I grow up in the Socialist country Sweden and moved to Thailand as a 20year old, and i can say that Socialism is NOT good!

The poor country Thailand have WAY better hospital care and workers here get a hospital card for a very smal amount of money.

In Sweden we have the highest taxes in the world and the hospital care SUCK.

In Thailand you mostly get care as soon as you come to the hospital, in Sweden you sometime need to sit and wait 16hours with a broken arm.

Mussolini was a fascist, but started out a socialist. Corporations didn't run the state, coporoations had some freedom, so did the people unlike Hitler's social state. But Corporatism is where they transcend class differences and get government, capital and workers all in bed together to write the rules for the company.

I must also say that I went and watched the videos on youtube of President Obama boarding and disembarking from Air Force One for the first time and he didn't look out of place at all. I agree with what you say. There is a huge part of me that wants to follow Obama and puts him before America. There is a huge part of me that would love to see the American flag pulled form every flagpole and the Obama logo flown in it's place.
