@CkEOdimen Actually, I've been using kettlebells for about 6 years, performing movements like this. I'm 40, a full time farmer, and I get along just fine. No significant back injuries, in fact, when I need to toss square bales I do it with less difficulty because I'm used ROM.
Take a .5 or 1 pood kettlebell - do about 25 on each side and see where you feel it in the morning :)
But seriously - any cross-chop movement like that is going to be obliques. Anything that high overhead is going to be abs and shoulders. Adding the halo extends the ab work and adds some lats / shoulders for stability.
i cant really tell what weight of kettlebell he's using. i have never done much with kettlebell how much would be a good weight to start out with on this particular exercise??
I know, your back twisting, what a....terrible....idea.

This looks terrible for the back twisting with weights seems like a bad idea

@tuneman555 I did it for the first time with the halo move, a 40 lbs kb. 100 rep. it's the next morning and it feels like shoulders, back and abs.

@pcorn915 - That's why people like kettlebells so much...most of the movements use a lot of muscle groups.

start at a low number...say 10 or 20 lbs...if it's too easy after 10-12 reps, then increase until you can't do make it at those reps.
