  • bEcKy11796: Your statement, "Even a 13 year has enough common sense to know that giving up like that just isnt right." Huh? People who take their own lives aren't concerned with right or wrong since they are acting out of desperation as a way to end their pain.

On a sidenote, research has shown that our brains are not fully developed until we reach our mid-20s. What this means is that teens may act on impulse since they do not associate consequences with certain types of behavior.

  • blah blah blah your boring

  • I'm 18 now and I got bullied in school (it stopped at 16) and honestly, it still affects me now. I have a huge confidence and paranoia problem, I find it hard to talk to new people and I get paranoid about everything... someone can just laugh around me and I think they're laughing at me.

  • A lot of kids and adults kill themselves because the LAW is too blind to go after these assholes... I delt with one myself and I got the ISP from a friend of mine who was able to filter out the person that threatned my safety... The Attorneys office TRIED to write me off but I fought like hell to get this person to stop.. As soon as the person got that letter she blasted me for turning in her ISP and within days her pages were GONE...

  • @williamkatt81 errr... you probably would have been better off ignoring it, because if they were serious, then getting them in trouble will only make them more angry and determined to hurt you. ignoring it is probably the best, they do it for the response, so stop giving it to them.

  • @tittyfestival Well I am still here and No one else with that kind of BS does not bother me... BTW that girl stole my videos and made my life a living hell... Once I got the ISP I took it to my local attourneys office and made them follow through on it. I am GLAD I follwed through with what I had to do and I WON...

  • @williamkatt81

well i'm glad things worked out

  • @tittyfestival Thank you... :-)

  • What is a good L-pill that is painless and obtainable before spring break is over?

  • to the ppl who are STILL saying mean things about megan...shut the hell up. shut up. when you're lonly like her and you're at a new school and you have no frinds yet, and one person who you think you have as a friends tell s you to go kill yourself...guess wat? ur so confused you're gonna end up doing it. so shut up cause words hurt and they drive people to do things like what megan did.

  • amen to that im in kinda the same situation but im not suicidle this story has touch me deep in my heart i have been watching her videos for about three hours and its made me cry im not gunna lie and im a boy. R.I.P Megan Meier's

  • @luvMUSICchika there are sooooo many other kids and adults out there that dont nearly have it as good as megan did. She obviously had loving parents. Yes, she might have been hurting but committing suicide is waayy too extreme. Even a 13 year has enough common sense to know that giving up like that just isnt right. Dont wanna be mean, but its ridiculous how easily avoided this couldve been

  • @luvMUSICchicka

i feel bad for megan. i know how she felt and went through. its a sad story. people do need to leave her alone and realize the heartless people that caused this. in the end those behind it will face justice with no way out by there god.

  • I know its wrong but I would slaughter that fat bitch, if this happened to my daughter.

  • people dont understand why she commited sucide she felt lonely and depressed but still why would someone do that to a child

  • If she was actually pathetic enough to have an e-boyfriend instead being a normal person, oh well. If she let something like that get to her, then that's one less over-emotional emo kid polluting our country. :)

    To put it shortly:

    She got pwned. By herself.

What's bullshit is how people take pity on this crap. It's the internet people, you will get called something offensive, deal with it. It's not real-life.

  • totally agree. what a massive fail of a human, natural selection at it's finest

  • this comment is to ( fighterxpilotxfox ) what an asshole you are to say something like that she was a child!!!!!!!!!

  • It doesn't matter if you're a child or an adult, being a minor doesn't change the fact that she commited suicide over an e-boyfriend. Regardless of whether he was real or not she overreacted and whining about how "meen and hurtfulll!!111@11" it was isn't going to change anything.

  • u know what ppl are going to be sad about things like this and ur fucked up 4 saying that yeah its the internet but what do u like support cyber bullying or somthing bitch

  • Says the child who can't even type a decent reply. Quit your emo bitching, spit the titty out of your mouth and stop being such a white knight defending a girl who threw away her life for troll account on myspace.

  • Hey, you need to keep your comments to yourself. True this young girl had problems, you don't need to add fuel to the fire. Let the poor child rest in peace and leave her and her family alone, they did nothing to you!

  • i know its been 5 months but i agree

  • The Suspect should be in jail and this story should show people that not all bullies are teens and kids.. There are adults that are just as stupid...

