what i'm trying to say is that the whole proxy one character was squeezed in too late in the development of the series, which doesn't really add up, or craftily explained away. like i said before, it's like having a premise much like ghost in the shell (consciousness and existentialism, hence the title). then evolved quite awkwardly, with the lead supervisors unyielding and unwilling to give up old ideas (that most likely was theirs).

then attack mosk, causing vincent to "go back" to romdeau, which i again, i don't know how he was manipulated to do. then bring back monad, so it can set off vincent, triggering the events covered in the series. then carefully have re-l go with him, even though proxy never had anyone else working under him. (see how the conspiracy doesn't work when the antagonist have not a single underling -- innocent or not)?

really? even the part that proxy one kinda decided that he's tired an all, so he'll just split another personality that would carry the burden for him (even though it proxy one never forgot one thing about himself, btw). then have this "vincent" go to mosk, live there for a while, "make him decide" he too want his memory locked away, which honestly i don't know how proxy one pulled off.

the whole series was replete with plot holes and incoherence --

gives you the feeling the whole project went to a series of major revisions. firstly being based on the Æon Flux film and the mystery of dolls killing humans (now you got Ghost in The Shell), but as they developed it further, shifted to more of the idea of "Proxies", which seems at first was to be the "spirit' of the domes, but became entities themselves in the film.

the "Proxy One" entity, which can be understood as a side of a single entity divided into 2 in a "love/hate" sort of relationship with humans only seems to be a factor introduced very late in the development, as they needed to have the element of mystery to the very end. "how did he had that much control of the events and the smallest details to make sure that vincent had to confront monad and end up killing her??? wait... i thought he proxy one loved monad??"

and episode 15's only purpose seems to add more of this surrealism (which was plenty enough, thank you) by breaking the 4th wall and despite the "quiz show" being broadcasted, globally, apparently, it had little to no effect to the whole series. seems like something that was hastily done. not to mention episode 19 that only serves as a criticism to disney and western cartoons in general, but judging by the west's acceptance of japanese anime, it's hardly undeserved.
