I purchased Lion through the App store, but I don't see it under purchases anymore. But when I go to the OSX Lion page on the App Store, it says I have it installed. What can I do about this?
okay only if i knew this before ,, i was holding the alt key while pressing the installed button and nothing was happen.. anyway ,.. so my lion crashed and now i see this question mark folder on the startup after the sound and it just stays there ... when i hold the alt key on startup i dont get the recovery disk option ... i dont have my snow leopard dvds .... cuz im traveling at the moment ... can we download lion on another mac using my login account ???? ... and make the dvd or thumbdrive ?
I was trying repeatedly for a while testing with both option keys when I read someone else saying somewhere that the option key didn't work for them, but the alt key did. The alt key was my saviour. So if you're having trouble and despite everyone saying the option key works for them, try the alt key! No idea why, maybe it's down to regions, but the alt key works.
Oh great! lucky you taught the option button click purchases, cos alot websites I go to they only teach about extracting DMG. they never teach about redownloading it again! thanks alot!
@jacob7ism I believe that if you want to do an upgrade, you need to have Snow Leopard installed. Not sure if you can just format and do a clean install, but you might be able to do that. And you need an Intel-based Mac.
Thank you so much for putting up this DVD. This is exactly what I was looking for...how to re-download. Thanks for the tip of hold Option key and Click. Works great for me.
@gentlefury I have heard that it should be "ten" (X). It's 10.7.x and Snow Leopard was 10.6.x. Eventually they may go to 11.x so what will it be then? OS 11? OS XI?
@HighT3chDad The build number is in fact 10....but they are so enamored with it being X...otherwise it would be OS 16! They want to hold onto that X as long as possible!
@gentlefury Well, at least they aren't doing odd things like Microsoft: windows 3.x, windows me, windows 95, windows 2001, windows nt, windows xp, windows vista...at least now it is progressing: windows 7 then windows 8. ;)
@HighT3chDad@HighT3chDad This is funny, because I am running OSX 10.7.1 via my Win7Pro Laptop via Gotomypc. My VPCF12AFM laptop has a keyboard just like the MBP, and it is running the "Mac Mini" Desktop full screen. The Mac Mini is tied to my 42" TV.
I did try the tips via this video and others, but only briefly got "Download" showing, then within 5 seconds, it switched back to "Installed". I don't see the install software anywhere on the HD.

This doesn't work on Hackintosh's this is why we save a full copy to a cd or usb and on an 8GB HDD space to re-install as many time we want!

actually OSX is a proper way to say it...why do you think they stopped at 10 as long as they have...they like X

Respond to this video... BTW, thanks for the tip! It worked great! Any idea why it has stopped working?

@gentlefury What stopped working? I just tested the Option click on the App store and I get the "Install" button.
