  • im 10 and i deadlift that 12x's is that good? lol fucking idiots with their ages and how much they lift. who fuckn cares!!!

  • you know thats how much i weigh

    115kg

  • I would like to see you doing 10 reps with the same weight, and going down as low as you can. STRETCH! stretch..

  • nice lift ive never tried doing a RDL , and btw 115 to tell u the truth is pretty bad for 1 rep lol im 14 and i deadlift 235 but maybe if u weigh realy light that could be ok

  • ya that is 115kg he is lifting not 115 pounds. 115kg is equal to about 245-4 pounds so what he is lifting isn't light so quit giving giving out about how much this guy is lifting

  • im 14. and i can just dead lift 115...but only for 1 rep... and all i wanted to know is is that good for my age??? im sorry if i sound like a cock but... i just want to know.

    thanks :)

  • it's ok. though depends how big you are..

  • i always think people should lower the weight slightly slower than lifting it. and when you are in the up position, you should take a breath or two for such an advanced compound exercise.

so did you feel a pump in the lats after these? I know I do.

  • Looks like you were moving rather fast in my opinion. Great form though.

  • He's probably utilizing the RDL for working on the second pull of the clean.

  • I don't believe that locking the knees is good for them in any case! I believe you only need to take the bar down as far as the knee with your back maintaining a lordotic aspect throughout as the man in the video appears to demonstrate! I'm curious as to why such heavyweight was used? I can understand a heavy weight for the standard Deadlift!

  • powerlifters have to train all kinds of styles of deadlifts and do all kinds of lifts to train for powerlifting competition. Bodybuilders can use lighter weights and pump up the muscles.

  • why would a bodybuilder use lighter weight? If he can do 10 reps then he is working within the ideal ranges of muscular hypertrophy, which is what most bodybuilders are aiming for.

People forget that bodybuilders can be strong as hell too... maybe most don't squat 1000lbs or bench 700, but having huge muscles will mean you are strong to some degree.

  • It makes sense to handle heavy loads in the RDL since it is a great supplementary movement for regular deads. When doing regular deads, some people have difficulty lowering the bar to the floor without bruising the knees. The RDL will quickly teach you how to properly (and safely) lower the bar to the floor when doing heavy deads. Plus it doesn't seem to have as taxing an effect on the CNS like deads. So it is a great year-round tool to attain progress on regular deads.

  • yeah...i have that problem cause i have quite long legs ;P

  • isnt that an RDL?

  • Yeah, it's an RDL. I changed the title from Stiff-legged to Romanian.

  • In my book this is a Stiff leg dl, with a twist(i.e. you bend knees very slightly).

Romanian deadlift is when you bend knees more.

In other words Romanian deadlift is like doing a regular deadlift(with less knee bending) but instead of landing the bar on the floor between reps you lower it until halfway between your knees and the floor.

I've watched another vid of yours where you "deadlift", but what you do is basically a sumo deadlift, which in many ways is like squatting.

  • Also, romanian and stiff legged both hit the hamstrings, but the stiff legged challenge the lower back as well, while romanian dl's target the entire posterior chain(hams and glutes).

Anyway, keep up the good work!

  • nice, but then whats the difference between this and an RDL?

  • Very nice form

  • ur legs arnt totally stiff are they/?? theres still a slight bend at the knees right???

  • Yes, you're right. There is a minimal bend at the knees. That way I can get maximum effect on my hamstrings
