  • *facepalm*...did he think his dog would come outta the door or something?!

  • So what I would like to know is how do Christians justify this human sacrifice.

  • Comment removed

  • @firefly4f4 - it's the obvious choice, I agree. But as of right now I have a different narrator for each one.

  • @43alley Yes, I know. I was only guessing that NSC would be the narrator for the redux of THIS particular story, given his own version of it.

(I think I deleted my original comment when I was accidentally replying to it instead of this one... d'oh)

  • AWSOME! I didn't know there where super sayans in the bible!

  • Fuck I completely forgot about this story! They didn't push this one in Sunday school as much as certain other ones for some reason...

  • @TheOmegadusk Mayhap the reason is that god doesn't like women, its all over the bible, actually one of my favourite quotes ...

"The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction:jealous and proud of it; petty, unjust, unforgiving, control freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty, ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevent bully." - Dawkins

  • @TheOmegadusk "Let me go up and down the mountain and be a whore for 2 months" and "ok go ahead" dont exactly display "good christian values". =P

  • @Shyhalu Exactly! If I were her I wouldn't have come back. I guess being a moron is a family trait. ;)

  • lesson of this entire series: god probably doesn't exist, but if he does, he's an inconsiderate douchebag.

  • and I thought my father was strict ;)

  • The moral of the story before you sacrifice your daughter let her have a grope sex orgy.

    AMEN.

  • Great! I just marked my bible in both new and old testimate with MURDER and cross referenced them to each other. Thanks for the clear and documented info. And thanks for being intelligent... sadly lacking in our world! God bless... uh. I mean thanks

  • This story did catch my atention when I read The Bible. Generaly it is though that human sacrifice was ended with Abraham. But here we find a later sacrifice to Yaweh, who does not once down to stop it.

  • the Holy Ghost appeared to me last night, (or maybe it was the tooth fairy, it was too dark to tell.) anyway he told me to spread the word of Bob. Bob i said. and he said, "yes Bob, spread the word of Bob." then i said, "I'm ready, I'm ready." he said, "perfect, now spread the word." then he disappeared back into the closet. i still don't know what he meant.

oh man, that's one goofy ghost.

    peace, lardo.

  • You do realize they are the same god. I mean Jesus was Jewish. And that's from reading the bible not just interpriting it

  • You do realize the Jewish and Christian "god" are the same considering Jesus was Jewish

  • @thatwierdo78 and "God" it's written with major "G" ! Cose He's not a "god" from Olympus, he is the One and Only God from the Bible.

  • That was the jewish God.

The christian God, doesn't claim human sacrifices.

Dumb atheists, always intepreting the Bible in the way they like.

  • @BaronVonGalatz So Jesus wasn't suppose to die, or does that one not count?

  • @miniontemple So in your thick head u think that God took Jesus as a human sacrifice ??? How f**ked up is that ??? Are out of your mind ??

Jesus was God himself and he sacrified himself by it's free will for our sins.

So any point u were trying to make, it's useless !

  • @BaronVonGalatz Hey I'm fine with what you said. You just pointed out the absurdity of the entire doctrine. A god kills himself for himself as a loophole for the laws he made. Fucking brilliant god. But it was still a human sacrifice. If you were to claim he wasn't human, then he either wouldn't have suffered at all, or is just that masochistic. Either way it's a completely absurd story.

  • @miniontemple U are just like the third criminal on the cross, aren't u, little cunt ????

Better start beliving bitch, cose sooner or later, u're gonna get hurt !

    F**king atheist scum.

  • @BaronVonGalatz Thanks for threat. Jesus would be proud.

  • @BaronVonGalatz Jesus was jewish therefor making the god the same god. try reading the bible instead of listing to everything your told

  • Jephthah killed his daughter as a sacrifice because he believed in god. If you believe in god you may do things only a psychopath would do while "knowing" in your heart that you are doing good. Example, throwing acid in a woman's face because she is unveiled. Even worse, many religious people believe in cutting off pieces of babies and small children. Give up this horrible belief and leave your cult today. This is a public service announcement on behalf of future generations.

  • @jamesrobertdobbs yeah stop circumcising babies its insane

  • the holy ghost came to me last night, (or maybe it was the tooth fairy, it was dark i couldn't tell for sure.) anyway he said in a deep echoing voice. "go out and spread the word of BOB." BOB i said, he said "yes, spread the word of BOB." so i said "i'm ready, i'm ready." he said "that's perfect." then he disappeared back into the closet.. oh man, that;s one crazy ghost.

    peace, lardo.

