I saw them a few times in '80 - '81. They were amazing, and one of the tightest live bands I've ever seen. Those were some of the best shows I've ever seen, too. Good times...
Was just playing this on Rock Band and suddenly realised... Are all the French lyrics a sly reference to the old cliché that lunatic asylums were always said to have at least one or two patients who believed they were Napoleon Bonaparte?
Just saw the Tom Tom Club in VA Beach. It was great. I was so waiting for.... "Here's a special guest.... David Byrne" Watching the Talking Heads in SMS (Stop Making Sense acronym.. yes!) makes me think they are really best live... I was not old enough to see them...But I have seen David @ Bonnaroo and now Tina and Chris... That counts right?!?!?
@XaleManix fucked if I know, I just copied that shit from wikipedia. It makes no difference what it says in the description of one little video on you tube, The whole show is amazing
@jodysutts Why is a movie about a New Wave band considered one of the greatest rock movies ever made? Not doubting that its true, but... My brain exploded in confusion, and after picking up the pieces, I had to comment and ask...
ELVIS' LEFT EYE BALL (There's the milk man parading about like he's the mail man.) Can it be ground into shit? It's my only criterion. Here comes the president of something. Can he be ground into shit? Yes, and the vice president? He too—shit. What about work men's compensation? Shit, all shit. Advanced life support? Integrated circuitry, country settings, celluloid tape & a horse brush, Elvis' left eye ball can all be rendered shit.
This is music from the greatest Graphic Designer of our time. He is Andy Warhol of my generation!! If you know art you know that!!! One of the 10 most people I want to meet!
This version sounds soo much better for some reason, maybe it's just because this is the version I grew up listening to.
