is different.

  • Those of you reading this NEVER do curls with the straight bar ALWAYS use the EZ curl bar or you will fuck up your wrists.

  • maybe, but when ur strong like this guy it doesnt matter as much. besides he eats well and the juice he takes helps his muscles recover faster. So his body is well fueled

  • heavy weight yes,however for example : some who does 40kg 3x10 normal lifting.....and someone who does 30kg 3x10 explode up and lower the weight slowly as you can.....that person with the lighter weight will gain more mass than the guy with the big ego wanting yo life heavy.....that is a proven fact.

  • A helluva workout Peter for 2 weeks out!! Impressive, definitely putting in your time and work. If someone can't grow from that workout they're outta luck!!

    Good job on the Straight Bar Preacher Curls, you're one of the few guys I've seen that go 100% full range of motion.

  • hey ben, i hear what ur sayin about people not goin full range of motion...but on preacher curls, ive seen far too many elbow injuries to know that you probably shouldnt go down to full range on preachers. to each his own.