  • THIS is an example of why I think religion is fucked up.

  • Ha hypocrisy yet again in the bible. Abraham's Sacrifice of Isaac never happened because God claims that he does not want human sacrifice like the other religions

    {Gen 22:3}

Christians are morons if they think this is even right

  • wahahaha, the daughter wanted to get fucked first before getting sacrificed? awesome! why didn't she just ask daddy to do it instead of going up the mountains for it? after all, this is the religion that condones incest.

  • That's one sick religion.

  • DBZ vibe in this one.

  • Sorry daughter but I have to kill you. Why you ask? Well I promised God that I'd kill whoever comes out to greet me after the war in order to win the war. Was I thinking of you when I made that pledge? No. I thought you idiot brother would be the first to greet me. I hate that kid.

  • @UltraComboer Why didn't "god" just say "CHILL Jephthah! - you don't need to do that!"

  • personally i think that the bible is fucked upp

  • So basically this paragon of biblical virtue was a war criminal who murdered his child then? The overwhelming impression I have of the Old Testament is that God is perfectly willing to smite people left, right and centre; but doesn't intervene to prevent thoroughly unpleasant behaviour.

  • The world wasn't worthy of men like that?... I would do very well without such people, thank you very much...

  • he promised the wrong idea. this clearly doesn't advocate human sacrafice at all. it advocates to becareful with what you say or you're gonna get into alot of trouble. in this case he said the wrong thing and promised the wrong thing

  • @christianshounen101 fail. if god didn't want the burnt human sacrifice, why didn't he just send some winged homos (angels) to stop jephthah like he apparently halted abraham?

  • @holdenbane frankly I'm not even going to answer that since you wanted to be that ridiculous in your question. read the stories for yourself carefully.

  • @christianshounen101 no, i was asking you a serious question. you are trying to say that god doesn't advocate human sacrifice, though he does nothing to stop it. sounds like an endorsement to me. i have already read the stories. you are the one foolish enough to try to defend this obscene fairy tale.

  • @holdenbane I don't think you even know where most fairytales come from in the first place. your question was really rude and disrespectful calling angels homos. Yes you did did say angels but it was purely ridiculous and very unsmart to do something like that when giving a serious question. here's a little lesson: when giving a question-a SERIOUS question you do not put in insults. you make sense of it.

  • @christianshounen101 sorry, i couldn't help myself. something about big strong men, flying around together just seems kinda homoerotic.

  • @holdenbane O_O........frankly yeah I can see what u mean XDDD

  • @christianshounen101 lmao i'm glad we can agree on that one at least XD

  • @holdenbane and you really think that this is a fairytale? Israel,Egypt, rome, the laws, Israel as a nation, its ABDUCTION etc. are all fairytales?than you obviously have read only the stufrf that makes the Bible look bad without even looking back to historical issues and also governmental ways. throughout the whole Bible this is the ONLY verse that is picked on as advocating human sacrifice even though this is far from it.

  • @christianshounen101 no, i never claimed that locations were fairy tales. i mean all the magic thrown into the stories. it's so blatantly false, you would have to have absolutely no understanding of the natural world to accept such ridiculous claims. i have looked into many of the historical claims made in the bible, but i am always disappointed by a hoax or simple misinformation. do you have anything that is actually verifiable outside of the bible? the abraham fiasco is definitely another one.

  • @holdenbane well yeah I an see what you mean :). most would accept this and not even look to history or even SCIENCE whatsoever. it's sad but true.some would even keep themselves from this world strange enough O_o

  • @holdenbane "you are trying to say that god doesn't advocate human sacrifice, though he does nothing to stop it."

so anything that he doesn't stop he advocates? that doesn't make any sense whatsoever. if you read the story carefully this man MADE the promise HIMSELF. God didn't say anything in the matter.

  • @christianshounen101 yes. you will NEVER convince anyone that he is 'all loving' if he would allow these things to happen. that is an insult to love and compassion and also to your magic sky daddy. if it was even possible for him to exist, i'm sure he would be disgusted by the way his followers paint him.

  • okay that's another controversey. and frankly I would question Jephthath rather than God. he said that he would sacrafice anything that came from his HOUSE he would sacrafice to God. he made a promise to God so that pretty much was what go him screwed. though I still question why his house rather than somewhere else.

  • Wasn't this also used with the story Hans My Hedgehog, only replace God with a hedgehog man, and replace sacrifice with marrage?

And with a version of The Frog Prince?

  • hey idiot... did you see you woman knell?... if so then you will see christ knell on the cross...how do you knell on the cross? please answer?

