@MrBirdchild True, but one thing is certain, a lot of metal bands are still out there currently on tour and selling out shows. Some are even still making songs. Like metal most grunge bands also ended up sounding the same by the mid-90's. Virtually all have pretty much either self destructed or are forgotten about.
I'm not trying to start no shit either, I'm just stating fact. Metal seems to have held it's own very well through the years whereas grunge has fizzled and fallen on it's back!

@MrBirdchild True, but one thing is certain, a lot of metal bands are still out there currently on tour and selling out shows. Some are even still making songs. Like metal most grunge bands also ended up sounding the same by the mid-90's. Virtually all have pretty much either self destructed or are forgotten about.
I'm not trying to start no shit either, I'm just stating fact. Metal seems to have held it's own very well through the years whereas grunge has fizzled and fallen on it's back!

I do realize, that metal is still alive even today even with its non-coherent lyrics, while Most grunge died in the 90s. What i do not agree with it that grunge bands have been forgotten. As Nirvana, Stone temple pilots, Hole, Pearl Jam etc... Are pretty well known bands.

@MrBirdchild Sure, those are very well known bands. Yet other then the ones who are dead (like Cobain and Lane Staley) where are the rest of those grunge bands nowadays? Some music critics have gone as far as to pen grunge music as a one time "flash in the pan" due to the fact that music of decades prior to the 90's is now in high demand yet grunge seems to be sitting on the shelf perpetually collecting dust. Of course I'm sure this analogy doesnt apply everyone.

Ok well, As to answer your question were are grunge bands now a days. There touring... Holes back on tour, Pearl jam still plays as well as the Melvins, stone temple pilots are touring( I just saw them a week ago) I could most likely name more . So yes, the most famous grunge band is dead. I hope your not getting your facts off Wikipedia.....

I'm in St. Augustine, Florida and the only bands I've seen on tour in the past year were Styx, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Yes and Poison (just to name a few) yet these groups are playing all over the nation because I have a friend in Seattle who just saw Motley Crue play there a few weeks ago.
