  • @lakiveronique Merci de regarder la vidéo et votre commentaire! Ce morceau est un de mes favoris aussi bien. Cet enregistrement est celui que j'ai l'habitude d'écouter la radio en tant qu'étudiant.

  • Has Bernard Herrmann ever conducted an orchestra to perform this marvelous music? This is almost like something from a classical film score. I know this doesn't have anything to do with Vincent Van Gogh, but this music could have been a portion of the soundtrack to the film about Van Gogh, Lust For Life.

  • This section is on the MUTEL production music library.

  • In the final version, yes. There have been a series of modifications and versions and since 1898. There have also been orchestrations without any "Sicilienne" at all. The early Ansermet recording places it as movement IV, which is what you are listening to here. The original incidental music consists of a total of nineteen musical numbers, and in 1900, Fauré arranged three of the longer orchestral pieces into a Suite, extended the orchestral forces, and added a Sicilienne.

  • Yup, it is.

  • Isn't this the third piece in the suite?