  • @TheHappyArab111 what the fuck are you even trying to say?

  • Here's the same story set to music.

    watch?v=Glq2H76Rm4g

  • the lesson here is , ur probably better off making a deal with satin than with god.

  • google Doe's Account.

  • I'm not surprised that Christians and Jews defend stories like this.

  • When I told this to a female christian friend of mine she said that when she read that she was just surprised he was willing to take that much of a "leap of faith" sometimes even now I get mad thinking about that.

    P.S. Fuck christianity!

  • You were looking for a moral: "Faith is good. Faith + Pride can cost you."

Here's the real argument, "How could God do/advocate such a thing?" Most Christians realize, "How can the clay say to the potter, 'How can you do such a thing?'". We trust that if we are truly clay, we don't get to decide what is good and evil." This video exists because intellectuals consider attacking other religions a waste of time. That should speak for itself. Why is our "magic" so contagious?

  • @thedotishere

But we are not clay. Clay doesn't feel pain, nor is it capable of thought. Life does not exist in inanimate objects, which nullifies the argument. This is why a sane person typically does not torture animals: we are capable of empathy. We know what it is like to feel pain, and are less inclined to inflict it on others. To suggest that some people are simply "made to suffer" is one of the most masochistic, dangerous moral arguments that a Christian attempt.

  • thats one of the most savage things i've ever heard. the bible is a hell of a lot worse than any saw movie, and a lot less 'morral' at that!

  • Christians, you know what?

You are really disgusting for worshiping this God.

I mean PERSONALLY you are really disgusting.

  • @PencilsAreAwesome They don't know what they're worshipping. Most Christians haven't read the bible and those that have, they choose to look the other way to slaughters like this.

  • @Eddii3 It's amazing that they have the time to shop for clothes and make-up, go to the clubs, watch "Friends" or "Sex in the City", but read the book divinely inspired by the creator of the universe?

No -- no time for that.

Why... it's almost like they behave like fun-loving, mate-seeking, social primates when push comes to shove.

    Inexplicable, huh?

  • LOL! Great work man, great.

  • i've written so much because i want you to know why people went through suffering, and all this evil stuff happened, but you won't hear me, and even if you do, you won't understand, your heart is hardened, and you won't change by your own will. only by YHWH 's will. you quote hebrews 11:38, but you don't understand, if you read the context, you would have seen what it means. because of the evil they did, and the torment they went through as a result they turned to god where others didn't.

  • First realize your a sinner...Believe in your heart God raised Jesus Christ from the dead, confess him as Lord, ask him to forgive your sins (repent of them), wash you in his blood, and make you his child. Read and obey the Gospel, it has the power to save your soul.

  • I say that you brought up Josephus. I decided to give him a read since you were using him to confirm your position. However, Josephus says neither conformably to the law, nor acceptably to God... did Jephthah go through with his oath. This shows Josephus thought Jephthah was not following the Scriptures and went against God's character in his rash promise.

Also, the lesson here is clearly NOT to make such oaths. Final thought: v.39 really conceals more than it reveals.

  • @Terrybob123

So you agree that he killed her? Will you please tell some other religious people in here that?

Here's my question to you ... and I contend that you don't get the meaning of my video ... what's your position on the New Testament calling him a great man and putting him in the Old Testament "Hall of Fame?"

Surely what he did was atrocious and should not be commended. Do you agree or disagree?

  • @43alley those people who were killed, enemies of YHWH, you've got to understand, that they were already condemned, they condemned themselves, they were already dead in the spirit, without hope. and to preserve the truth, horrible things had to happen, or else the word of god would have been maligned by his people being inlfuenced by them, those people were sacrificing thier children. and doing all kinds of horrible things,it had to be stopped.but jesus is the way, and by his word we won't be

  • @43alley i'm an atheist, but i sort of understand the morality of this tale. jeptha was

punished for going to war against ammon, by having to sacrifice his own daughter.

the morale of the story is "As you sow so shall you reap"

  • @dejawolf

See, I would think the moral of this story is "You will be punished for shit you didn't do."

  • @VideoMenu right, that would apply to the daughter. for jeptha the above moral would apply.

  • @Terrybob123

But Terry, God actively took part in the slaughter. He 'delivered them (his enemies) unto his hands'. It's not like God didn't want it to happen, and it's not like God "let him do" it, as you say. God is obviously an active participant in the slaughter. It's right there in black and white. God knew of the covenant and actively participated in seeing it through.

  • @Terrybob123 Yes but a good god would not help him at all, or are you saying that he is a member of the mafia? You can do what you like, so long as you make an emotional sacrifice?

