  • como eu gostava de ver minha irma jogar o super mario bros 2,agora tem até mario em 3 dimissoens

  • So this game was already Nintendo, I was wondering how Nintendo was able to take the game and use all the enemies in later Mario games

  • Good Job!

  • Really... even the ninjis aren't original D:

    Gee...

But... huh... i had always thougt the Pow Block was from the original mario bros... wasn't it? ._.

  • It's sorta funny how the Mario franchise got many of it's iconic elements from some random reskined game.

  • so this is doki doki panic why did the remake a mario version of this :/

  • look at 01:05.

  • funny how nintendo edited this game and made mario 2. Lazy...

  • it looks like princess bubble gum from adventure time....

  • THIS MAKES ME ANGRY!

all throughout afterschool care the boys play the super nintendo and wont let me play cuz im a "girl"

AND WHEN I GET TO PLAY IT I LOVE IT! AND LEARN THE SONG AND ITS NOT EVEN MARIO, AMERICA VIOLATED NOT ONLY MY CULTURE BUT MY CHILDHOOD ITS ALL AMERICAS FAULT!

  • 02:06

  • si bien super mario bros 2 está basado en esto, el sonido del salto de este juego es del super mario bros de 1985

  • cool

  • Não sei qual é o botão para iniciar um jogo da Famicon. Diz que é "SIDE B" mas qual é esse botão? Jogo no emulador Nestopia. Por favor responda para mim. Estou com vontade de jogar esse jogo.

  • @bia2696 Oi, pelo Nestopia não sei porque usei o VirtuaNES, lá a Side A é o 1 e a Side B o 2 ;)

  • @bia2696

    en emulador Nestopia:

Machine / External / Disk System / Change Side

    ;)

  • Dude?!?! Can you not run in Doki Doki Panic? Or are you just choosing not to?

  • @AtomchildMusic - you can't

  • @RMitsui88 That sucks. But it doesn't stop me from wanting to play Doki Doki Panic. I was just wondering.

  • Very good gameplay friend!

  • MOST OF IT IS THE SAME!!!!

  • this is soooo weird... : )

  • i stand by what the irate gamer said -- this game's alright, but it's NOT a mario game. c'mon! how much did nintendo pay the makers of this game to slap mario, luigi, toad, and peach on it?

  • Look at all of the things Nintendo stole that are now staples of the Mario series!!

  • @alreadytakenthe3rd Dude, Nintendo owned this game, and owned SMB2. They thought the Lost Levels (the ORIGINAL Super Mario 2), was too much like the fist one.

  • @DiaryOfATedlyKid Lol, I'm dumb. Didn't even see the Nintendo / Fuji TV at the beginning. Well that clears up quite a few misconceptions! Thanks for at least not flaming me for it.

  • @DiaryOfATedlyKid I've heard that they actually thought that the original smb2 was too hard, so, they've just reskinned this game.

  • The noise Birdo makes when she dies is horrible.

  • Quanto spesso si prende in mano Beezos?

  • Você é bom cara xD

  • I started to wonder:

"Hmm, Doki Doki Panic looked so familiar, Super Mario Bros. 2 looked same as this." Then, I realized Nintendo put the Mario characters' sprites onto these. And remember "Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels"? That's actually the ORIGINAL SMB2!!!!!

  • WTF? This is Super Mario Bros 2!!1

  • @jompkange No, this is Doki Doki Panic, this game was 1 YEAR before SMB2, its that THe original SMB2 (aslo known has the Lost Levels) Was Really hard that Nintendo of america decided to NOT Release the game on USA. So when they saw doki doki panic they decided to Use that game has SUper mario bros 2 for USA

  • @jompkange No, no it's not. Nintendo of America took this game and replaced the characters with Mario characters. The real Super Mario Bros. 2 (known in the US as the Lost Levels), which came first, was considered too difficult for the US, so it was replaced with this.

  • you have to admit...for being used as a "mario game" it is pretty good.

  • ok so super mario bros 2 is doki doki panic

    what more

mario sunshine is grand theft auto 1???

  • @JCTZ1996 This game came first then nintendo bought the rights to it and redid it to super mario 2

  • @JCTZ1996 not funny...

  • that means that i passed 2 games at the same time

  • @Kevv06 what the #$&@ is SSBB?

