  • J'aime beaucoup ce video, le cheval travaille tout seul, c'est merveilleux! Cela dénote que vous êtes un excellent dresseur.

  • Anyone else feel like they're being bitten by a mosquito?

  • is there a possibility of putting a skidding cone or sled on the logs so the horse wouldn't be stopped by stumps? seems like a lot of wasted time and pain for the horse, being suddenly stopped like that.

  • @flamedrag18 normally what we do is cut down the stumps with a saw so they aren't in the way any more. but once in a while they still seem to get hung up .

  • Wow...you can totally tell these horses are digging this work. They all look happy and healthy!

  • thats a good horse to work see how nice he put that log in the pile

  • That is so awesome, I almost can't stand it. I've got a team of small horses but videos like this inspire me to do even more. Thanks for posting.

  • There it worked! sorry 'bout the spelling - meant to say "Trying to post"

Anyway - if you're careful to get rid of every space the link will get you there anyone reading here. Now GIDDYUP!

  • Fired up a "heavy Horses" Facebook page and would love to see you there. Linked to this great video and that Belgian is gorgeous BTW.

    Come one over ...

search Facebook for the name Heavy Horses

(because it won;t let me paste the link here)

  • I tried to search for heavy horses but all they gave me was a page for musicians and the singing group Heavy Horses lol anything else I can try?? any other key words??

  • No hard hat for the horse?

  • im curious to know where in NW ontario you are working im from thunder bay myself ..also i think that is soo cool my great grandfather ran a bush camp with 200 men and horses back when people used to strip cut and pile by hand and then in the spring haul it all with horse to lake nipigon and put it on the ice.

  • we are currently just north of north bay.

  • Quite an energetic draft horse. He looks very confident and happy with his work.

  • big horse :)) ... i bethe can pull much more than that

  • This type of work has all but died out on the east coast- woods have been cut flat by heavy equipment & foreign companies- Hit & Run.

  • He's a beauty !!

  • interesting music choice!!!

  • impressive work! They know their job all right!

  • nice horsey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great video, but what terrible music for it!

  • Hello HeatherMarie.. I just thought I'd come and check out the vids you guys told me about today..

I think that is so neat.. I love watching horses..

The bugs look pretty bad out at one point in the filming..

The Horse looks like he/she love doing the work..

    Such gorgeous animals..

  • the vid is good, but the music is terrible

  • like dogs with bones

  • I would have never known...those horses look very well cared for....thank you.

  • that is pretty cool..I remember people using those horses.I have a machine that can move large logs without using fuel..come check it out..

  • the horse handler could do with a bit more experience allowing the horse to be brought to a sudden stop,@ 0.19,is very poor handling and or lacking the appropriate gear . try using a skidding grapple which will allow the butt to ride over stumps

  • Ocassionally the horses hit a stump or two but that is rare. The horses are pretty adapt at following the trail themselves. We don't usually drive the horses when they are on their way out of the bush. We find it easier and the horses then have the freedom to move at their own speed.

  • Those horses love what they are doing.

That what I call partnering. Well trained.

Whose their Daddy? Whose their Momma? Well done!

  • Takes you back to a time that most folks will never get to witness. An awesome display of the power these amazing animals have. They are the most beautiful and powerful horses on earth. Thank you SO much for this video!!

  • wow this horse obviously lives to work - beautiful to see a horse enjoying what it does and such a stunning looking example - keep up the great work!

  • Some really nice horses there! I love watching them work, there such powerful creatures! Thanks for the Video.

  • Nice horse, lousy music.
