No, calling a statement "unAmerican" does not question the statement-maker's right to free speech. It is simply giving one's opinion about the quality of that statement. No one suggested that those making unAmerican statements should be held criminally liable.

Iraq and Afghanistan are totally different animals. You don't need 130,000 US troops in Afghanistan, especially with the other NATO forces there. As for your other charges against Bush, there has been no proven violation of international law regarding treatment of prisoners, the intelligence was the best we had at the time, MANY homeland security steps have been taken, and neither habeas corpus nor the 4th Amendment have been taken.

Military Commissions Act of 2006 suppeneded Habeas corps. All they had to do is declare you an enemy comabant and no more wirt for you. In Hamdan v. Rumsfeld, 548 U.S.(2006), In a 5-3 ruling,"violate both the Uniform Code of Military Justice and the four Geneva Conventions"

You're mixing pears and apples. The Hamdan case happened BEFORE the Military Commissions Act and the only reason Hamdan got off was because he was technically a US citizen (born in Louisiana to a passing-through Saudi doctor). Habeas corpus has never applied to unlawful alien combatants, so your claim is nothing more than Chicken Little hysteria.

One, I was using them as two separate events. I didn't mean to imply one lead to the other. Second, Habeas corpus is for everyone U.S. Citizen or not. The lates law overrules MCA 2006 and grants non-US citizens habeas corpus.

Most were gleaned for intelligence and released when they were deemed no longer a threat. All were captured while fighting America. The vast majority of the detainees were captured on the battlefield in Afghanistan while fighting against American forces.
