You need to go back to 2 strokes - the new ones are a joke ! They have to be 250 hp because they weigh 1/2 ton without driver - try hitting a cruise boat 6 ft wake with those lumoxes.
@coolriff747 i have 2 stroke gp760 and a rxt 215 and i must say the yamaha just flys through the air hitting any thing fun when alone but not when your trying to get anywhere it porpoises like crazy i sorta like the extra weight how it cuts through slight wake instead of jumping out of control.
@revup90 - I Agree Now - Just Tried An Aqua Trax Honda Turbo - What A Sweet Ride ! Runs 63 To 65. Just Built A SuperStock GTX 951 Millenium. It Runs 62 All Day But Out Carves The Honda 2 To 1 . Thanx For Reply Lol KKenny
@coolriff747 I have owned both, the 4 strokers are way way faster and more fun to ride, but if your looking to get wet and throw your buddy off, yeah ride a 2stroker. (owned an ultra 150 and now have a built fzr)
no... it had nothing to do with drivers. The Ultra 250X is a very well made ski and it handles the choppy waters very well! That's why he kept up with my yamaha GP1200R so well.
no way..seado is the best jet ski there is out there these days. and my couzin has a kawasaki ultra 250 and his engine blew at 7000 rpm..i always race my seadoo at 8,000 rpm with no over heating problems. there best quality!
yamaha's are cheap? LOL. I've owned a kawasaki 900STX, an 1100STX D.I. and I now own a 2001 Yamaha GP1200R with 80hours on it. And let me tell you it's a blast to drive and it's well made and super reliable. I raced an Ultra 250X yesterday at my lake and I pulled about 1 jet ski length on that kawasaki. My GP1200R is not stock it's got minor mods, but it didn't do too bad against a supercharged ski with 250hp. LOL. Don't diss yamaha, b/c they make great ski's.
that might have alot to do w the drivers too lol. i have an 02 1100 zxi and can keep up with the RXT's and i know im down about 40 HP. but the GP is the race ski so of course its gonna be good. i raced a cigarette boat at my lake once and hit 2 cross waves @ 60 mph. flew off about 100 ft. im getting a 260x this summer
Actually Kawasaki created the PWC with the X-2 and their stand-ups. Kawi's and SeaDoo's are the only skis worth buying, no offense but Yamahas are too cheap and the water tail is gay. Kawasaki makes the best skis, I got a 1100zxi and it can hang w pretty much every other ski. The only thing bad about Kawi's is the handling.
sorry i meant, that like they havent had as much experience in builing the pwc's as much as seadoo. haha and i agree that the tail on the yamahas is gay.
common seadoo is clearly better, seadoo have had years of experience and have bettered there models every year, where as kawaski have only just started out, they need more time to figure out balancing and engine work. thats just my opinion though.
I love both and would like to get one. Problem is that people say the reliability of Sea-Doos suck and that the fuel economy of the Ultra is insane. Probably will end up with a Yamaha.
sure the sea-doo engines may be faster... but they're heavier. i compared my friends sea-doo and my kawasaki, and i liked my kawasaki way more because of the handling. I love free styling on my kawasaki
and plus, kawasaki was the first ones to make the real jet ski
oh ya and thats because they end up playin catch up with seadoo...sorry yamahas are great but they come second to Seadoo's....lol took them a year to come out with something that beat the RXP-x in speed...the FZR but next year it will be seadoo again beating everyone
I would love to see this Kawasaki against a HSR Benneli Series R Prestige 278hp 2260cc V6 engine yeah it may be unfair but like this isn't? the RXT has alot less power for crying out loud if you want it more fair you would have put it against a RXT-X
BTW, If someone is wondering what ski to get, the RXT X runs at about 20gallons/hour at WOT, the Kawasaki runs at about 30Gallons/hour at WOT. This is because the kawasaki is heavy and does not have a supercharger.
Just check out the musclecraft shootout..Shows the RXT-X 1st,RXT 2nd,Yamaha FX SHO 3rd and Kawasaki 250 4th...The Ultra 250 may be modded and the RXT stock...Especially since there 35hp difference but the Ultra 250 is about 100lbs heavier than the RXT...
Yeah but it seems the ultra in the musclecraft shooutout was a lot slower than most. Again, I don't "root" for kawi, but I thought it was kinda bogus that it ran 64 mph. Everyone knows the 250s run 65-66. I think a musclecraft shootout should be conducted after a proper break-in period (10 hrs) and then we might see some different results. But the RXT in that shootout was miiighty fast haha.
Thats an RXP X...and ALL of you people in this post talk with so much stupidity. All of you are BIAS seadoo/kawi owners. Kawasaki has better ACCELL than an RXT, but its VERY close on top end. RXP and ULTRA are about the same ACCEL and RXP beats top end. RXT X and RXP X are faster than the kawi in every aspect..But in conclusion..Ultras are faster than an RXT in most cases, especially chop.
Maybe that is true in your experiences with the Ultra. Personally, I was never out accelerated by and Ultra 250X or beat in chop, and I've raced over five different Ultra's numerous times.
And which ski do you have? If you think I am siding with Kawasaki, please don't think that. I am an unbiased ski owner. I have had every seadoo out there, and currently have a seadoo RXP and a yamaha vx 110. Never had a kawi, but not gonna let them get bashed on. The kawasaki ultra 250 is the best chop ski out there, no questions. The 250 and RXT are VERY close in accel and topp speed, but with just a little bit of chop the kawasaki is faster.
It comes to the point where rider experience takes over in the chop, but I will say, put two first time riders on the Ultra and on the RXT in chop and they will be more comfortable on the Ultra.
I got modded my RXP and now have an RXP-X. VX110 is now the "family" ski and also the ski that guests ride. My RXP is stage 2+,Rude SC, stock ECU. I get 79 constant and 80 in ideal conditions.
They both will hit 50mph in 2.9 seconds. The RXT is more of a family ski, it can be used for more things and rides smoother. The RXP has about a 1 MPH higher top spped stock, but its a rough ride unless the water glass.
ultraxrider i dont see how thats poss... i dominated 4 ultras in miami from the hole and rolling (20), oooo i am not stock now got intake and exausth.
I loved my Ultra 250x at first then in less than 6 months I got 4 re-calls on it and then it threw a connecting rod and blew the engine into about 18,000 different pieces and Kawasaki is not going to cover the re-paid bill because they say "we dont see a manufactures defect" so I have to pay for the 6,500$ re-pair bill
after I get it fixed I am selling the piece of #$&*
Check out my vids I have a vid of whats left of the engine
HAHAHAHA poor sea doo..try race kawi in the chop!
