He was awarded the purple heart....After his recovery, he was sent to another ship in the aleution islands where the Japanese sunk his ship again. He survived, but didn't re enlist.
My grandparents remembered this day, my great uncle was lost on the beaches of Normandy, and now my son proudly serves the US Navy at Pearl Harbor. May we never forget those who gave their lives in the defense of this country, nor those who continue to serve.

I think the US govt (as in the President and Chief of staff) knew the attack was coming..... but Japan did attack first and Japan was a brutal aggressor in the Asian Pacific region... the bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima was justified

Pearl Harbour on Dec 7 1941 was a sham. It was all known by the US govt. and Roosevelt, as the Dutch govt. had informed them about the Japanese attack from Dutch Indonesia. The Americans knew about it, but did not do. Roosevelt and other interventionists wanted to enter the war against Japan and Germany, and just waited to seek a pretext to enter the war. Then also the Hollywood propaganda machine could be invoked against the Axis. This is the true history.

We knew it was coming- we allowed it to happen. Too bad we didnt know about the Nazi death camps. Had we known they were trying to exterminate the Jews, the US population would have backed our involvement in the war. We maybe wouldnt have needed to get attacked to get public support. Hindsight is 20/20- US involvement in WW2 was right. It was a just war- perhaps our last.

The US had all kinds of reports on the Nazi concentration camps and Auschwitz but did not bomb them. They did not accept the reports on gas chambers and millions of Jews murdered as reliable. Roosevelt wanted the war to happen. The Germans also did not know about the post-war extermination of German civilians in Eastern Europe, otherwise their fanaticism would have been much higher, I think.

Japan had factories and modern science before 1945 too. In fact, that is why the Allies attacked Germany and Japan, because they were autonomous and setting up their own empire apart from the high finance elite of the Anglo-American-French establishment. Not only because war was threatened weeks before, because the US were blocking the Panama Canal for Japanese ships of oil refineries in Japan, but also because the USA were informed by the Dutch authories in the Dutch Indies three days before Pearl Harbor. Pear Harbor was in a sense "false flag", because Roosevelt and his crew of interventionists wanted a world war.

it is still inconclusive if pearl harbour was a major intelligence fuck up or conspiracy, however the NSA released a report that said it was more likely conspiracy as the Automatic direction finders knew exactly where japanese fleet was heading before their radio silence.
it was predicted as long as 11 months before the attack and roosevelt knew that their sanctions on japan were an act of war. such is what is required for a democracy to commit to a war, as we have found out with 9/11.