  • @jad4013 SUPER SMASH BROS. BRAWL (Wii)

  • @GKBrful nintendo realeased this game here as Super Mario Bros. 2 because Japan thought the SMB2 they had (the original one) would be 2 hard for us the SMB2 realesed herewas realesed in Japan as Super Mario USA and they realesed the original one here as a bonus game in the SNES release of Super Mario Allstars enhanced versions of the first three but there was no sew for some reason.

  • This game looks extremely familiar... hmmm... nah, must be my imagination

  • It would funny if the Doki Doki Panic Characters Showed up on SSBB

  • @Kevv06 Besides Shyguy and Birdo

  • That last sound that Birdo makes after the third hit is going to haunt me in my dreams.

  • o pudieron cambiarle los personajes a mario para kgarse a los de nintendo tmb po

  • It's so crazy the music is the same

  • So what, did they feel they had to put mario in it for Americans to wanna play it? I hate it when games get dicked up in localization. WHO'S TO BLAME

  • @kugotsumin the reason was onyl becuase nintendo of america Thought USA and other international Gamers would hate The Lost Levels Beucase of hard it was so they decided to use DOKI DOKI has SMB2 For usa and other parts of the world

  • what does yume kojo mean?

  • @howardmckinley2 well yume means dream.. dunno what kojo means.

  • @kugotsumin kojo means factory

  • nintendo thinks just because they can change the sprites, they can qualify it as a mario game.

  • @viacommustdie2 shut up luis your GAY.

  • @jeffgod2 *insert middle finger here*

  • @viacommustdie2 *insert your middle finger up your hole

  • @viacommustdie2 nintendo own this game and super mario bros 2, but it wasnt the real super mario bros from japan because that one looks like the first one.

however I like the music of this game and koji kondo made the music

  • This game was used for terrorist training.

  • is it just me or do those little things she uses to kill birdo at 7:37 look like Gene Simmons heads?

  • As much as I like The Lost Levels and SMB2, both games do had one thing in common, they both are one player game only. To play two players, each one must take turns and share lives. Now is it just me or does every Mario games ending in 2 always had one player.

    - Super Mario Bros. 2 Japan (Lost Levels)

    - Super Mario Bros. 2 USA (Doki Doki Panic)

    - Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

  • i like the mario version better

  • @ultrahammerdude2 lol, the 2 games are the same XD you must say " i like mario sprites better" in that case

  • @Iams1mpatic00 Hey, there are a few gameplay differences, too. In SMB2, you can run by holding B, and you can change characters between levels.

Also, the music is slightly different.

  • @ultrahammerdude2 Me too. =D

  • Really? The only thing that looks changed from Super Mario 2 is the Main Character Sprites!

  • Doki Doki Panic means Big Hearted Panic. That was after of course after doing research. If it weren't for Irate Gamer, I would not have known where America's Super Mario 2 came from. He just got things mixed up by saying everything was stolen from Super Mario 2.

  • @AMEwrestling DUDE, i was about to post that...

  • @jord0110 Post what? That Irate Gamer did his research right, but just mixed it up?

  • @AMEwrestling no, that doki doki panic means heart pounding panic ;)

  • *bubblegum i mean XD

  • the player looks sorta like princess bubble from adventure time O_o

  • i wan't star the game, but my emulator can't, the mine is FCE ultra, help me!!!!!!!, i wan't start the game, but no does not respond to keyboard help me please!!!!!!!

  • the sound effects are SO much better in this version

  • I'm so used to the Mario version that THIS version feels like the sprite swap, even though it's not.

  • Was this game ever released in the U.S ?

  • @jord0110

Yes, a version of it was released and we know it today as Super Mario Brothers 2. The original was never released in the United States.

  • @jord0110 yeah its called super mario bros 2

  • wow, the screen layout ws different (and there was a map select screen!?)

I also had the feeling that the enemy sound effects are different.

Plus, I never knew you could make the river logs fly if you used a pow block while riding them!

  • Wait? WAIT?! Fucking load times?!

  • why does evrybody say its stolen? they are both from nintendo. just for different markets. better marketing

  • It would be cool if you could download this game on the wii

  • they should have just released super mario bros 2 the lost levels in America but they made up on wii

  • The song played on title screen is the same as mario bros 2 ending credits...

  • Can you not jump on stuff and kill them in this, or is he just saving time?

