  • Yo dude, awesome lesson, and I almost got it. The thing I'm not quite getting yet is the very subtle timing, especially on that highest bend. Any tips on achieving that subtle sense of timing?

  • COOL! Thanks for paste this - you're spot on !

  • Nice lesson, best I have seen so far.....his guitar is tuned down a half step, so if you are going to play this in normal E tuning just move everything one fret higher on the fretboard.

  • 1 or 2 spots in there i couldnt nail, until i came across this. thanx

  • mate that is perfect, so many dudes post shit that they make up themselves and it wastes time, this is a brilliant video although you need to go slightly slower when you are going slow? if that makes sense, just had a look at your Holy Wars solo.....just piss off ya god! ...cheers buddy

  • A terrific lesson. Thank you. I've found the tab for the song, but seeing you play it is a great addition.

  • GREAT job! You should do some open mics and post them online.

  • damn man SPOT ON! and you got a freakin nice axe by the way too

  • Fantastic, I love the slow motion, helps a lot! Thanks bro!

  • IN THE KEY OF B FLAT?

    I'm hoping that's a typo.

  • @Nothingtearsthebeast

Because its tuned down a half step

  • @rkmusicnow

Right. My bad. I thought you meant the guitar's tuning.

  • @Nothingtearsthebeast

With the guitar tuned to Eb as I am, the song is in Bb because the 7th position is no longer B, the pitch is down a half step to Bb. sorry if that was confusing.

  • @Nothingtearsthebeast lol u fool

  • this is great what you are doing first of all jimi changes mood every day so the kids must be greatfull you took your time to show them how to do this one and dont forget once you got it rolling blues comes from the heart and every thing is there to grab but you must know your skills thats all so be good to this guy ok thank you rkmusicnow

  • @blackdude57

Thanks for the compliment and wise words

  • @rkmusicnow . when i first heard jimi playing red house I thought he was the best shit that ever happened but after that i came to know about the older guys like BB king Muddy Waters Albert king and the older guys like howling wolf and so . and thats where jimi got all his licks from > what he did was electrify it to an extent that nobody could ever compare to only imitate cuz he had done it all . the only thing he didnt do was shredding i suppose but machine gun has some hints on that

  • 0:55 starts the slowed down lesson

  • soulful, perfect but not as an insult :)

  • favorite song right now!!!

  • awesome tunes, awesome dudes and awesome Hendrix, could it be better?

  • good one dude!cheers

  • perfect

  • For everyone complaining about no tabs, stop. Tabs will not help you at all in the long run. When I first started I only used tabs instead of learning scales and theory and I pretty much wasted two years of guitar playing. Tabs set you back and don't actually teach you anything. Learn by ear an learn the scales. It's not fun at first but it's more than worth it in the end

  • thank you

  • A most excellent lesson That's what I would call, 'nailed'! Why would anyone piss & moan when a great player like this gives out some obviously hard-earned secrets for free? For fucking free! Christ, people, get some ears, play this over a few times and WORK for it! It don't ever come easy but once you get it, you've got it and nobody can take it from you.

Ear training is lost on the 'give-it-to-me-now' generation.

  • great tone man! sweet bends :) the man would be proud!

  • hey dude what is the name of that guitar i know its a strat but like what custom

  • I have to get an Orange shirt like that.

  • Thank you so much for this lesson, played this solo and a couple of other Jimi solo's to demonstrate the dimarzio 69' pickups today at a guitar shop! :)

And you are the reason i could nail this! :)

  • thanks its great

  • @1984catlow I always wonder why people do not use their eyes... I will give you a hint: First 16 seconds of the video...

  • @GibsonRocker1958 suck a fat one bell end no one is impressed

  • @1984catlow Attack is always the best defence eh? :)

  • Faa, no sabia si era veterana la guitarra!!!

  • thanks great!!! very helpful!!!

  • That intro is on point!! I've been trying forever to nail that. Thanks dude!!!!

  • @TheKratos1234 if you need the actual notes , you're not experienced enough to play Hendrix yet. x)

  • Excellent , played like a pro. I should master this intro in about 6 months.

  • dam strait been looking so long for a lesson on red house thx dude

  • thanks its about time somebody post this solo.

  • Very well played

  • soy de Argentina, no entiendo un pomo del ingles tecnico para la musica, pero esta muy bien enseñado y si tenes un poquito de oido no te cuesta casi nada

  • @TheKratos1234 go download yourself guitar pro and get the tabs and follow along, you idiot. quit complaining

  • This is a very good lesson. I am all for new guitarists learning Hendrix and any of the other greats....but I'm not for people leaving rude comments b/c there are no tabs. Tablature has spawned a generation of guitar morons, that DO NOT know their instrument. If you can't watch what he's doing and find the riffs by ear...plus he even tells you it's a Major Pentatonic run at one point....then you have no business trying to learn Hendrix at this juncture. Go get some lessons!

  • @SlugLifeProphet Ironic because musically, Jimi Hendrix was illiterate to music.

  • @TheKratos1234 Any half decent musician could figure out the notes by ear. seeing him play it is just a confirmation. I guess you suck. Stop hating and practice you fucking bitch

  • to all the people complaining about not showing the notes... you want to see it in music notation? You would be clueless... Go find a tab somewhere else... And practice for a few years before you think you can play this just by knowing what frets to play... Go do some finger exercises... This is a good lesson with the slow motion.. everyones lessons should be more like this guys. thanks for the upload!

  • i pretty much second roosters comment below there. brilliant lesson, perfect having it broken down, phrase at time slow enough to hear and see what your playing. still gotta have decent technique to play this, but this really helped . thanks

  • Dude, just excellent stuff, very nice, it all flows well, this style of presentation works very well for people like me, with a few chops already under their hands, even so it will take me a few sessions to pick it up and then lots of practice to make it clean as you've presented it here. Thanks!!

  • You're great, man... But you lose all credibility by wearing that shirt... sorry :)

  • Really good lesson but hard to follow without knowing and being able to see all the frets that your playing on.

  • Like.. :)

  • the best lesson for this song on the net! thank you

  • Thanks, Ry!!

These video lessons really help augment the 1:1 lessons!!

I wonder if the G, B and E strings would show up better on a blonde necked guitar...with some of the angles/lighting, you sometimes have to look pretty closely to see which string you're playing.

    Keep up the GREAT work!!

And...a video lesson on "The Sky Is Crying" would be awesome!! :)
