It is SEVERAL DIFFERENT BREEDS OF DOGS COMBINED TOGETHER TO CREATE THAT NUMBER. Contrary to what you think "pit bull" is NOT a breed, it is a TERM used to describe SEVERAL DIFFERENT BREEDS OF DOGS. So that is 98 fatalities over 20 YEARS!!! OUT OF MILLIONS AND MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF DOGS. Add all of the retriever breeds together.

Still, these breeds are all related in some way aren't they. So the breed in general is responsible for these deaths. Lump all retrievers together and you would still have very low numbers, nothing close to 98 fatalities. Fact is supporters always try and get off the issue, which is Deaths!!

Assuming there are ten breeds that are lumped as "pit bull type dogs" who killed 98 people over 20 years. (if you read the article it says that often times one dog killed multiple people so that is less than 98 dogs) but divide 98 by twenty and that is 4.9 deaths a year cont.

Pit Bulls where bred for pit fights with dogs, specifically bred 2 kill other dogs when trained, however the breed was not inherently violent, in other words they needed 2 be made mean or evil if u will, most people raise there pits 2 be mean for guard or fight purposes, however when u make an animal mean u must restrain it or it WILL attack people Labradors are not as physically threatening so there rarely used the same.

It's 2012 about time to regulate these dangerous breeds. Anyone that is opposed to this is obviously a gangsta or trailer part trash. If you really love this incredibly UGLY breed, you would want only qualified owners and breeders for it. Background checks for buyers would cut out a hell of a lot of trash that buys these dogs. @southkoreaeatsdogs 1: "pitbull" isn't a breed of dog so It doesn't matter what description they have. It is a category describing over 30 breeds of dog. There is a breed called the American Pit Bull Terrier, but these are far from that.
2: Blue nose, Red nose, Blue, blue brindle, etc. aren't breeds or even types. They are nothing more than a description of that particular dog.
