Wizard of Oz is released n 1939 and you're right, It's a golden movie. don't turn it into a video game disaster and Battlechess, need I say also is frustrating too. the turtle pase, the bad sound and ofcorse, the shit poor animation, you gotta be atleast a monkey to play Battlechess. They made a videogame of Wizard of Oz because the movie is legendary. Same story with the Looney Toons games on the NES and SNES. Looney Toons was made around the same time that Wizard of Oz came out, but videogames weren't made off Looney Toons until the 80s. Regardless, though, Wizard of Oz looks like a sucky game. Same with Battle Chess.

I use to play battle chess on DOS I think, or maybe jst really fricken old windows. Can't remeber for sure. Either way it wasn't so bad on the PC imo.

Battle Chess is awesome...when it's not on the NES. Geez, didn't anyone playtest that game and complain about how flippin' SLOW the pieces moved? They also toned down the violence on the captures. Knight takes knight, for example, no longer has the Monty Python-inspired dismemberment.

This was a bastardization of the PC game. I played that version in school, and it wasn't nearly this slow/boring. The pieces would even kinda do fatalities to each other, it was quite violent for the time!

Battle Chess was originally for the Amiga I think.. well at least it's MUCH better on the Amiga.

It looks like shit on the NES but on the Amiga it's a good game.
