As far as I'm concerned, Mel Gibson nearly killed this movie. However, it was very useful as a source for taking high-quality clips of Redcoat soldiers for the purpose of making compilation videos.

Some of the best British Army tribute videos use clips from this movie. I wish there were more set in its time period.

Great movie. Having lived in Charleston [Charles Towne] for years, I could see about how it was 230 years ago. The location of the old shipping wharfs off of Concord Street, The Old Exchange Building, etc. I used to hunt on horseback in the wet Cyprus swamps where desperate but organized militias fought the "Greatest Army on Earth." My family did not come to America until 1903, but my wife's family was here in South Carolina then. They know their ancestor's names and grave locations.

I lived in Greenwood County, another region where the Revolution was fought when it was called Edgefield District near the old fort in the nearby town of Ninety-Six where the proud descendants of Patriots and Tories live today. I since transferred to Beaufort, just an hour or so south of you on the coast. The grave stones of Patriots, Tories and British are in the church yard of our old church.

Listening to this song and thinking about yesterday being the anniversary of 911 makes me really sad. This music seems to symbolize a nostalgic, beautiful America for me. I would like to comment on deficit spending. If you study economics, deficit spending is a method to provide jobs and dollars INTO the economy. If we had not spent all that money in the last 30 years, we would not have had our standard of living. However, when you have to pay for the defecit, it works in reverse. The only thing that really produces is, productivity. We, in America, and the rest of the world, have been living on credit, intstead of producing, except, the Chinese.
