  • es ist göttlich

  • i love it!!! no comment!!!

  • too slow for dancing the Argentine tango but it's good!!

  • @betsybee152 piazolla is not tango, is "Música contemporánea de Buenos Aires". And also, it's not composed to be danced.

  • @rotterdamgifts Hey, Piazzolla gave that name to his music ironically, because old school tango folks didn't wanted to acknowledge Piazolla's music. In reality this is tango, "nuevo tango", as Piazzolla named it later, and here in Argentina a lot of dancers dance to this. Cheers

  • Way to go........................!!

  • Piazzolla...sei GRANDE!!!! :-)

  • this is so cool

  • That was simply beautiful!

  • simplemente hermoso!!!!

  • verrryyy nice way to kill the passion and flames of tango...

  • I was looking for this with less passion and more love.

    Finally I got it.

  • stop criticizing.. music can be played at any beat! Take some joint n listen to the melody n u will soon see yrself flying high in the air looking down at earth!

  • Totally boring. No passion, no emotion.

  • Beautiful but no passion there.

  • No está en el tiempo correcto.

  • Very beautiful, thanks for posting! Another version that is worth listening to is Evgeny Suvorkin in Leiden; also very good. You can find him on YouTube when searching at:

    Leiden Evgeny Suvorkin Libertango

  • 24 people totally missed the "Like" button o3o

  • I love it! It's mesmerizing.

  • this isn't LIBETANGO BY PIAZZOLLA.......sounds so slow & there are no accents.....real Libertango musy be aggressive, with lot's of accents, ......sorry, but didn't like it.:(......!

  • does anyone know where to get this arrangement?? i must play with my orchestra!!!! Pleeaaaase Help! Thanks very much!

  • brillant

  • Very beautiful sound, but a tango is supposed to be more angular music. This interpretation sounds too smooth, there's no fiery spark to it. Still beautiful nonetheless

  • Its a good interpetation, but it must be little bit faster and more powerful at the end of the phrases.

  • nicely done :)

  • Go Maestro Kang !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @QuinoDark haha

  • Gorgeous interpretation!

  • Really loving the velvet tones of the strings in this version of a great tango

  • es hermoso!!!!!!!!

  • BEATIFUL,BELLO.HERMOZO.

  • is verry wonderfull .i have a dream with my way .is my life libertango .

  • Beautifull, but a bit too slow I belive. I mean, could you dance this as a tango?

  • Wonderful perfomence from the goegeous Symphonic Orchestra that ever been see before....Amazing!!

  • I think this performance is one of the best perfomances of the libertango on the youtube!! BRAVO!!!!

  • BRAVO

  • For those of you who like a taste of the classical.....this tango, Libertango is very welled performed by the Korean Symphony ......i really loved it. Tango can be played in different styles as many other musical genres......Tango is a very passionate music, but in this way.....was very well mastered....i really liked it.

  • bellissimoooooooooo !

  • Go! if you have put the bass on the bottom and there behind the drums to the right. Rare choice but not bad.

  • Comment removed

  • Obviously, it's a very different interpretation - but why not?

    And it is VERY beautiful,

  • i love the raw passion of the original but this is still awesome. 5 stars

  • I love music...

  • Absolutely the BEST and most passionate interpretation of this tune. Beautiful. Thank you for the unpload, much appreciated indeed.

  • i don't understand why there're so many negative comments lol. it's just less a different way to perform this song. you shouldn't just interprete this song in one perspective lol

  • fantastic

  • Korean Schmalz, wonderful.

  • fabulous, wonderful, ASTOR you are alive for us. I love to ALEJANDRO ALDONZA's versio of BALADA PARA MI MUERTE

  • I don't care what others say, I really like this interpretation of Libertango. They give it a new feel to it. It is not bad, it is just different. Everyone to their own taste. Thank you for the upload. :)

  • Awful arrangenment. Castrated music. What have they done to Astor?

  • @johannislots That's wat music is about, putting your very own feel to it. So this actually is great. If everyone would just play music as it was written, then music would not be what is is now.

  • what arrangement is this? I like the one better from the armenian national symphony or whatever.

  • Beautiful!

  • @WildStarvingWolf can you put the link where i can find such interpretation?

  • beautiful interpretation

  • The best thing in music is precisely the fact, that you can not only PLAY it, but PLAY WITH it... create again what u think should stay the same...this performance is the same Piazzolla's libertango, but it´s so different at the same time... new performance, new feelings...just awesome!!!!

  • this is very smooth and polished version.

    nice and thanks.

  • woah! increible interpretacion!

  • ti amo agerntina¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • @magicpuol te amo argentina? lol

  • Incredible.

  • this is a very soothing interpretation.. try it with weed or hash n it sounds so cool like u r flying about in a clear blue sky

  • classical music is awesome on marihuana.....

  • ¡¡¡¡ bellisima interpretacion !!!!