  • @Alexc3217 no, not like the mafia haha. a good God would not help him at all? would a Good father help his son so he wouldn't die? but That father wouldn't let him get off without punishment. he lost his daughter because of what he did, do you have any idea how much that would hurt? out of his own foolishness, thats why jesus tells us not to make promises Matthew 5 :34-37

  • @Terrybob123 Whenever you challenge a christian they always say "You don't get it" or "You're viewing it wrong." Why is that? Why would god even let him do that then? You want bloodshed so we'll make more bloodshed? How in the world does that even make sense? Why would god cause innocent people to die? If god is just he wouldn't have let anyone kill anyone since they all would have gone to hell for murder, and from what I know god is trying to "guide" us all to heaven. How can you explain that..

  • @Terrybob123 wow, you are kinda slow there I see. Just wow.

  • @Terrybob123 dude, you didn't get the meaning. Jephthah was described as a great man the world was not worthy.

Is it great for God demanding a price, especially, a human sacrifice? Does not it prove to you Bible's corruption by Greek theology?

Joshua Evans is my close friend and my brother in faith. He was a youth Minister. Please, listen to his lecture. search his name on youtube. I guarantee you will see the truth. He tells and amazing story of how he "lost" and found the truth.

  • @gakusha76 the guy from south carolina?thats where i'm from, already heard his lectures, and almost every muslim person refers him to me. from what i see, he called himself a christian, he went to church when he was a kid, his parents were too religious for him. so he just quit calling himself a christian. just because he went to church as a kid does not mean he is educated in the faith of jesus christ. he wanted an easier way, he found it, but broad is the road that leads to destruction.

  • @Terrybob123 Listen one more time to Joshua E. and please, correct your comments. They are imprecise, so to say. Please. Or do your ear not hear the parts where he tells clearly, he was studying Bible and Christianity as a preacher and he was a youth Minister. He is not someone who left Christianity because of his parents. Be honest. Or is it that your bible tells "it is OK to lie for a greater good"? The "kid" was well educated and his non-delusional mind took him to a logical religion.

  • @gakusha76 i never heard him say he was a youth minister or preacher. and no, my bible says that lying is never acceptable. the truth sets you free, not happy lies. and i don't understand why you would call islam logical. muhhamad saw a vision of an angel that told him great things. also that jesus never was crucified, and that muhammad is the highest prophet. the bible warns of such visions by angels. you have to test and discern between spirits, muhhamad was tricked into a lie.

  • @Terrybob123 Well, here is the link: watch?v=HVbqdeNntuY (Josh being a former youth minister, by his own mouse right at the start of the lecture)

I will address each point one by one. And I am not here to persuade you into anything. All I want is the truth. Please, bear with me.

The Archangel Gabriel came to Muhammad just like he came other prophets.

Jesus himself told there will be false prophets, but only the one who glorifies his name will be the true one. And M. is not the greatest prophet.

  • @Terrybob123 for we do not distinguish among prophets saying one is better than other. All prophets are special for their people. Jesus was special to Jews. M. is special for the rest of the mankind, as there are no more prophets. Except for Jesus is expected to return.

I know Islam is logical, because:

Starting right from the concept of God. It is absolutely irrefutable by any other religious concept of God. God in Islam absolute ONE. He is not seen by anyone. He is not like anything we see.

  • @Terrybob123 Only the discovery of "Rosetta Stone" revealed the mystery of Egyptian hieroglyphs with history of over 3000 years. That is the fact. And the Koran mentions the name of the chief architect of Pharaoh at the time of Moses. Haman. "Rosetta Stone" made us able to read and find that it was true. Until the moment, Koran was criticized as being incorrect in the issue of Haman.

  • @gakusha76 ...um what is true? that all middle eastern religions have foggy similar starts.. or that its just all a bunch of BS created to control people without reaching a consensus of what the people actually think what right and wrong are?

  • @gakusha76 Islam is logical in all stories (you claim copied from Bible). With Koran, the stories corrupted or unfinished in your book are finished. Read the story of the wife and children of Abraham in the desert left alone. In Christianity, there is no ending for it. And it is questionable how such a great man as Abraham could leave his family in the desert? Read it and witness the truth. I guarantee you my dear friend, you will find "our" version 100% logical.

  • @gakusha76 M. lived his life in poverty with a single piece of coat with several patches on it. M. did not write Koran. He could not even read. As the bible says: "A book will be delivered unto a unlearned". And the angel said: "Read!" He replied "I am not learned".

