Just because there are two SEXES doesn't mean there are only 2 GENDERS. Gender is a state of mind, a cultural thing. Cultures encourage gender. Yes, some of it is innate, but cultures shape what it means to be a man or woman in the end. And they encourage you to repress "unmasculine" or "unfeminine" characteristics and emphasize those which are "correct" for your sex.

Most people feel fine in their gender, but a few DON'T. That's just how genetics played out in their bodies. It's not "abnormal" or anything like that. Besides, is gender REALLY so fluid? That you can only be one or the other? Why does it have to be binary? There's no scientific evidence of this, at least for mankind.

Unfortunately, according to current medical practices, people who experience significant gender dysphoria (being uncomfortable in the gender they were born into) are categorized as having a disorder. Mostly though, it society's reaction to gender non-conformity. If we weren't so rigid in our ideas of gender roles, trans people would be much less 'disordered' and much healthier psychologically. Tragically, even trans people believe the lies and internalize the transphobia they see around them.

..quite surprised that you see such open discussion on Fox. As a biologist, I can scientifically state that everybody starts as a woman. Only the testosterone in embryonic development causes an embryo developing a male identity. People that had due to whatever reasons not that flush of testosterone at the right time in their early development develop a "female" brain with female emotions. Guess the resulting personality and how you feel determines your true gender & not the bodily appearance!
