Thank you, thank you. My mother used to sing this song so beautifully when I was a child, I am now 72 y/o and it still haunts me. We are Sepharadim by way of Turkey, so this has a lot of meaning for us. We still speak Ladino at home. Marco.
Speaking of Turkish people and Jews... I've heard a wonderful song named "Mama mia" on Francoise Atlan's "Romances sefardies" that I found very similar to the famous Tuna nehri akmam diyor. So does anyone know about a certain connection between the two or was it just my impression? Thank you!
Probably is the same song sung in turkish and ladino language. that was spoken by sephardic jews, those who lived in Spain and after went to Turkey and other countries. I can understand ladino, is very similar to spanish, and if you want to help me to find the lyrics of the turkish song I can use the google translator and compare both, because I don't understand turkish. Tell me something, I'm interested too.

What a lovely song. Francoise Atlan is a great singer. She reminds me of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

This is a Middle Age spanish song, when sephardic lived in Spain
Sephardic used this song like anthem in Auschwitz
Liric:
(bis)
