Thanks for not posting tabs, I love your covers and I realised that although learning from your vids takes a bit longer than using tabs, it develops my ear better. To those who want tabs, try listening and getting the notes yourself, it helps develop your ears. Definitely worth it. Ty Darren...
excellent interpretation of the solo, but the third section with the hammer on/pull off at the 17, 19, 20 frets on the 2nd string is not just a straight pattern as you've played here. there's 2 halves of it and the 2nd half is exactly as you've played it (with some indiscernable bending at the end of it if you listen closely), but the first has some hammer on/pull off from the 17th to the 20th back to the 17th, and then to the open string. You can tell when you tempo it down.
are these bits ya left in after ya tutorial for playing along to :) Just ordered a bass and electric guitar, always getting told its easier to learn bass then elctric. that way always come in handy if ya know anyone who needs a stand in for either lol Very Impressive, I used to be able to play it when I was 11 but took me months to learn lol, pitty I did'nt stick to it as am 30 now n no pun intended, had wasted those years lol. I was no way as good as you tho :P Thanks for the video
You play great! The solo is almost perfect (the only differences I see are maybe the effects and the lack of the whammy bar :D). It's also cool to find a cover played along with a backing track. :D
On that third lick, where you have to pull off, any tips on how to get that up to speed? The video totally helped me, I didn't have enough time to learn the solo for my band so I came to youtube. Hmm, only two more days left to get it up to speed. Hmmm
i've put the backing on at slower speeds, get it nailed at a slower tempo then move up a notch, just gotta practice....alot, took me a good full day i'd say, it's an awkward riff.
@saguitarist If you call yourself a guitarist and are at the level where you want to be able to play this solo, then it should be no problem for you to figure it out. You can very clearly see what he is playing here, and I would call this video much better than just a regular tab
DUDE - that's perfection. I was going to post a video lesson on this song but screw it - YOU NAIL IT. Thanks for teaching me something - check out my Stranglehold video.
You can that sound with messing around with a Line 6 guitar port. They are less than $100 and then you plug into you computer. It's amazing - I would suggest using a Blaster Sound Card and use Bose Media Mate speakers - they are under $100 and they sound like $1,000,000...LOL
oye muy bien, me preguntaba si me pobrias mandar la tablatura del solo de esta cancion, porfavor, nadamas contestame para saber si si se puede o que onda, bye
I'm kind of interested in your right hand picking. I think I can see you do all down strokes. And only 12 strokes on part 1 repetitions that means you don't strike the empty strings? I got the feeling that stavgir stroke every note with both up and down strokes.
The only part of this solo i can't get up to speed is Part 3...it's pissin me off! I just gotta dedicate some time, sit there and do it. I get aggrivated then stop and go play something else...metronome here i come! I will get it!
did you get it? LOL! i feel quite like you today when you wrote it! i tried part 3 on 1st string: 12th, 14th and 15th fret. a bit easier but of course not the original...
Of course! But I´m looking for 50% speed! btw, are you sure the first part is correct? maybe you saw stavitgr´s video here on youtube. he´s playing it in another way that sounds quite like your version and is easier to play.
I'm sure, if you watch the studio version, you'll see adrian do the exact same riff movement. stav takes short cuts, feel free to play it that way if it's easier, but if you've listened to my vids and the solos, you'll know they are pretty accurate, just a little patience and practice practice practice.
Bravo, this has been extremely helpful to me! Nailing the little lick at 0:20 has always eluded me for some reason; although your way isn't 100% true to what Adrian is playing, you offer a clean sounding easy way to pull this off. Thank you!!!
Awesome, I've had the SC420 about 1 and a half years, but bought it second hand for 330 pounds and is worth every penny, I love it.
I am about to buy a new guitar, because this one does lack a bit of tone, but only because of the pickups, and I also need a second guitar as backup as well a whammy bar. I was thinking of also putting duncans in it though, what would you suggest for classic rock/metal?
Hopefully I will be playing this song at a gig, so thanks a lot for the vid!
i think i put sh-8 invaders in, a while back so i can't remember. pretty sure they are tho. don't expect any decent clean sound if you put em in tho. solos only lol
adrian is a genius. I'm actually a drummer but also a bedroom guitarist so this is great teaching for people like me who go cross eyed looking at tab! Keep it up
I agree completely. Slowing down the backing track - great idea. Playing each section slowly and giving a clear view of your fingers on the fretboard - extremely helpful. Your tone is awesome as well. The whole vid is obviously a labor of love. The nay-sayers be dammned - THE IRON MAIDEN WANTS YOU!