Koran has only one lady's name: Mary (occurs 5 times). She is said to be the best of the women ever living on the face of the earth. Notice, not M's wife, not his daughter, not even his Mother, but a Jewish girl whom he never knew.

  • @Terrybob123 Deuteronomy 18:18 tells you of a prophet to come. And you all think it is Jesus. But I think it is M. and I have my facts to actually prove it. But it is another issue.

Islam is logical because the Koran, which Josh found so meaningful and to be the only possible book of God, is filled with wisdom and teachings M. could never know. Also there are numerous historical facts that are found only recently and M. had no chance to know them at his time. e.g. Egyptian hieroglyphs...

  • @Terrybob123

Really, Terry? The man paid the price? I guess the girl, by comparison, felt it was a day at the spa.

  • Comment removed

  • I asked someone about the violent things in the bible, and they said it all happened to save the jews so they could give rise to christianity and then we can all be saved. So they think the killings were necessary for the saving of the world.

  • @Moonbogg

....So they think the killings were necessary for the saving of the world. ....

Few thousands yrs went by and millions died in wars, diseases etc..

    Who is this GOD saving.???

  • Well... about the defence often given that it doesn't actually say he killed her - not in so many words - but it does say she 'bewailed her virginity' or some-such, hence the idea she became a nun (hence celibate, hence virgin).

Like so many stories in the bible - it all depends how you translate a few obscure words. You can explain anything away if you wriggle enough...

All very well, but who DID Jepthah expect to come out of his house? His man servant? Would he have made him a nun, too? !

  • murder wasent like murder is today, it was a good thing then. Like the way yo yo's used to be good but now theyre not.

  • GREATvideos thanks!

  • This doesn't seem so shocking compared to others, I mean the Elijah cursing 42 children to be attacked by she bears seems to me to be the most extreme story I have ever heard.

  • Some how that doesn't surprise me. After hearing hearing some of the worst Bible atrocities perpetuated by god, it seems yeah he did, Though granted two months is a long time to think it over.

  • And a lot of modern Christians that I've heard will try to spin this gruesome tale as one of "don't make rash promises". Your quote of Hebrews shows clearly how the story was viewed by the people of biblical times. What did he expect to come out the door - a mouse? Does anyone think the great Yaweh would have accepted anything less than a significant sacrifice?

  • It is about not making rash promises. Besides, as has been stated numerous times, God BANNED HUMAN SACRIFICE. Deut. 12 clearly states that the Israelites were NOT to worship Him the way their neighbors worshipped their gods.

Reason: "For every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods."

Plus, burnt offerings (per Lev. 1) were MALE LIVESTOCK (cows, sheep, birds), NOT WOMEN.

  • Why is he held up as a hero then and not as an idiot in Hebrews? A sacrifice isn't really a sacrifice now - is it? - unless something of real value is given up. Jephthah's greatness lies, in the values and view of the author of Hebrews, in his willingness to make a REAL sacrifice.

The fact that Abraham never questioned whether it could truly be his god demanding that he sacrifice his son demonstrates that the demand for human sacrifice was clearly in Yahweh's character.

  • christian answer - "it was a metaphor, like poetry, you don't understand"

  • Wonder what happened to, "thou shalt not kill"? Except to slake my blood thirst, of course. FTFY god.

  • Funny!!! I don't hear you skeptics complaining about the human sacrifices that were occuring among the Ammonites and other folks that Israel defeated.

They were ACTUALLY sacrificing women to their gods. Who exactly was going to stop them? Do you think saying "Pretty Please!!" was going to be effective?

  • Human sacrifice sounds like a theist thing. Both the killers of the human sacrifeicers and the human sacrificers are deluded. Both do heinous things (inquisition, crusades) for the sake of their god.

  • So your response is that they were all doing it therefore its okay, They also stormed a city and killed everyone within it by using a hoar, But those inhabitants were evil.

  • And, it certainly wouldn't mark the first time someone offered their offspring to the Lord's service. A prime example is Samuel.

As stated earlier, why is there all this emphasis on her being a VIRGIN and that she "knew no man", if she were to be killed? And I missed the part about the 60-day holding period for burnt offerings (notwithstanding that they're supposed to be male livestock).

  • Nothing in the past comments "rips apart" anything. It simply re-hashes skeptical takes that can be countered quite easily. Jephthah's vow is that his daughter will be given to the Lord. You DON'T give the Lord something, without following His instructions, which are CLEAR that human sacrifice is a no-no!

Jephthah had no heir, because of his daughter's perpetual virginity. Why would his daughter comtemplate getting hacked up FOR TWO MONTHS, then go through with it, AGAINST GOD'S INSTRUCTIONS?

