  • amazing dude.

  • Is this Karl Malden at 2:25 or am I wrong?

  • Almost every other day, I wonder what it would have been like had he'd been able to do his Napoleon Biopic and his version of "A.I.: Artificial Intelligence". :(

  • 1.A Clockwork Orange

    2.2001:A Space Odyssey

    3.Dr. Strangelove

    4.The Shining

    5.Eyes Wide Shut

    6.Full Metal Jacket

    7.Barry Lyndon

    8.Paths of Glory

    9.Lolita

    10.The Killing

  • what is the name of the song at 1:17 ?

  • Bellissimo

  • @Kubrick

    I will remember youuuu

  • The only one he fucked up with is that damn tom cruise piece-o-shit

  • @Jasonbjamin WHAT!?!? Eyes Wide Shut is a great film. it is my 5th favorite Kubrick film with Full Metal Jacket behind it and The Shining in front of it

    3. barry lyndon

    2. a clockwork orange

    1. eyes wide shut

  • Kubrick + Radiohead = AWESOME

  • Make one for Steven Spielberg!

  • Impressive!

  • Stanley Kubrick will always be known as the Greatest Driector ever...every film of his was perfect and no director will ever suceed him...Stanley Kubrick you'll always be the greatest

  • What's the name of the second song?

  • @Johnecenafana31 with or without you - scala & kolacny brothers

  • Well done! What program are you using to get the video clips?

  • I'm embarrased by how few of these I've seen...

  • Kubrick puts more genius into one shot of his films just by where he puts the camera and uses wide lenses and music. kubrick did more for cinema than cameron and lucas did combined with all their 3d and special effects. Noone advanced the art of cinema more than stanley kubrick.

  • What's that radiohead song you use?

  • This is what they made the Favorite button for.

  • This gave me chills!

  • You sir have just become awesome.

  • Stanley Kubrick is my all-time favorite director and I feel that you encapsulated so much of his craft in this tribute. Bravo, you have made some of the best tributes I have ever seen.

  • Subscribed after watching this. Perfection.

  • this is excellent

  • Amazing video dude!!!

  • i can really tell that you love Kubrick, just by watching your video,it looks like you made a serious effort!!

  • Comment removed

  • I think I'm responsible for half of the views.

  • @UsernameDostoevsky Me too!

  • I could tell you liked Kubrick from your username :) (or Stephen King)

  • I reccomend people read the description before watching. It makes the video even more amazing.

  • Does anybody have noticed that in almost every Kubrick's film there is a bathroom scene?

  • Do you just do videos of american directors? I wish you'd do one about Kurosawa, Bergman, Leone... Great masters too! Thanks!

  • Very nice collage, but ruined with horrible music, as cheesy as it can get, sorry!

  • @MrVogelpommes You fucking idiot.

  • Stunning video

  • Kubrick would be very proud of that montage. Really great!!!!!!!

  • I 've seen it 70 times I think. This is the BEST video I ''ve EVER seen on youtube. Excellent job my friend!

  • Stanley Kubrick was probably the only director who filmed films in every genre. Comedy, drama, sci-fi, noir, war and all of them are perfect! Absolutely superb video. I was touched by it as I always do when I watch Kubrick's films.

  • wich one is the third song?the one righ about 03:00 is that U2 ? who sing ias it in there

  • Kubrick wasn´t a "God´s Gift". Kubrick was A GOD! The best director ever. The true genius of cinema!

  • Fantastic tribute, one of my favorite film directors

  • anyone who hasn't seen full metal jacket i reccomend you dont whach 1: 41-1: 42 because theres a massive spoiler

  • Fantastic. Great tribute... though you missed Fear and Desire, Kubrick's First...

  • Somewhere, Kubrick is hopefully watching this. Rest in peace, Stanley

  • I love this video

  • @heresjohnny1991

Have you ever thought of doing a cinema tribute of your favorite films ever?

  • The best tribute i ever watch

  • Holy Shit that was awesome.

  • This is the best video you've ever done.

  • Radiohead+Stanley Kubrick movies=my nirvana.

  • Its a shame that today's movie watching/going public is for the most part too ignorant to understand the greatness of Stanley Kubrik. Many of them would probably find his films to be "too slow" or "boring". They would rather prefer the CGI laden summer blockbusters over his classic works. Oh well.

  • His films were something. Even if you didn't like all of them, you still saw him as a masterful artist and filmmaker.

