  • Yeah, I know they voted for it. The democrats voted to raise the debt ceiling, otherwise the national and world economy would have failed. The Republicans were refusing to pass the bill unless they got their tax cuts. Pretty much the Republicans held our economy hostage until the Republicans got their tax breaks for the wealthy.

  • Furthermore, I would love to see the documentation of the democrats outvoting the Repubs. on renewing the Bush tax cut bill. Feel free to prove it.

  • @johnnyyow 81-19 Senate vote.

    44 Democrats and 37 Republicans.

    277-148 House vote.

    139 Democrats and 138 Republicans

"42 Republican Senators pledged to block all legislation in the lame-duck session until the tax matter was settled"

There are Now, Right NOW 47 Republicans in the Senate, So NO there where not in office to Vote on this Bill.

Not until January 5th, 2011 as I have stated before.

This is the Democrat House and Senate with a Democratic President that Signed the Bush Tax Cut Law.

  • Nice video. The only thing I have to complain about is that under Bush, these tax breaks, didn't stimulate the economy. And these "temporary tax breaks", were supposed to be expired by now. Thanks to a Tea Party backed House of Representatives, this law has been extended. If it would have worked I would have no problem w/ it. People are acting like these are normal taxation policies. Befor Bush, not even Reagan had a tax policy like this for the wealthy.

  • @johnnyyow The Democrats held both houses of Congress when the Tax breaks were renewed.

The Tea Party Reps. in Congress Total 22 people.

The Tea Party was Formed just over 2 years ago, So in Your mind the 22 members in just 2 years have been able to control the entire Congress and make policy and Laws?

The top 50% pay 97.75% of ALL TAXES.

    The Top 1% pay 36.73%

    and

    Bottom 50%...2.25% of ALL TAXES.

So You think Other People know better than You how to spend Your money?

    That what Taxes are.

  • @americanbandwidth No they didn't. Get your facts straight. The Republicans held the house. If you don't think 22 people in congress make a difference then look at what happened to our nation's credit rating. For the first time in history our nations credit has been downgraded for a bunch of right wing nutcases who were willing to sacrafice our credit for politics.

  • @johnnyyow The election was held in November of 2010, The 112th Congress did not seat until January 5th, 2011.

The Vote on the Bush Tax Cuts were approved by the Senate on December 15th and the President Signed them into law on the 17th of 2010.

More Democrats voted for Bush Tax Cuts than Republicans: Passes House 277 to 148.

How can it be anyone else fault but the Democrats when they set the policy, schedule and had Both Houses of Congress?

"The credit rating is from too much spending" -Krugman

  • @americanbandwidth Are you kidding me? I saw it happen w/ my own eyes. I don't know whether or not you are an acclaimed student of Glenn Beck, but mark my words, The Tea party was "in the House." Check it.

  • @americanbandwidth By the way, I wouldn't be quoting Krugman, if I were you.

  • Good job. Concise and relevant to our situation. Thanks!

  • wow great video. It really helps put things into perspective
