  • THIS SONG SURELY ROCKS

  • Great guitar in this song. It was one of his first three hits released here in Australia; the other two were Come On, and Sheila, with many hits to follow. I was 13 at the time and it brings back great memories.....Thanks.

  • Actually "Moon Talk" has already been posted on youtube! Just search for Tommy Roe- "Moon Talk". Ron

  • Thanks for putting this on. I was in elementary school at the time and remember it well!!!

  • @eoj2495 - you're very welcome!

  • Do any of you Tommy Roe fans recall a b-side called "Moonwalkin'"?

  • @Mraodom1966 Maybe, I wouldn't remember unless I heard it, my dad probably had it, with all the records he had.

  • @Mraodom1966 - the song is actually titled "Moon Talk". I'm thinking of posting it onto youtube!

  • @rwells47 Thank you. Please post it and let me know when you do. I have not heard that song in over 35 years.

  • @1BlubeTube- if you are on Facebook- I have a "Fans of Tommy Roe" page there that I just started. I see that you like Tommy Roe so check it out! Ron

  • @1BlubeTube It was actually a RCA Stereo HiFi with a 20 something inch Color TV in the middle. It also had Psychadelic-Lights that flashed over the speaker-grilles when the music played.

Had a Good eye for Women TOO!

  • Hey folks, for those who are not familiar with this gentleman, he brought us teenagers in the 60s a lot of great entertainment including such hits as Sheila, Sweet Pea, Hooray For Hazel, Dizzy and my favorite, this song you're hearing now. Thanks for posting and keeping his memories continuing on!!!!

  • Hey folks for those who are not familiar with this gentleman he brought us teenagers in the 60s a lot of great songs,. Sheila, Sweet

  • great song. what are talking about.

  • Written during the time he was in England hanging out & touring with The Beatles, if I remember the story correctly. Thanx-1 of his best. Regards, The '62 Mathew St. Band (1 Man-Full Group Retro).

  • I've met several famous people.

Tommy Roe was the coolest and most down to earth.

He appreciates his fans..he spoke to us all after the concert and was in no rush.

  • 1963. Not a great year. But a nice song.

  • If you mean because of Kennedy's assassination, yes, that made it a bad year overall. But musically, 1963 was not nearly as bad as people claim it was.

  • @vinylsingleman From what I heard, a Dallas radio station (I don't know which one) was playing this record on November 22, 1963 when the news that President Kennedy, who was in town, was shot. The song was interrupted by the news of the shooting that later lead to the death of President John F. Kennedy.

  • @Jaybird1103 It was KLIF-AM in Dallas. The entire assassination, pre and post coverage including this song, is posted on here as well, the channel if you're interested is DavidVonPein1. The first song that was interrupted tho was not this one but the Chiffons' "I Have A Boyfriend." Just a bit of trivia for you.

  • @vinylsingleman '63 had, in fact, a great deal of top hits!

  • In comparison to what was about to occur the following year, 1963 was a relatively weak year. Some nice songs by the Beach Boys, Four Seasons, and Peter, Paul and Mary. But there is nothing from 1963 that I would put on a Top100 (or even 200) hits of all-time. Tommy Roe is very underappreciated. I had his greatest hits album as a kid and enjoyed all the tracks (hooray for hazel, sweat pea, etc).

  • WHAT ! How about Hello Muddah,Hello Fadduh, Harry The Hairy Ape and On Top Of Spaghetti all number ones to this guy.. LOL...

  • Who was the lady we hear at the end?

What's also funny I thought it was the Driffters doing this song in part because of her and Roe sounds different in this recording.

  • @MIKECNW Still wonder if anyone know the lady in the background.

  • What a great voice. Thank you for post.
