  • It's sick to read the comments here from people defending the police's sadistic actions. What is it that causes Americans, particularly white Americans, to try to justify any egregious actions by police? Apparently, a lot of white Americans think that it's okay for police to hospitalize, maim, or kill someone for any reason or non-reason whatsoever. Right-wing members of my own family have told me that police killing even innocent people makes them feel safer. Sick fuckers.

  • @colibri1 there the reason why police brutality still happens.they defend the pigs too much.rednecks these days.

  • this just proves once again that the left isn't as peaceful and nonviolent as they like to pretend they are.

  • the world can see their cowardness.... what an embarrassment to america- men using brute violence against women in public. COWARD, LOSERS ! THIS KIND OF THING HAPPENS TO MINORITIES ALL THE TIME !

  • Thank u laborvideo4posting this footage,goes2show how "progressive" anglos can affect in highly detremental ways the work of people of color.I urge all the staff@kpfa weather of color or not,2begin filming anything&everything that goes on within the walls of the station.I love the fact that Amy Goodman has begun2record the visual aspect of her show.I often donate$2Hardknock Radio.Lois u r a typical pekawoo, if u were ever suspected of being a racist,ur actions just proved it!

  • An organization of supposedly enlightened people like KPFA have no business calling the cops because they know how cops are and exactly what they'll do.

  • doesn't matter where you live, old bill turn up and tell you to leave a building, then you leave. the decision to use force wouldn't be taken lightly in front of witnesses, no matter how corrupt you consider a particular police force.

I'm not saying they definitely didnt use excessive force but maybe her emotions got the better of her and she kicked up a fuss in the heat of the moment.

always two sides to every story.

  • We were walking towards Lemlems office when [Foster] stopped suddenly, Withers said. She pushed back against me forcefully so we were within an inch of each other. She was in my face, and kept yelling at me. She was yelling so loudly several people came out of their offices to see what was going on. At the time I was frightened ... I was afraid she might attack or hurt me ... She just kept getting louder and louder. I told her if she didnt stop she would have to leave.

  • The destruction / implosion of left groups is epidemic. It would be great to hear from groups and organizations that really work -- what their bylaws are, what their history is, how to get things functional again, for the community, not for the business managers. Every time I turn on KPFA it has the most bizarre music, and I am amazed any station can remain functional with so much crappy music programing. Some are great or at least interesting, DJ Sep, Davey D, the music after Dem Now . . .

  • I hope everyone reads the Berkeley Daily planet for the real facts. How can you call yourself reporters if you leave the truth out? Does everyone know she refused to leave even when the police asked her to.

  • this is BS - and I just donated $200 this time around (2nd time and way more than I was prepared to give before). I hope there's a reckoning with the manager that called the cops. Every now and then, BS like this happens at KPFA - overall, however, they remain a valuable and irreplaceable asset to the SFBay area.

  • As a member of Pacifica I find this situation upsetting. I may not support my station renewing its membership due to this.

  • the video doesn't show the arm in a sling.

  • Video sounds pretty one sided to me. I'd like to know the other sides story. Usually people don't call the police unless there is a confrontation and or turn violent.

  • where have you been? definitely not in america.not meaning to sound harsh but really. some people call the police and they never show. don't call the police and they show do a raid and its never recorded they just take $3000 in drugs and tell the family good day. that's the country i live in.

  • brovic777 stated: "Usually people don't call the police unless there is a confrontation and or turn violent"

... or unless the person calling the cops PERCEIVES someone will "turn violent." Unfortunately, this perception often stems from RACISM (i.e., "This black or brown or Asian or working class or poor person's gonna get violent.").

Also, if you've never personally experienced police terrorism (and even if you have), it's extremely arrogant to label the fear of cops as "overboard."

  • I'll spread the word, too.

  • A progressive radio station using underhanded corporate tactics towards its unpaid minority workers....TRULY DISGUSTING!!!! I'll be sure to somehow spread this through the net.
