"Anything more than the truth is too much"...Robert Frost. HRH The Duke speaks his mind, and I respect him 100% for that. Forthright, adroit and calls it as he sees it. Some call it gaffes. I call it honesty. Rock on in your 90th year, Sir! Peace & Blessings to those who hear my words. Bear.
It´s funny how some people think he is serious when he says certain things, but for your information he is just having the typical British humor! I think he is hilarious!
I didn't know about this assasination attempt on the Queen. She really does stay calm under pressure, doesn't she? I was really impressed with her courage here-she is truly one of a kind.
I'm amazed at how much Prince Philip looks EXACTLY like an older version of Prince Charles in this interview. I can't tear my eyes away-I feel like I'm looking at Prince Charles in 30 years...amazing!
People always think Prince P. is insulting when he's just trying to put one at ease-folks should lighten up!
Phillip tells it like it is... if your black your a Sambo, if your gay your a queer, if your poor your lazy, and if you die young its because you are from weak stock and only the fittest survive..
Prisons are for the poor and castles are for the rich, you don't mix sour milk with single malt whisky..
He believes in the dividing line and the greater it is between rich and poor the greater the country is..
He's absolutely right about having a common interest in sport crossing classes. My own sport of rowing has traditionally been practised by the middle and upper classes. But then you get people like Sir Steven Redgrave and Andy Holmes (RIP) who fit in with the rest perfectly.
@alliwanttosay1 yes , his persona and demeaner reflects a privilaged life of no care, worry or stress about money or paying bills. plus the best food, everytime you feel ill, you can rest, the best medicall attention, and every whim indulged. therefore we could all look like that with that infrastructure.
We all used to go down south to visit Philip, my granddad did chariot racing with him , Peter Harry Wilkins, we were always very respected around him and vice versa, but we always knew to keep our silence when Queeny walked in, wish I talked to Diana, only ever said hello from a distance. My granddad is dead now, but he had quite the royal send off..
@VigisKane isn't he wonderful! 90 and still got an amazing sense of humour. Today he was stood on the balcony at BP and having a good old joke with Prince Harry and Pippa... while the queen was composed!
Indeed, hes the Duke of Endinburgh (Scotland) and the Queens mother was Scottish.
All the men wear Kilts during the proper formal events accordingly.....
Charles being the Prince of Wales etc etc......then again its pointless most people outside the United Kingdom of Scotland and England actually understand the difference between the Isles of Great Britain and the United Kingom.....which is a country, made up of countries, including the CommonWealth Realms of Canada/Australia etc.
I really love and admire the Prince: witty, urbane, intelligent, and with wonderfully deprecating sense of humour. And what superb footage of the Queen. People talk of her smile lighting up her face...her whole face radiates goodness and fun.
All of this is what makes monarchy worthwhile. Of course its anachronistic, expensive and unreal, but the life and the world we live give us reality enough and we are all enriched by varieties of experience.

AMERICANS AND OTHERS, READ THIS:
England=England, ONE of the 4 constituent countries of the UK
United Kingdom=England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland
Great Britain=Island with England, Wales and Scotland on it
British Isles=Great Britain and the Isle of Ireland (Island with Northern Ireland and Ireland on it)
England and the UK AREN'T the same thing. It's like calling the whole of the US Texas! :L