  • We miss you, Stan! :'(

  • Bathroom scenes, Part 2. The only intentional humor in "2001" is when Floyd reads the zero-gravity toilet instructions. A bathtub is also glimpsed at the end of the film. I haven't seen "Eyes Wide Shut" since it was first released but, given the subject matter, a bathroom scene doubtless made an appearance. Summing up: Bathroom settings played a pivotal role in many Kubrick films!

  • The bathroom scene at 2:13 should have been supplemented with other (more important)bathroom scenes. They include: Alex being "found out" while humming "Singing in the Rain" in the bathtub. Humbert luxuriating in the tub while receiving "condolences" over his wife's death. The base officer kills himself in the bathroom in "Dr. Strangelove". Pyle kills himself in the bathroom in "Full Metal Jacket". Shelly Duvall is cowering in the bathroom while Jack is axing the door and says "Here's Johnny!".

  • I've literally watched this video a dozen times and Ive only just now realised I didn't "like" it :/ probably because I FUCKING LOVE this video!

  • nice editing, but a little akward music choice honestly – that's exactly the kind of pathos Kubrick always tried to avoid.

  • @jonasulrich I thought the music choice was perfect

  • @3Axy10Est13

It's nice if it works for you, it just doesn't feel Kubrick-like for me.

  • @3Axy10Est13 would it be perfect if i fuck you in the asshole? muther fucker, you better watch what you say. you think this musical choice is more perfect than the music stanley kubrick used?, your this fuker joel walden is a fucking better person than stanley kubrick? why dont you go fuck yourself. kubrick was one of the greatest human beings to have every walked this planet. he is definetely one of the smartest. but you say this joel walden fagit is more perfect than stanley kubrick. FUCK YOU.

  • @malows1234 firstly what a faggoty way to start off your comment. secondly...THIS ISNT A MOVIE...ITS A VIDEO very different form a movie. by saying the music fitted perfectly im not implying that this guy would make better movies than stanley kubrick you arrogant toolbag.

  • @3Axy10Est13 dude kubrick would have done everything better, kubrick is like the smartest human being ever born and it just bother me that you dont give him credit. i am sorry, you have to give him more credit. you should have said t he music choice was good, but if kubrick made it, it would have been perfect. i do nt know why you dont appreciate him.

  • @malows1234 who said i didnt appreciate, him...he is the best director ever. Obviously this video isnt gods gift to mankind, but it is the best video of him on youtube

  • @3Axy10Est13 i hope you know that stanley kubrick is a god's gift to mankind though. cause his film, well especially and particularly 2001 a space odyssey changed my life. 2001 let me be a astronaut for 2 hours. i mean think of the genius (and balls) required to make a film like 2001 thats completely silent and ambitious enough to probe the depths of human conciousness and the poetic relationship between man and technology. I Mean a lot of directors make good films, but who has as much genius?

  • @malows1234 Well. Stanley Kunrick impacted many lives, You clearly see his influence to filmakers like Terrence Malick who just released The Tree of Life which resembles 2001: A Space ODyssey in many ways...I like 2001 a little better but without Kubrick the film industry would be very different today. He is the best director ever, no doubt...But God's Gift? IDK

  • This Kubrick tribute is unlike anything I have seen on Youtube in an amazing way.

  • Well, this is truely a fantastic video. But the music isn't fantastic at all. Because Kubrick never used music, which touches the heart. And as a fan, you should know that.

  • @VaultTex

    Never used music? Really?

  • @FREDSVIDS96 Hearttouching music, learn to read.

  • @VaultTex

By using a comma, it makes it seem like you're trying to say that it is heart touching that he didn't use any music, which just seems stupid

  • Fantastic!!!!

  • Good work

  • Shit. That was amazing.

  • Kubrick and Radiohead... MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN

  • When Alex looks up...That gives me chills...anyone else?

  • I saw that you are making a Martin Scorsese video on your bulletin, Great he is in my top 3 directors along with Kubrick and Nolan, Please do consider making a Danny Boyle Video, or a Christopher Nolan video

  • This is hands down one of the best tributes to a director I've ever seem. This video is literally better quality than the official movie trailers. You should definitely make more. Here are some suggestions, Hitchcock, Spielberg, Scorsese, and Coppola. But anyway great video

  • the intro song was especially awesome. great vid

  • Thanks for this, sharing it on my movie blog.

  • Excuse me, did you just put a video together with the films of Kubrick and goddamn music from Philip Glass ???