  • it was the girl's friends mom that did it she should b held resposible 4 megans death

  • dynelol, are you one of the fat ugly bitches that did this, or a friend, or family of the cows that did this? Shut the fuck up you fat whore. No one wants to hear you.

  • You ask me questions and then say nobody wants to hear me? lol. I'm a man. I don't know any of the people involved in this hilarious happening. I'd love to meet Lori Drew, though.

  • ur the idiot she was a child and they should not have did that

  • Wrong and illegal aren't the same thing.

  • i agree with you its like megans father stated...lori drew may ave not been involved physically in megans death...but its the same as if she would have killed herself with a gun lori drew created the noose thats my opinion...but her fathers exact words were its as if megan would have killed herself with a gun lori drew and her assistant loaded the gun for her....again her fathers words...my words are that lori drew verbally created the noose for this poor girl...rest in peace megan

  • it was the mothers fault

  • its ur fault

  • you are sick

  • get a life.

    ur sick

  • Oh so now youre a raicist troll?

My, how completely biased of you. Are you implying that black paople don't have book smarts? Or that there are no serial killers who were black? Maybe the reason there are more white serial killers than black is because whites are the majority? Are there no dysfunctional black families, as well as across the entire racial spectrum. Racism is racism, period. Be it balck, white, brown...whatever. Your comment is racist and completely off color. Pun intended.

  • retarded!!!

  • I can't believe I'm on the internet watching a video of someone surfing the internet! ARGH!

  • i was totally thinking the same thing! meh saved me the effort lol

  • the whole family from the suspects should be given the death penalty

  • no, because some of them didnt do nothign s o wtf u tlakign about.I THINK THE SUSPECT SHOULD

  • There's not only bullies on the internet, on Youtube I've read comments from the dumbest people! I couldn't believe it! And on any subject, they say the stupidest things.. at least you're doing something, and I like the "live search" style of this video.

Any new updates? The mother is going to be charged or not?

  • pplz....pleaz add me!!!

  • i feel soooooooooo bad!!!

    im suffering from depression too!

  • i think its cruel (veryveryvery much) and those parents should be put in prison 4 it n thanks 4 the info . and also every1 who has been bullied know how it feels so stoop bullying now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thank you for the information i hope those parents who made up that kid get what they deserve

  • man this guy is boring!

  • Shouldn't criticize unless you can do better yourself... where's your videos???

  • yuh all his puny brain can think of is fun..30 yrs old retard

  • cool and an awesome vid

  • Last week the Grand Jury returned a judgement charging Lori Drew with 4 different counts, none of which are murder.

  • Chances are that she probably wont be convicted on all four charges and even if convicted on one or two she will probably get probation.

But the fact that she will have to face up to what she did in court will mean alot.

Plus it will lead to establishing better laws in the future.

  • Anyone who says what Megan Meier went through wasn't that bad doesn't know what they're talking about. They're also lying if they say they were the victims of bullying and got over it. I was bullied in school and it's not something you just get over. I turned 36 yesterday and the bullying I went through still bothers me.

  • You are absolutely right. However, people are different... some become stronger and some do not. I was bullied horibly when I was a kid. But I went into Fire & Rescue, worked at a hospital and now am in Security. I've made a life of helping those in need. I stand for myself and others. Believe me, I do not want to get into any physical altercation, but I will not be intimidated.

Got over it??? No... I got through it!!!

  • I'm missing something here. Isn't it illegal in most states, to tell a person to commit a crime? Or even suggest it? In most states it is illegal to harm yourself or attempt suicide. You can be charged for that and locked up. From what I've seen so far, any reasonable person would believe that lori was doing just that. And to a minor? If you were to make a statement like that, to a minor at...say.... a McDonalds? I guarantee you would be going for a free ride. What's the problem here?

  • Lori Drew's employee, Ashley Grills openly admits that following sending insults such as; no one likes you, everyone hates you, everyone knows you are a bad person, etc, she sent the final message of; the world would be a better place without you.

They did not actually say to Megan that she should commit suicide.

However, Drew was fully aware of Megan's condition and should have known that perpetrating the hoax against her would have a bad out come.

  • hi mojaveranger did you hear the good news lori drew is finally charged

  • Yes I have and it is very good news. Now let's hope for a conviction.

However, chances are that she probably wont be convicted on all four charges and even if convicted on one or two she will probably get probation.

But the fact that she will have to face up to what she did in court will mean alot.

Plus it will lead to establishing better laws in the future.