  • regardless what others say about..being "tango" or not..i'm just going to enjoy n listen this beautiful piece happily . Music is universal..=D

  • wow! this is an abosolutely beautiful interpretation of this piece. it's not what i'm used to hearing from this piece but i loved this, espeically the ending. fantastic!.

  • ..man i wanna speak italian

  • interesting orchestra seating arrangement...

  • It's absolutely beautiful. Too beautiful in fact, almost tame - compared to the big band interpretation.

  • Fantastico!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fantastic!

  • i'm used to hearing the faster staccato interpretation, but this still holds its own. smooth and sophisticated - bravo!

  • To the people that say the amatuars can't tell musicians how to do their job, thats easy for us to say as musicians. But when you play for the masses, you have to go by what they say. If they say, "you suck, you don't know what you're doing" you have to play it differntly. IHMO, at least.

  • depends on the music and the crowd. Music like this doesn't usually doesn't attract the "Linkin Park crowd" as it were. And audiences who attend concerts like these aren't the type to yell boo. They would find a performance perhaps lacking, or the arrangement to be poor.

But your argument is true, pro musicians play for mostly non-musicians, and it is their tastes and needs (musically) that need to be entertained.

  • Not the Libertango I love, but an interesting new take on it.

  • Beautiful!!!

  • AR-GEN-TI-NA!!!!!!!!

  • even though this is a tango piece...

i personally think it would sound funny

to play fast and to play in staccato.

This orchestra arrangment sounds grand and beautiful

  • libertango shouldn't be acted/played like that way. it is too slow and therefore contradicted with its passion

  • They just used the legato style, it's still sounds good.

  • Where's the fire? !!! .... this sounds very beautiful, but it's supposed to be a very passionate and aggressive piece. I wanted to hear the violins bleed. This sounds way too classical. (still beautiful though)

  • ????? It's an orchestra, not a disco...

  • I know ..... I happen to be a music composer and arranger - so I come from a classical training. This is supposed to be a "Tango" if you didn't know. It's an argentinian type of music from "Buenos Aires" which is supposed to be incredibly aggressive. It's a more modern type of style ... not classical at all. Good luck with your next critique.

  • It's not like changes in interpretation are forbidden, WildStarvingWolf. It's one thing to dislike the interpretation, but it shouldn't be fettered to any canon with people saying how it "should" be played. I'm sure they're aware that it's normally a fast, aggressive song, they've just chosen to do it differently.

  • @WildStarvingWolf i want about 100 violins playing at the same time with passion and aggression. Unfortunately i can't find any for this piece !! i've been looking everywhere for about an hour now !!

  • @WildStarvingWolf I agree completely, there isn't that underlying drive of the tango.

  • @WildStarvingWolf I think the fire is started by the celestial sounding violins around 1:45, then gets out of control and grows as the orchestra takes its louder and louder until they reach 2:16. From there its just passion suddenly met by breath carried out by the clarinets and winds, which is soon met with passion from the orchestra to bring it to an end. MOLTO BELLA! LOVED IT!

  • @WildStarvingWolf i can play violin, viola, cello, double bass professionally, it would sound WAY better if the violin 1 did the harmony violin 2 did the accompaniment to the harmony, viola did accompaniment to the melody, cellos did the melody, and the double bass did the bass line.

  • @WildStarvingWolf I agree with you. It's like a tenor singing Billy Jean...

  • VEry nice.....

  • Conductor is doing some Karate conducting there--it is interesting to watch.

  • its hard to find a good decent one. but this one sounds sweet too. i would appericaite if anyone can find a cello solo for me. please. please.

  • Where can I find this arrangement for Strings Only? Please assist.

I would like to perform with my orchestra.

  • Yeah, I've been reading through a few comments and it kinda pisses me off to see a bunch of clueless amateurs (though I am one myself) accusing professionals of not knowing what they're doing. They apparently think it's easy to play in the Korean Symphony Orchestra.

It's not tango, sure. But technicalities - because if there is one thing I detest it's technicalities - aside, what these people did resulted in an excellent performance.

  • I agree w/you. We amateurs CAN have an opinion, but certainly we can´t state or say that professionals like them do not know how to do their job. They are professionals, we aren´t. Please get that little detail inside your head.

  • very good

  • idk....seems to lagato for a tango...

  • reminds of Slavonic danse

  • its slower

  • Nice =)

  • Lol at this, it doesn't sound like tango, too legato, it takes away the tension of the rhythm. (123-123-12, which the bass does). Its more gentle without stressing the rhythms.

Its an interesting take on it, but I don't think they -get- the tango. I say learn the rules before breaking them.

  • Astor Piazzolla was called the "killer of tango" back when he entered the scene; the rhythm he used was completely different from the tango before it, so if it's tango or not is subjective.

But I do agree it's too gentle. Still it's really good.

