He achieved the strategic aim of drawing the German forces to Caen, allowing the US to break out?? Are you kidding!!! Caen was supposed to have been taken in the first few days of the campaign. Over a MONTH later, the Germans still occupied it, even though they were outnumbered and no air cover and were being bombed everyday. Next Montgomery went to the next British failure - Operation Market Garden. Not baggin on Mont, cause so many factors I wouldnt know about played a part, but this doc is BS
