I discovered this piece years ago on a compilation called "Ambient"...thrift shop find. I will forever remember it as being listened to during an all night train journey down the West Coast US....the few lights going by...Mount Shasta backlight by an awesome post-sunset sky...some memories never fade...

@59simonh I'm working in the same mode, tuning my guitar to straight 5ths (Fripp in this era tuned his guitar strings GDaebd or d#, mine is f#). There's something about tuning the guitar in all 5ths that inherently evokes an ethereal sound, the chords are naturally 6ths, 10ths, 11ths ... the arpeggiation patterns are more open, some std chords harder to reach. Trey Gunn & Tony Levin are touch/tap players ( Warr Guitar & Chapman Stick) in Fripp's circle of alternative method guitarists....

@59simonh I'm working in the same mode, tuning my guitar to straight 5ths (Fripp in this era tuned his guitar strings GDaebd or d#, mine is f#). There's something about tuning the guitar in all 5ths that inherently evokes an ethereal sound, the chords are naturally 6ths, 10ths, 11ths ... the arpeggiation patterns are more open, some std chords harder to reach. Trey Gunn & Tony Levin are touch/tap players ( Warr Guitar & Chapman Stick) in Fripp's circle of alternative method guitarists....