  • why would they ask for help from doctor phil anyway

  • Thanks for the info.

  • oh i see yeah dr phil isn,t that great

  • was the dr phil interview about megan meier helpful to her family?

  • I haven't seen the Dr. Phil interview. I haven't even looked for it. I lost respect for Dr. Phil along time ago.

  • exactly they drifted apart

  • the candel lights seemed kinda nice and peaceful i feel bad for meagan she got bullyed in school and thats just not right

  • its just strange how an adult would do that to a child my guess is that when meagan and her ex girlfriend ended there friendship her friend wanted revenge and thus she created a fake account and then sent nice messages to her then a month later she sent mean messeges revenge doesn't solve anything she was acting like a little child man that was wrong of her friend to do that i hope tina gets justice soon

  • Something I still haven't got confirmed is whether the friendship between Megan and Drew's daughter had ended badly or if they just drifted apart because they were going to different schools.

  • i saw on story 27 that the case inspired a bill for internet herassment in missouri i suppose that helps alittle bit

  • For future cases for sure. But another thing that Tina Meier is working on is a foundation that will help to educate people so as to prevent kids (and adults) from falling prey to cyber fraud, bullying and predators.

  • i see do you know if tina got justice for megan yet?

  • I do not know what is happening with the Grand Jury investigation yet. Other laws are in the works that will prosecute people in the future, but will most likely not affect Lori Drew. But Drew's life has been made fairly miserable.

  • hey umm mojaveranger do you know if lori drew moved out of missouri

  • The last that I am aware of she is still in the same house and the police are still making extra patrols to insure her safety.

  • No jury in its right mind is going to put a taxpaying, law abiding citizen in prison with murderers and rapists because of what they said to a nutcase on the internet. The first amendment was put in to place to protect the people whose words and opinions we DON'T agree with. Lori Drew did not threaten this chick in anyway, what she did was tell her what she thought about her, which she had every right to do, just like Megan had the right to log off or delete the account. SHE CHOSE NOT TO!!!

  • The freedom of speech guaranteed by our constitution, as with all freedoms, comes with individual responsibilities. But this is not and never has been an issue of freedom of speech.

You still do not get it.

This woman set out to decieve a young girl, who she knew had emotional problems. Even though she did not intend for Megan to commit suicide, she had to realize that no good could come of her actions. What Lori Drew did was wrong and she should be held accountable in some way!!!

  • u know what its not smart at all what u said she was a child and i hope the person who did this dies

  • I stopped watching as soon as I saw you have AOL.

  • Not my choice... it's the provider at my job. But that doesn't have anything to do with the subject matter of the video.

  • Sad that we live in a society where most believe the answer to our problems is to make more laws, to prosecute more people.. overall, to limit our freedoms. Is it really necessary to force your twisted morals and world view on other people? Why are some of you so focused on controlling other people? You are no better than Lori Drew.

  • I fully agree that there needs to be tougher laws, education and counseling... for the victims and the bullies as well. There was a school shooting incident here in Calif a couple days ago that was related some how to previous bullying. Still don't have the details but it was the kid that had been bullied that was shot dead.

There will always be those who will torment others who are smaller or different. But with education and counseling at an early age it can be reduced drastically.

  • As for if Megan knew Josh wasn't real. No, she died believing that the boy that said she was pretty had for no reason turned on her. As I recall, it was six weeks after her death that they found out that it was Lori Drew. Drew openly admitted to the police that she had opened the MySpace and created the false perona of Josh to gain Megan's trust in order to find out what Megan might be saying about her own daughter. There has not been any evidence presented that Megan ever said anything.

  • Many people say that there can't be laws to stop cyber-bullying because it's "freedom of speech". The laws would be against using fraud with the intent to harm or gain. The foundation that Tina Meier is working on would be for educating and counseling kids and adults.

  • Cyber bullying is not a real form of bullying. It is a bullshit made up concept created by imbeciles who give way too much power to (in most cases) complete strangers. If you lack the common sense needed to stop reading emails and messeges that are causing you distress, then you're dumb ass doesn't belong on the internet in the first place.

  • Okay, inteligent conversation... I can do that.

I can only partially agree with you on this. Because society in general has become so dependent on the internet for so much of their everyday life, the 'concept' of reality is distorted. Too many people take it for granted. And that goes for cell phones and other electronic communication. People do so much of their day to day business through technology that unless they have been victimized, they believe it to be safe and reliable.