  • @YellowStyx saving time, its kind of a speed run :)

  • @3senough doki doki is the original mario stole this game

  • those things you're chucking at birdo look like gene simmons ;P

  • @3senough no in super mario allstars is SMB the lost levels in japan smb 2

in usa and europe is doki diki panic smb2 with mario luigi toad and peach

  • Some of the sounds are different for example the POW block. Did they have an extra sound chip put in the cartridge?

  • @cookie123456789012 The Famicon Disk System had an extra sound channel, meaning that some versions of NES games sound pretty different from their cartridge forms.

  • someone mentioned that this game was developed by shigeru miyamoto, which is true. one other similarity to the "original" mario series is that the soundtrack composer is koji kondo, who composed all mario and zelda music.

  • You know what i dont get? if super mario 2 i just a rip off of this game, then why is there a POW block?

  • @cesarman1234 mario probably took the idea for POW blocks from this game, seeing as there weren't any POW blocks in the first mario bros. game.

  • uim Mario brothers, the first EVER mario game had POW blocks......

  • @allysownhorde Did it? I think it's time forme to do some nostalgic gaming... lol

  • your good

  • What happens if you get 5 cherries? What does the 1up look like?

  • what the.......this is the same game from super mario bros 2

  • @banjoandmario897 it is the same game, Nintendo just replaced these characters with Mario characters for the American Market

  • @naruto2091 Yes, it was released as Super Mario Bros. 2 outside Japan, but then re-released the game in Japan as Super Mario USA; just like Super Mario Bros. 2 of Japan was released as Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels as part of the Super Mario All Stars collection outside Japan.

  • @naruto2091 Personally I'd like the Japanese REAL version of Super Mario Bros. 2.

  • Doki Doki Panic came first (FACT)

  • Mario made this game right. thats why they now own the characters! >:D

  • Comment removed

  • mario 2 is copied this

  • i find it funny that iconic "Mario" charaters like Shy-Guy, The Snifit's and Birdo werent even featured in an actual Mario game xD

  • mama became luigi. mama luigi?

  • ma è uguale a super mario bros 2!

  • Only main difference I can see besides the characters and slightly different tone in the music is those strange faces that open up to exit the stages. In Super Mario Bros. 2 they're bird faces. In this, I can't quite tell WHAT they are?

  • Oh, and a genie lamp instead of the bottle of potion. Probably a lot more too. Gosh I wish I owned Doki Doki Panic.

  • woogie, what in this game stole from Mario? The only thing that ever appeared in a Mario-based game before was a POW box (from Mario Bros.), but even that behaved differently.

  • it looks like doki doki panic stole from mario and than they just remade the game for mario so either way its more mario than doki doki is doki doki in a way

  • holy crAP its like mario 2 !!!!

  • it is mario 2 was ripped off by this game right here ^^

  • oh my god, it´s true... the music, the stages, everything on the game is the same as SMB 2 american version. I can belive it but it´s true

  • if it wasn't for this game, there would be no birdo or shyguy

  • @sboss Or Bobombs.

  • @sboss no they copied totaly off of mario 2

  • @bobsflixs you got it backwards...

  • @bobsflixs no, this was the original game and mario 2 is a copy of this

  • @sboss yeah, i suppose that's true.

  • @sboss If it weren't for this game, we'd have to play that Lost Levels crap.

  • @bamapagedesign i enjoyed the lost levels

  • @sboss OR pow box

  • Ok people, i didn't make this video, but read this before you comment.

This is SMB2. Nintendo released a game called Doki Doki Panic, but they didn't release this in the US. So, they gave it a mario title, and changed the characters. Thats why SMB2 doesn't have the classic characters. Thats why there is no Squishin' enemies here.

  • i'm confused...isn't this plagerizing (misspelled) i mean i could have swore i was watching SMB2 here....

  • same game. read my comment above

  • doki doki panic was before maro

  • Somehow this vid reminds me of super mario

  • @Ov3ract1ve

Thats because Super Mario 2 was Doki Doki Panic but with Super Mario Characters instead

  • that is because nintendo bought this code and replaced all the characters with mario characters.. then changed some other minor stuff and called it mario 2 ;)

  • because they are the same game. Doki wasn't released in US, so they just edited the cartridge data, and vuala, SMB2.