  • I agree with you completely. As a resident in Argentina, the origins of tango and this song as well, i have to say that the true taste of tango isn't displayed with this performance.

  • It's funny to hear from some random person on youtube accusing trained professionals of not understanding their own job.

Tango or not, it was really good. That's the point of music, no? to sound good.

  • this version is very soothing.. its a very slow but so comforting to the ears.. its more for listening than for dancing!!

  • Mali joon please share this video clip with Steve. Thanks

  • its to legato its not very good and im korean so im kinda of ashamed T_T

  • its kinda slower than its supposed to be, right?

  • They could be an interpretive orchestra...

  • It's not Libertango, becose no tempo, but sound is beautiful

  • it sounds beautiful, and it may sound like the tempo i a little slow... but if you hear this song in a really fast tempo it just sounds...horrible ...to be honest.

the orchestra makes it sound... well... bigger and very beautifil...

  • shouldn't there be a solo cello?

  • Only in Yo-yo ma's version (well, he's a cellist). The original had a cello but it didn't have a solo; the bandoneon gathered most of the attention.

  • refreshing interpretation...

  • This also reminded me the Korean drama Beethoven Virus!!!

I LOVE this slow and sad version....

It kinda brings back memories of the Kangmae and Rumi couple... *tears*

But, I can definitely imagine Kangmae conducting this version, too! Especially, that part at the end...Firm and strong... :D

  • I can't believe all the negative comments about this gorgeous performance. Of course this sounds less brassy and sqeeky since it's all string instruments. It's every bit Tango with the grace of classical tone.

  • @kyoungae2007 It's not all strings though. Listen carefully, you can hear oboes and clarinets in the background.

  • This version is too slow, this music will be better if they accelerate a bit

  • I know how tango should be even though it was great performance, perhaps it could have been more tango like...lots of tango feeling....being very critical perhaps?

  • adding accents u mean

  • yess .. tahat´s too smooth for a tango..

  • It's quite nice that they haven't tried to replicate it like you expected them too (that's boring and predictable sometimes).

It's cool that this orchestra brings in a new dimension and that they used the music to create a different feel.

    .

This string orchestra played beautifully and was well conducted

  • but that´s just no tango..

  • yer, that is true... but hey, there's nothing better than the original!

  • amazing!

  • this scene reminds me of the kdrama Beethoven Virus! Koreans are great lovers of music -- very impressive!

  • It's an interesting version, but I prefer the versions of Beethoven Virus or Yo Yo Ma, or even Bond.

  • I am Korean, and I have every respect for KSO, but with all honesty I don't think it was a Libertango, let alone like any tango. I guess to play true tango you would really need to know and be able to feel where it comes from, the expression and the tempo, all the rest of it. That goes the same for any kind of music I guess

  • I like it..its interesting

  • didn't think this was boring... it's quite good. another good interpretation of the tune.

  • ooooh, i perform tis song for my sch :D my cca is ensemble :D

  • too slurry :O isn't it suppose to be more like shorter for note

  • uhh... this is kind of slow for a tango. but good none the less

Should check out yo yo ma or Beetoven Virus (korean show) take on this song

  • i agree - it's not bad -- i enjoyed the kdrama beethoven virus!

  • ofmg, stfu soccerrun.

i'd like to see you do that.

  • really well played

    awesome!

    lacking some edge tho..

  • thats as classical it comes

  • previous comment directed at poster poh who said that koreans (or "these people") don't know what Argentina is.

  • suggested to play faster..

    *Maestro Asyahari*

  • Explêndido!

  • like it..... ;D

  • Slow, but I like it.

  • it's obviously the conductor's interpretation of the song for an orchestra.

  • This piece can be arranged in several ways and can be played by an orchestra. that doesn't matter.

  • I find your comments quite offensive. You're implying that Asians know less than you do just because they're from a whole other continent. Just because Asians aren't white doesn't mean they're stupid or backwards.

sir, do you know all the countries in the world?

    you idiot.

  • I believe what he was trying to say by "they have no idea"is that being from opposite side of the earth, it must be hard to rightly perform argentinian music, but NOT implying they´re stupid or antything. I believe it sure IS hard to play music from other places, as from other times too, and its both ways! as ivm sure it will not bne easty to argentinians to play korean music. But with love for the music and study it CAN be done!! dont you think?

  • they could play this speed in the rehearsal but not at the actual performance.

  • agreed its far too slow and it lacks dynamics...it..just doesnt sound quite right

  • bravi

  • it's ok, I think it should have more dynamics and power if it's going to go about a classical approach, it is lacking some serious dynamics..

  • Libertango with a serious hangover! Lame, very lame, painful to listen to, and what's that stomping-the-foot refrain? Blasphemous interpretation of the masterwork! Off with the conductor's baton!!

  • Hey does anyone know where to get this sheet?

  • Tango tango tango

  • this is incredible.....

  • Hmm....Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too slow.
