  • thanks for this great info on voice overs!

i just started making videos myself.

and ive learnt alot from watching your vids, hopefully I CAN IMPROVE WITH TIME!

  • wireless microphones?

  • @electrifrying Nope, if you look closely, you'll see a towel jammed in the crack of my window. Mic cable is plugged into the camera directly. We use a Zoom H4n now, though. So it records totally separately.

  • Nice, the ending was epic!

  • I didn't recognize the driver without colored hair.

Goodfellows is one of my all time favs.

  • Haha....The end was kick ass!!!

  • Hehe :P

  • That was COOL :)

  • Oh, I love it! Your body in the back of the car was rad. I love mobster movies anyway.

I wish I could've helped out for your original April Fools day flick but the timing was bad.

  • Hey pretty good the only thing is that the Voice overs were really noisy. Did you record near a computer? For Voice overs you need to be in a dead room to record the voice and use the same microphone that was used on the set. Just some constructive criticism for yah. Keep up the good work. Ure fan. -Aaron

  • Yeah, we weren't satisfied with the sound at all. But we wanted it edited and posted quickly, so the voice-overs were last minute.

  • thanks for the jamendo link

you know any good techno bands?

    thanks

  • Hmm, not too many. Did you try searching on Jamendo by "techno"?

  • yea i guess i'll just download random ones

you know how i'll be filming the "fake rave party" yea? well my friends are planning to use flashlights for the lighting (and glowsticks issued to people) =.= since there aren't any plugs on the rooftop. Any suggestions on how to improve the lighting?

  • Other questions:

Where do you get the censored audio "bleep" sound to cover swearing?

How did you simulate the flash for the gun? That was great.

    - john

  • The audio bleep is a standard 1k tone. Try soundsnap dot com

As for the flash, we used a flash, hehe. It's a Vivitar 285HV, set on 1/16 power with a tungsten gel. To trigger it, we used a wireless cactus remote (which Peter held in his free hand while he fired the gun).

  • haha you use wireless cactus triggers too!

do you have a link to your photography?

  • Haha, yep I do.

    Check you messages!

  • I'm assuming you are using the suction cup mount, featured in a previous episdoe, to get this hood shot...but what are you using to record the audio inside the car?

  • Yep, that's the cinemount.

We're used our AKG cardioid mic, plugged straight into the camera and then routed through the window (leaving a little gap). To fill in the gap, we folded over a towel and shoved it in :)

  • The Goodfellas ending was brilliant! LoL

  • that was a wonderful ending

  • that's what she said...

  • LOL

  • lmao, nice

  • haha nice

  • My first attempt at voice-over was awful, lol.

Peter's voice was great for the voice over, and I totally luv the ending...

  • lol

  • I like it

  • That's what she said.

  • Haha, neat Goodfellas ending.

Yeah a couple of years ago when I started making movies, I was always worried about using voice-over because I wasn't sure what kind of voice-over was the bad voice-over everyone talks about.

  • where do you put your camera for the car shot?

  • Mounted to the hood using a car mount :)

  • simply wonderful, nice dolly shots during the final sequence. the ending was fantastic.

  • Thanks! Glad you approve.