  • I always wondered why smb2 felt so differen't than the rest

  • @Corbenik me too!

  • It makes me ill that in this entire video not once did the person playing get 5 cherries so we could see what happened in place of the starman. It was as if they were purposely avoiding collecting them!

  • Didn't the POW box originally come from Mario Bros. though? I see some interrelation here.

  • @MacDragard this game comes for the original.. "mario bros 2 " .. Nintendo was lazy to bring the real second part from mario too us. SO they give us that remix game.

And the pow box.. Its normal nintendo Lizenz.. Not from mario only

  • actually, this was the game that Nintendo cloned to create the USA version of Super Mario Bros 2. Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels, is actually the original Mario 2.

  • @jikene i know. And this only because nintendo thought, the "west" lives country cant play the real secoind part.. its only harder and stuff. So tghey do this to make sure, that they can make money with it. And it wasent nintendo , it was mayamoto Sensei himself they did this. The old and the "new" game. ^^

  • ok, well have you noticed that the transition from Super Mario 1 (goombas, turtles, bowser) to Super Mario 2 (shyguys, beezos, wart) are completely UNRELATED other than the characters? Thats because this game (Doki Doki Panic) wasn't released in america. what they did, is replaced the characters with the mario characters, and kept everything else. So Shyguys, birdo, and pow blocks all originated from Doki Doki Panic.

  • I'm fully aware of that, but the POW box didn't originate from DDP; it originated in the original 1983 Mario Bros. arcade game. That's why I said there was some interrelation, and omegahunterx pointed out that DDP was also created by Miyamoto.

  • It looks like SMB 2 !!!

But it was released by NINTENDO ???

    *ggg*

  • It IS SMB2.

  • Because Super Mario 2 you know and love isnt the REAL and ORIGINAL SMB2. The original SMB2 was only released in Japan, and it looked exactly like SMB1, but HARDER. So they didn't release it in the US. At the same time, they released another game to star only in Japan: Doki Doki Panic. They decided to use the Mario characters, and the storyline, and put it in the Doki Doki cartridge. Thats why there are no goombas, or classic characters.

  • these ninjis are like smw style, and they removed the music inside the door with magic lamp, to smb1 music.

  • To the people whining that Nintendo stole this game, calm down.

The lead designer of this game was Shigeru Miyamoto (Donkey Kong, Mario, Zelda etc) and Nintendo published it. Miyamoto worked heavily on this game (more than he did the other Mario 2).

Notice the familiar POW blocks from Mario Bros? The jumping sound effect? Coins? He brought those all into this game straight from Mario.

So while this was the original game, it was pretty closely linked to Mario even before its Mario 2 release.

  • What? Nintendo developed it and Fuji TV published it. Get your facts right before commenting.

  • You're right, I accidentally said "published" instead of "developed."

Never mind the fact that every thing else I said was right and that Nintendo DIDN'T steal this game like people are bitching about.

Way to nitpick stupid shit, kid.

  • and thats ALSO why the SMB1 and SMB2 are completely unrelatable from eachother, other than the characters (that you play as)

  • @omegahunterx This was Super Mario 2 before its release in the States.

  • Doki Doki Panic was on the Famicom Disk System. The game was on a floppy disk rather than a cartridge like we are familiar with.

You'll notice at the very beginning that screen with the 4 characters that doesn't look like Mario 2? That was a saved games screen, the disk-based system allowed saves to be written straight to the disk so games like this could have save files.

So when he selects his character it has to load that game.

  • that's the way I like it, the first three mario games were completely different from eachother. there has never been a sequel to a mario game using the same engine (at least in america)

so galaxy 2 makes me think it may not be as awesome.. but that's just me

  • Haha, listen to that thing at 2:08

    "ARGGH!

  • ha ha at 7:50 those things you threw looked like KISS

  • That is exactly what I thought. Paul Stanley and crew in this game!

  • OMG

Nintendo was so cheap! We will never know if we liked mario 2 because it was mario or because the game was indeed good

  • mario the lost levels is the real mario 2

  • Nintendo just had etoo give Doki Doki Panic a chance. Maybe than we hade a new Franchsie of the company.

  • THE START OF THE SHY GUY

  • that means shy guys actually came from this game

  • And Birdo too apparently

  • well that sucks!

  • hmmm where have I seen this?
