Slayer was a killer fucking band then!!! Old Slayer from "Show no Mercy" "Hell Awaits " and "Reign in Blood " era is the Best! It's too bad that most of the great Thrash bands of the 80s and some awesome Death bands of early 90s are not so destroyer like they used to be , you know ,Hypocrisy was a great band until Osculum Obscenum but then it changed and i don't like its recent albums, i feel the same about Exodus, i don't need to say how great was that band, but now it sucks !

I prefer when bands dont change music style, there is no reason for them to. There is plenty of other bands to play different genres. contrary to what your say, unfortunately slayer have soften their thrash side and become more groovey over the years. If anything, I regret metallica softening the thrash side to play more rock pop oriented music. In a weird way, you are thankful for that.

His name is Tom Araya. He is the same singer now as then. His vocals have changed over time of course. I liked his delivery much more then with the high screeching as compared to now.