  • You ignored what I said about the position of rabbinical scholars, the Catholic Encyclopedia, Josephus, etc. Those aren't "skeptical takes."

The theory of "perpetual virginity" is relatively new. For over a thousand years it was simply accepted that the story unfolded the way it is written.

The truth is you're scared of this story. The New Testament praises Jepthah as a Bible Hall of Famer, but you agree that is ridiculous if he sacrificed his daughter. So you HAVE to try to explain it away

  • I ignored no such thing. And I've known about the Catholic Encyclopedia's take and the Josephus account LONG before seeing your video.

I am hardly scared of this story. That's why I've addressed it. The prophetess, Anna, served in the temple after being widowed. She never remarried (thus no sex again). So, the concept is hardly far-fetched. Again, you don't give God something without following HIS instructions, which say NO HUMAN SACRIFICE and burnt offerings are MALE livestock.

  • @43alley led astray, the world no longer can influence us, because we are not of this world, and we rely soley on christs teachings, and what did he say? love your enemies, and do good to those that do all kind of evil against you,Jesus has overcome the world so have we who believe in him. and we won't lose his word. the population of god's people is no longer in jeopardy of evil that is why there is no more killing since christ and if you say The catholics killed your right, not the christians.

  • @43alley well, didn't moses sin? and abraham? and lot? and noah? all of them did, every single man in the bible sinned except for christ, so whats your point? a bad man can't change? prophets are infaillable? that would be a lie. all of them sinned. it's clear and easy to see, but god did not give up on them, and did not forsake them. even though they worked against him and failed, all fall short of the glory of god, including prophets. jesus hung aorund prostitutes and theives and the sick.

  • @43alley our faith isn't in the prophets, as you can see, for obvious reasons, they screwed up, they killed, they lied, they did all kinds of wrong. our faith is in YHWH, Yeshua, jesus the christ. the most high. we believe in the god of abraham isaac and jacob, not in abraham isaac and jacob. you can't understand that? a little child could for god's sake!

  • Notice all the specific instructions on the various types of offerings and the circumstances in which they are given. Note also that there absolutely NO SUCH INSTRUCTIONS on prepping humans, awfully strange for Someone that allegedly accepts hacked-up humans as offerings, ain't it?

Add to that all the verses, such as Deu. 18:10 ("There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire") and the aforementioned Deu. 12:30-31. And, there you have it.

  • Because the story was made up by very very poor fiction writers.

  • I keep coming back here out of interest. It's been like 3 weeks and you guys are still at a standstill.

-evolution is a fact...no faith involved.

-Complexity does not equal a creator.

-Don't we have fossils of homo erectus and a neanderthal or some shit ? If those don't look like 1/2 ape 1/2 man, i don't know what does.

science is not out to prove/disprove god. However, the more we discover about our world and universe, one could deduce that the existence of a god is highly unlikely.

  • @momje4ns

Evolution isn't fact, its theory. And you decide to put FAITH in Evolution rather than a creator...

There is no evidence that Evolution is real. and no there are no fossils of 1/2 man 1/2 ape; only Deformed humans as natural as the ones we see today.

  • @Psa1mist9

Evolution is fact, the theory of evolution explains the mechanism. A scientific theory is an explanation that is supported by a body of evidence and not contradicted by any evidence, such as evolution. A idea, such as a layman's theory, is only a hypothesis in science which is not the same as a theory. And I have already stated there is a mountain of evidence fro evolution and your ignorance of it doesn't make it go away.

  • @Psa1mist9

The reason there is no debate on the validity of evolution is because of the mountain of evidence that has already been presented. I would say it is one of the most supported theories out there. Because there is so much evidence there is no need for faith, so the comparison of it being similar to a creator is bullshit. A creator has no evidence whereas evolution is supported by evidence from all fields of biology.

  • @vnorthru....

Oh im sorry. How foolish of me!! You DO have evidence of Evolution... Mountains of it!?!?

Wow i shouldn't have assumed! Please by all means shed some light on me! I'm sure within that mountain of evidence you have fossils/ records that show humans in the middle of their evolution period. Please let me know! Seriously i'm very open minded. I'm sure it was all over the news, I must've missed it. Please give me some evidence...

    -Thank You

    ...

