And now, the literacy rate in Tibet is about 95%. This is one set of number. Go ahead to do more research before you make your decision.

Hi there,(i'm french)I guess there is a kind of misunderstanding, all what western countries want is more freedom for the chinese people and for tibetan,...maybe we are clumsy in the way we communicate and for that we can just apologize, i agree that it's really stupid to attack a disabled like that, and most of the french feel shameful for that,...but i feel disappointed when i see that chinese people believe france is against them.

I am Canadian, and i also agree with you. Aparently the western media says that china is killing the monks, but really, the were ordered to only defend, and took a beating as they did so. I saw this one guy with his leg slashed wide open by a monk with a machette.

What are you talking about? What do you mean "used"? Nationalism, doesn't it exist in any country, in any people? The problem of Tibet is that it wasn't an independent nation in the recent a few hundreds of years. There was no country in the world currently exist ever recognized Tibet as an independent country. The whole myth about this was generated by the sore losing previous ruling class of Tibet which dream about coming back to power.