  • That distorted concept of reality applies to cyber-bullying as well. If someone taps out something cruel or threatening on a keyboard it is percieved, to some extent, as real to some people. Especially if it is from someone that they know in real life or that they have come to trust as real. In Megan's case, she accepted that Josh was real and everything he said to her made her feel good. When he turned on her it was a trauma to her already unsteady emotional condition.

  • Then cruel comments were coming from people she didn't know. Her mother told her to sign off but she didn't. It escalated and when she went to her mother for support, Tina scolded her for not signing off and using the same bad language the others were using to her. At that moment Megan must have felt that even her own mother was against her. Then she was dead.

I'm not going to judge whether or not Megan belonged on the internet in the first place.

  • You are aces and eights in my book MojaveRanger.Point blank video.Succinct and to the point.I'm glad that the Drew's are still in the sights of the Meier's and those of the law.

  • I really had to think about it before making this video. Especially since I had blasted a few people for making videos "using" Megan Meier to get attention for themselves.

  • Hey, check out primordialconflict's comment below!!!

  • I've tried three times to reply to him and for some reason it wont post. What the hell???

  • Wow..Reading that was like having a comic strip brought to life..one of those that make no sense.

  • I tried asking him if he'd be okay with it if someone burglarized his home, stole his car, defrauded his credit and bank accounts and hacked his computer. Or if he'd expect our "twisted moral and world views" to prosecute those responsible.

    BUT IT WOULDN'T POST!!!

  • Gotta go... there's a young woman in Argentina that I need to spend some time with. Check back later.

  • By reading that post of his I have at least three points of attack that would totally nullify his clueless ramblings such as yours serves to do Mojave.

  • I remmeber hearing about this some time ago, but I never really payed much attention to it. The things those people did was wrong and went WAY to far. Its Internet bullying which is something that is now being taken seriously. So it should be getting all the attention, its almost like these people are an accomplice to murder >.>. Creating someone to commit suicide. well aware of depression problems and so forht..Anyways thanks for the info i had forgotten about this

  • Thanks for the heads up. I'll see what I can do.

  • Thanks for the update! Glad to hear this isn't going to be swept under the rug.

  • Hi Caylyn,

Some people think that was attempted because the Meiers were advised to remain quiet while the investigation was being conducted and Drew apparently had influential contacts in the community. Whose to say for sure.

  • great update! I hadn't followed up on this one for a bit. I truly believe that Megan's story has already done a world of good, the public is more aware and Mrs. Meier has done a tremendous job in pushing the issue. Although I agree that harassment law(s) should be modified to include forms of cyberbullying, this is something we must watch carefully. Heaven forbid that the end result doesn't overstep boundaries by criminalizing online speech...

  • Yes... we definitely have to protect free speech!!! But like I say to lots of people... with freedom comes responsibility!!!

  • it was upsetting hearing about this. Parents are suppost to set an example for their children. I don't even think myspace is appropriate even for teens. Basically for teenages it's used to spread rumors. I use it for work and relatives I cant see that live in the UK. megan Meiers shouldnt have had a myspace at that age to begin with

  • The tragic irony of this is that one reason the Meiers allowed Megan the MySpace was to help her with her self esteem. It was working... her communications with "Josh", the false identity created by Lori Drew, was helping with her depression. Then in a very short time it all went bad.

  • I got the impression that the person who played this hoax on her did it understanding her state was exasperated by antidepressants.. but in the end.. this too will probably kept in account of the situation, it in no way leaves the person who played this cruel trick on her off the hook.. but there are so many bullies out there on the web, understanding that they may actually get arrested for this behaviour may slow them down, just a touch.. thanks for sharing.

  • It was more than understanding... the two families were close friends. You could say that Lori Drew had an "intimate understanding" of Megan's condition. Even though she had no intention to drive Megan to suicide, she is responsible yet shows no remorse.

  • No remorse is a good reason to lock her up.. in my eyes.

  • She has actually told Tina Meiers "isn't it time you stop this" (not a direct quote but pretty close) in regards to investigation and prosecution.

  • As far as I'm concerned, if this happened to Lori's daughter, she'd probably take up the same actions as The Meiers so she really should keep that advice to herself.

  • Yes, if the shoe were on the other foot I am sure that Drew would have called in every favor and pulled every string she had in the community.