  • @Psa1mist9

Evidence of evolution consists of but not limited to human chromosome 2, endogenous retrovirus, mtDNA, pseudeogenes, homologous structure, homologous genes, countless phylogeneies, and using different genes give you the same phylogeny, introns, vestigial organs, fossil records, actually Ardipithecus ramidus is a human ancestor found last year and published in Science (a highly respected scientific journal) last year and actually called the breakthrough of the year

  • @Psa1mist9

That's not to mention the previously mentioned hominid fossils along with a countless amount of other transitional fossils between all major groups. Developmental biology, behavioral studies. This is not even the tip of the iceberg and if I was to list all the known evidence I would be here for days and I do not have that much extra time given I have just mentioned is off the top of my head.

  • @Psa1mist9

If there was no evidence of evolution the scientific community would not accept it let alone unanimously. We are our own biggest critics are are critical of eall vidence put forth. I do not accept just anything put forth, but you actually need to provide good evidence which evolution does. Evolution has been tested for 150 years and no evidence contradicting it, actually the more it's been tested the more evidence that is found for it. This is why it is accepted

  • @Psa1mist9

evolution takes about as much faith as gravity.

  • Apologist of any kind crack me up. Matt Slick is my favorite. Have you read the TAG argument? If you have to go through ALL that logic to say that your "god" exist....he simply doesn't. These people are waste of carbon.

  • (Continued).

Did you bother reading that this girl was Jephthah's only child. Yet, she's bewailing her virginity. Why?

The answer is simple. She is his only hope of producing an heir.

Jephthah fulfills his vow, by DEDICATING HER TO THE TEMPLE for service. That means she NEVER GETS MARRIED(hence, no "sons" for Jephthah).

That's how he keeps his vow. Human sacrifice is clearly forbidden in Deut. 12.

  • Nope.

Read through this comment section to see how this argument has been ripped apart several times.

You're even refuted by your own side. Jewish rabbinical scholars, the Catholic Encyclopaedia, and even Flavius Josephus (whom you religious LOVE to cite all the time) clearly say that she was sacrificed.

They came to this realization by simply reading what is written.

  • It certainly wouldn't be the first time that the Catholic Church has spouted something that doesn't mesh with Scripture. Reading what is written is why your claim is off the mark. Scripture clearly states that human sacrifice was FORBIDDEN and that God does NOT want worship to Him done the way other nations worshipped their gods. And, burnt offerings are MALE LIVESTOCK, not female humans.

Emphasizng virginity is hardly necessary if the girl's being killed.

  • @43alley my point is,jews were a minority, and if they did things that would diminish that population, there would be none to preserve god's will on earth, homosexuallity, open sex relationships, killing, stealing, all those things would decrease the population. and so the people wouldn't be influenced to do those things, the world had to be fought. it's simple to understand, but know this "god does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked" but he does protect his children, those who believe

  • Apparently, this atheist doesn't read the Bible ENOUGH, or he'd know that Jephthah couldn't offer his daughter as a burnt offering, as burnt offerings (per Lev. 22) had to be livestock, not to mention...MALE!

And, he also didn't read the last part of the passage in Judges 11 that states that she "knew no man" and left for TWO MONTHS to bewail her virginity.

Why is crying about virginity such an issue, if this girl's going to DIE?

Answer: Her father does NOT KILL HER.

  • my cats are intelligent enough to crap in the toilet. therefore god exist. true story, btw.

im not going to post again. i just thought i'd like to share that with everyone.

  • This is religion is all about.

  • LOL why does Jephthat look like AronRa?

  • You're right, he does. I sent AronRa a message telling him that, but he didn't reply. i guess I need another 8,000 subscribers or so before I'm allowed to converse with the Atheist Elite.

  • Sometimes, I think I need to re-read the Bible. I read it many times as a believer, finding all these parts that most believers rationalize actively (apologetics) or passively (ignorance). It's easy to remember some of the rationalizations and justifications for such things, but I have to agree that Jepthah seems like an utter jackass.

  • Christians just ask stupid questions like "Why are you here?". They think that question somehow strengthens their argument. Or they ask, "how did the universe begin?". Like, how the fuck do I know. We can only theorize with the evidence that is provided to us. Christians can't accept saying "I don't know" to things. They have to have answers NOW. So, if you can't explain it with science, the only reasonable explanation must be GOD DID IT. That's Christian thinking for ya.

  • Christians claim that there's an insivible mind reading being, yet they have the WEAKEST arguments for such an extraordinary claim. They have ZERO proof of any of the ridiculous fable stories in the bible. Yet, they believe in it 100% as a fact. They believe invisible realms like heaven and hell exist as a FACT, and spread this mumbo jumbo to brainwash children in church, the same way they were brainwashed. It's disgusting.