I am so in love with you.

  • After watching a lot of these types of videos, this is the best [Films of / Works of] I've seen on youtube. The last song you used really made this something special.

  • The first one minute and twenty-five seconds of this are absolutely brilliant. After that, the music takes a turn for the un-Kubrickian and sinks the ship. Great opening, though!

  • I absolutely love this. Definitely one of my all time favorite filmmakers.

  • Beautiful indeed

  • Fucking beautiful

  • @heresjohnny1991

It's pretty evident that you love The Shining.

  • My friend, I gotta tell you right now that this is without a doubt the greatest tribute to any filmmaker I've ever seen. I applaud you for your excellence.

  • @FooFilmOfficial Kubrick is the one that should be applauded around here.

  • @roflmaodue Couldn't agree more!

  • Very well edited. Nice hommage.

  • I prefer [the films of] :)

  • Man, this is good work. I've just watched a bunch of your montages...my favorites are The Coens and this one.

Steven Soderbergh has a pretty generous filmography...love to see you work your magic on him, as well as Fincher and Christopher Nolan. But then, I'm probably the thousandth person to suggest those guys to you...

    Looking forward to your next.

  • And now, the % time allotted each film here: The Shining - 18.7% 2001 - 17.7% Clockwork Orange - 11.1% Eyes Wide Shut - 11.1% Dr. Strangelove - 9.3% Barry Lyndon - 6.7% Full Metal Jacket - 6.7% Paths of Glory - 5.3% Spartacus - 4.9% Lolita - 3.5% Killer's Kiss - 3.1% The Killing - 1.8%
  • Radiohead is the Kubrick of music.

  • Are you into Nicolas Winding Refn at all? Stanley Kubrick used to be my favorite director of all time, and then I saw Bronson. And Valhalla Rising. And Bleeder. And the Pusher trilogy. And most recently, Drive. His movies are pure pleasure, as would be a Nicolas Winding Refn - The Works video.

  • Marvelous!

  • Cannot. Stop. Watching.

  • The montage is nice, the choice of music is completely off.

  • @00cm I utterly disagree.

  • @lemonjellies ... because? I think the music is wrong because Kubrick favored ominous classical scores, not trendy pop/rock songs (used sparsely and ironically) that fail to capture the mood and essence of these films. And this is from a Radiohead fan, by the way. Just because you like a song, doesn't mean you should stick it anywhere. Of course, most people don't really know any better.

  • @00cm I understand what you mean but I think you confuse what works within an isolated Kubrick film compared to this sequence of iconic cuts from his films. As such, IMO, the music fits perfectly with the tempo and mood, uplifting each scene individually and as a whole.

  • This... this is beautiful. /tear

  • how the fuck does Eyes Wide Shut get more screen time than The Killing? no taste. . .but that being said damn good video

  • Excellent choice of a song off of "Paranoid Android." The first time I ever heard that album, the word "Kubrickian" was one of the first to come to mind. You tuned my favorite director to my favorite album of all time. Thank you.

  • This is beautifully edited. You are an artist

  • How did this not end with, "It's full of stars!"?

  • Kubrick movies, music from Watchmen, Radiohead, U2... Magnificent video

  • This.....is just to good. Stanley Kubrick is proud.

  • who's the actor on the right at 0:58

  • I must watch this everyday! (much to the annoyance of my flatmate)

  • awesome

  • HOW DID YOU GET SUCH GOOD QUALITY FOR ALL THESE CLIPS?

  • Oh and Gorgeous Editing by the way :)

  • I love you, man. You are another Kubrick fan like me, who sees the beauty of his works. No one can match him. I am a director and I aim to become the best possible, but I will always know that there is one no one can ever surpass and that is Kubrick. R.I.P.

  • I've been watching The Works and [the films of] and all the videos are great but this one is simply amazing. I watch it atleast once a day. Its extremely annoying as I'm studying woody allen films at the moment but the combination of this video and a shiney new kubrick blu ray boxset is tempting me away from my studies!

  • I favorited this a while ago, but I can't help but keep coming back to this video. The editing and music choices are seriously just beautiful, and the ending brought a tear to my eye.

  • I am acctually a big fan of Kees´es work, but this tribute is amazing. Kubrick is the greatest director of all time ( at least in my opinion ), and the fact that he does not have any Oscars for directing only shows how The Academy can not know what is good and what is bad.

