  • clunky as shit, looks like a tv from the 50s

  • these are awesome I want one only because my laptop just broke lol

  • interesting only 10% more, but they failed to mention that it also uses about 50% less parts

  • i thought it was a gimmick until I got my Galaxy S2

  • OH my GOD!!! I am going to sell my house, prostitute myself, begging for change for the next 10 years to buy these MUST HAVE gadgets. Anybody with spare changes? I DO NEED these two items otherwise my life would be so miserable without them. PLEASE SEND MONEY!!!!

  • hmmm, lets see ready for consumers in lets say 10 or so years

  • wow the monitor looks really good on camera too

  • oi...why can't the future be now so i can afford these.

  • 5 of them on eyeifinnity :O

  • Normally this type of tech will take 10-20 to be affordable by the general consumer. But with GE making this type of technology available in many forms, I'm assuming it will be attainable in 5-9 yrs

  • OLED is the float tv.

  • Wtf OLED is supposed to be extremely affordable?!?!

  • 29,000$? You fkin kiddin me?

  • I'm buying 3 of these for eyefinity.

  • The 17" version is 4,200$ now. It's coming down a bit.

  • Bril OLED now ! . F*ck LCD

  • As others have mentioned here, it does seem that this OLED technology may not get off the ground for larger screens in mass production when several years later it's still stupid expensive. $29000......in 2011, what a joke!

  • organic screens! Rip it apart and it bleeds! You have to feed it a burger every day to keep it running!

  • I wonder how many more years we have to wait until they release consumer OLED TV and Monitor at reasonable price.

  • damn,.. 29K lol,..

Now all I have to do is win a lottery,.. Or just get Vita.

  • O. L. E. D

  • I'm looking forward to that wallpaper TV!

  • its probably even less then 1000£ to make one when buying the materials on a massive scale :(

  • Would not suprise me if the materials that are used for making these OLED screens only run at around 1000£.... money greedy little sony wanting to make back their investments in making the technology.

  • I don't really see the difference between LED and OLED. Both have no backlight and amazing contrast.

  • @EldMage: There are no "LED Displays" (on the consumer market), just LCDs with LED Backlight. They just have LED Backlight instead of CCFLs ;)

Of course LCDs with "local dimming LED backlight" can reach very high contrasts, but OLED is still superior.

  • @nukular0 Local dimming LEDs still have blooming though, which can make the display look REALLY uneven. OLED is definitely superior (I have an AMOLED phone and an insanely high contrast laptop with HP Radiance Display).

  • OLED is dead. QLED is the future.

  • OLED=Dead and Expensive technology.

  • THIS GUY IS SO BORING ..IBET IF HE WAS MADE TO ANNOUNCE AN ALIEN INVASION NO BODY WOULD CARE....

  • flexible screen wood be nice

  • "NGP(PSP2) comes with an OLED ..watch it in my channel and subscribe :P" (srry if it spammed my internet got slow)

  • =)

  • lol, this is the kind of thing we'll all look back on in around 10 years from now and chuckle. But seriously, I've been waiting for television sized OLED displays for years now. LED LCDs are nothing more then pseudo precursors to OLED display technology. I'm sure Samsung will thrash most other manufacturers though.

  • @Jinto117 Yeah, maybe in 10 years we'll finally have affordable consumer OLED screens. Widespread economic downturn isn't helping any either. We are already 2 years behind where we should be. Nobody has the cash to spend on consumer electronics anymore. Then you have to consider manufacturers are going to milk current tech for as much as they can get before OLED is out on a large scale.

  • Oh man these are gonna be sweet, at least when I can afford one... I hope they have the same pixel density of phone OLED screens, I need more resolution!

  • OLED is the future!

  • OLED is the futur!

  • we will have it in cell phones i guess

  • $29,000 is all? I'll take two!

  • @MrPacMan36

    One for each eye

  • @MrPacMan36

One for each eye, Then can wear them like funk fashion

  • @MrPacMan36

and also buy one for me.

  • @MrPacMan36 he said 10% more than the lcd ones... xD he made a misstake i think he ment to say $2 900

  • @hristijank2 I think he meant they are 10% more than the LCD professional monitors they aim to replace (not consumer LCD monitors).

  • beauty colors and displays :-)

  • Looks nice, can't wait until OLED becomes more consumer level.

  • @CJCA915 and thats in 2020

  • @CJCA915 We'll be dead by then...and probably new 30.000$ tech will be made...

  • @smartydix I prefer to hold a more optimistic view... I'm only 21, so I have quite a few years left, and at the rate of technological evolution, it's unlikely, we'll all be dead.

Well, everything costs a lot when new.

  • @CJCA915 I was just kidding :) P.S. I'm even younger than you.

  • @smartydix How old are you?

  • @CJCA915 Do you need to know that? 14...

  • @smartydix I don't need to, but why not... lol.