  • "4. Why do u have taste buds... its not neccasary to sustain life" This is how low Christians are going to defend their worship for an invisible mind reading god. I've never heard such a ridiculous thing in my life. If this is what Christians believe, they are the dumbest people I know.

  • thou shall not kill. Oh, unless you say that you will, then you must. Crap Crap Crap.

  • God is just keeping it real, better not go back on your word yo'

  • you forgot to say that God told him that he must get a blow job from his daughter before sending her off to be slathered

  • the best thing about these videos is that they contain nothing except the bible itself as a means to show how utterly pitiful its 'god' is.

  • That, and also the creator of these videos is a sexual tyrannosaur. Or so the ladies of YouTube frequently say.

  • 'Just like me.'

  • morally disgusting much with a good portion of the bible. Like Commandments of God to Joshua and Moses to commit genocide to the last man (woman, oxen, ass, infant) of the Amalekites (1 Samuel 15:3) and the Amorites (to name a few) including 'dashing the children against the rocks' and saving the surviving virgins for themselves, because it was believed those who opposed the will of God had the blasphemy written in their bloodline. But they're all in heaven? Bronze age tribalism... let it go.

  • Anyone who actually defends this is sick. There are no excuses for this, or for the many other biblical cruelties. Even if there was proof of this god, I still wouldn't worship him.

  • Will not his daughter be rewarded eternally for her great "faith?" This life is a temporary life which will mathematically approach zero for all of eternity. The sun will burn out and this temporary creation will suffer the end result of combustion.

You see a savage story, and yet the children of God will see a beautiful story that forshadows the virgin Son Who would one Day be sacrificed by an Almighty Father. Her reward in heaven is great...and so are those who see the true beauty of it.

  • She had love both for Her Father and for Israel. She is symbolic of a Savior by giving of herself to fulfill Her Father's vow.

    His Covenant.

  • You are one suck twisted mo fo

  • @Breckmin Children of God see a beautifull story of a pather killing his child. Yea, you are totally right, how can some people say this story is savage?(sarcasm)

  • Beckmin, why do I always see christians crying at funerals? Why do I they fight so hard to live? If you truly believe that nonsense you typed, why don't you just hurry to meet your god? If this story appeared in the newspaper today, how would you feel about it? If you have children, and one of your daughter's playmates was slain by her father because he made a promise to god, how would you react? Would you praise his faith? Or would you rightly condemn him as a crazy butcher of children?

  • The clear difference is that God has already become a Man and died as the Perfect Sacrifice for sin - so of course I would condemn him. FTR, even the Orthodox Jew condemned Jephthah's promise as a mistake because he was NOT God and was therefore not omniscient to make such a promise.

Still, the symbolism is undeniable to Christ and the Father God Who offered His Virgin Son as a Sacrifice for the victory of spiritual Israel. In the dispensation of the "church age" of grace, of course it's condem

  • Look. God doesn't exist. Never did.

    Get over it.

    Move on.

  • After death(fat lady belts one out) you will be reborn and sold as top soil.

  • How can anyone make a deal with a God who would allow such cruelty?

If I were inventing a God, my God would choose a man with great negotiating skills who would arrange a truce with the enemy to avoid a war. My God would refuse any burnt offerings.

    Ebal the Atheist

PS How could anyone believe the Bible?

  • I am tired of this endless argument of "God exists."

    "Where is your proof?"

"Where is your proof He doesn't?"

It is pointless to argue with people who are dead set in trying to make someone else believe what they believe. So just drop it. Lets just agree to disagree and leave it at that. This arguing won't get us anywhere.

  • Sometimes it does get us somewhere. Every now and then I hear a person saying "I finally gave up church, I can't believe I fell for that nonsense". Obviously it does good and if one of my hundreds of comments will make a light go on somewhere, then I will surely keep doing so.

While you may not be interested in the ongoing debate, you posting a comment will not halt the uploads. Don't visit videos that promote atheism. How is that difficult?

  • So who is the nice one? God? Jephthah....

    Oh wait thats right... nobody...

  • Jesus is God's son. Jesus is God. He was sent as proof of God's love, to die for our sins so we would be saved and so we are. "Blessed are those who do not see, yet still believe. " And no, you will never be innocent. We are all sinners. Yet, we are also saints. "Simul iustus et Peccator" ~ Martin Luther

God could have just let every last one of us burn in eternal damnation in Hell, but He didn't because He loved us and wants us to be with Him forever, so he sent Jesus to die for us.

  • or he coulda skipped the whole damn thing period, said hi im god these are the rules, welcome to heaven