  • Radiohead AND Kubrick? My teenage years summarized with images and sound. Thanks so much, it's amazing!

  • Wow heresjohnny1991, just when I thought you couldn't top yourself. This has to be my favorite of your montages so far! Fantastic job

  • What a perfect fucking video.

  • I saw this video as soon as it came out, having not seen a single film of his. Having now gone through all his films, I watched it again, and suitably broke down crying.

  • Hey... you see those 2,000+ plays on this video... about 1,000 of them are me re-watching it... thought you should know ;)

  • @CAK11891 haha same here

  • Goosebumps material.

  • Not enough of The Killing, my personal favorite Kubrick film (an odd choice I know). He's a filmmaker I respect more than I love.

  • Always amazing!!

  • Beautifully done... Kubrick would be proud

  • Welly, welly, welly, welly, welly, welly, well. To what do I owe the extreme pleasure of this surprising visit?

  • Great, great, great. I love it. I have watched only "Shining", "2001" and "Clockwork Orange". I love this movies. They´re very great. Of course one of the most important directors for ever.

  • Great video. The 2nd song could've been changed, but still great. I've got one question though: What song did you use in the promo of this tribute?

  • why can't i stop watching this

  • I've never seen a single Stanley Kubrick film in my life. I'm a regular film critic two years now, so that's a problem. Your video got to me where no influence has. Made it through "Doctor Strangelove" earlier. On to "The Shining" now. Still a long way to go, but it's wonderful thus far. Just, thank you!

  • I love the cut from the droog being tossed through the air to Frank hurtling through space

  • i love you joel

  • @heresjohnny1991 way to capture it all man. the brutality, the eroticism, the surrealist feelings, the performances, and the beauty of kubrick's work. well done yet again!

  • this video is brilliant! You captured so much emotion which is what I truly love about a video. Thats the biggest reason why your sam mendes tribute is my favorite. The lat segment of this video is just brilliant.

The Shining is my favorite Kubrick film. Dr Strangelove has an epic performance by Peter Sellers. Space Odyssey is probably his best film. clockwork orange freaked me out. full metal jacket scared the shit out of me ( I had JUST joined the army.) Eyes Wide Shut is underrated.

  • Excellent mate.

  • Wonderful montage I think the only one that rivals yours is barringer82, honestly I think Barry Lyndon is the most underrated of all Kubrick's works maybe besides his black and white movies.

  • @Hyman74Roth I'm watching it on Blu-ray. It's astonishing. It's a relief to see all the work Kubrick put into his Napoleon project wasn't just thrown away. As with most of his films, they get better each time you see them. You become more aware of how the films WORK. Once you know how the story gets to its end, your next viewing is one of seeing how carefully things are set into place.

  • Finally, there is a good Kubrick tribute.

  • @Michaeluj what?? search barringer82

  • @blaiserfilms Okay, that is one of the better ones, but it has few memorable qualities. I may not have focused much attention on Kubrick tributes, but I have collected nearly every cinema tribute video that I could find, and most that are dedicated to his work are rather lame.

  • @Michaeluj I strongly disagree

  • @blaiserfilms Well, I'll make an effort of finding all of them. I hope that you're right.

  • @Michaeluj Youtube is filled with kubrick stuff. I have a tab full of them as we speak. as for tributes, my favorite is the barringer82 one (no memorable moments??? elevator blood + 9th symphony??) and "a stanley kubrick odyssey" is well done. search around, i've found plenty. oh and the the little tribute at the beginning of SK: a life in pictures is great.

  • @blaiserfilms Ok, I now effectively agree with you. The beginning of barringer's video is a not exactly brilliant, but the second half is definitely superlative. I'm glad that you encouraged me to finish it. And I thank you for recommending the odyssey. I will now happily look for more Kubrick videos, right after I make room for the flood of annual cinema tributes that'll come in December.

  • @Michaeluj I'm glad! yeah december is going to be awesome

  • George Lucas doesn't like this video.

  • @Imagino1234 That's odd, I always thought 2001 was one of his biggest inspirations to make Star Wars

  • @heresjohnny1991 I guess not for the "Star Wars prequels" apparently. :P At any rate, Kubrick is probably the best cinematic director of all time.

  • @heresjohnny1991 Also, it was a joke about the (dis)like bar. Your tribute was very well done by the way.

  • great vid yet again! kubrick is the best.

  • You make the best film montages on YouTube, bravo.
