@Virtuallyjonathan you'd be surprised how fast you get used to the filters, I have three in my bedroom and actually its hard to sleep without them now haha
pretty good looking waterfall feature but i think it might not get enough oxygen and light in the main tank so it should get replenished with 1 ltr of water for every 7 gallons per month until it stays clear. thanks nice job!
@cichlidmania26 Ah, I see. It's really strange how it never molded, though. Every kind of "waterfall" I've had in my tanks start molding after a few weeks of being set up.
if my tank wasn't in my bedroom I'd like to do something similar. I just wouldn't want to deal with the noise while I slept and would rather not turn the pump off to avoid it. looks good though!
thats one amazing tank you got there man!! where did you get that idea??? call me a copy-cat but i'll be making my own too... thanks for the idea man!! i'm glad someone is creative enough to give me such an insane but beautiful idea!!
@czoe2011 ya that's a great job. I know u would have too have some type on slots in there too control the humidty and too be able too see through the glass. But heck ya what a great idea. Build it!!!!
@czoe2011 my brain is always going. I have a lot of ideas its just the time it takes too make them all, but that popped in my head one day while I was at work and than thought about how I would do it all day. But I built it in like thirty minutes. I had it for a couple months and than tore it down. But I'm always trying new things. I have a really good idea for a tide pool kind of tank that I willl be doing soon. So look for that one. You aren't copy cating me. Send me the video when you do it.
@cichlidmania26 im planning to buy lots of rocks to make a waterfall soon enough.. this idea is what i call brilliant... though i have a question... if i put a waterfall in my tank,.. would the space for my fish be a lil bit smaller?due to piles of rocks that ill be putting to make a waterfall?
i'll be posting a vid soon after i finish mine.. goodluck!! and thanks very much
@czoe2011 Well the rocks do take up som space but also provide hiding spots. But I have an idea and that's. Somehow don't stack the rock in tank stack them on a pvc structure that spans across the tank. I'm not sure if you get that but its possible. I can't wait too see this video.
That is perfectly done. the moss look perfect and it seems everything is benefitting from the extra oxygenation and local misting from the falls. great man!
@brandon429 thanks bro. It works great. Its been over a week and the moss looks better than when I got it. I will be building a insane one pretty soon on a show tank. I'm thinking like a 2 or 3 foot rock waterfall next time. How's your vase?
its doin fine good buddy Im holding my breath through this freakin freeze no power outages or Im going to be straw-cirulating/giving mouth to mouth to it lol knock on wood
@brandon429 haha that's freaking funny. Mouth to mouth. Lol. Well that good to hear. I'm glad its still alive. Mine doing awesome. Ill post a video soon
Great idea cichlid. I think it looks Awsome. Not seen any water falls on tanks before. You Could make like a waterwall set with fake rocks/filter pump in a package to hook up on the back or side of the tanks and sell them ($100) or something like that. you will probably start a new craze off..Id buy 1. ^-^. My fish are doing good and tank is well:). i got another 5 mbunas so ill make another vid an post. Adios amigo. Or an if you don't make them i will :)...hahahah
@xCODxRDRxHALOxGAMERx pretty easy. we just stacked rock up to the top and i set one of those filters thats supose to be in the water on top of the rock it sucks water from the bottom so the filter is only sitting in the water like 3 inches and than i stacked the rock around it. i had to go out of town the next day so ill make it look better when i get back. thank bro.
Just curious, I hear cichlids can be rough on plants, did you have any issues with moss going lower and them ripping it off the rocks at all?

It's very beautiful, but the sounds would eventually drive me crazy (and send me to the bathroom every 5 minutes).

The water is a little dirty, but the waterfall is amazing! Does it ever mold from being wet all the time, though?
Pop12646Okami 3 weeks ago
@Pop12646Okami. The reason the water was dirity was because I just built it. Its part of the soil. No it never molded.

@Pop12646Okami it must because I have a dehumidifier in the room.
