She wasn't murdered, she committed suicide. In her first attempt, she drank bleach. Why she did it, being one of the most beautiful woman in the world, is a mystery.
Must have watched this 1000 times. Don't know why it works so well, but it was the inspiration for all the Inger videos I have posted. Maybe it is the connection between Inger, her husband and Nat. I love Inger, Nat, and "Embraceable You." I sure miss people like them - so talented and so gracious.
This is my late Aunt Inger Stevens!! My new science fiction web series "20 Dollar" pays homage to her in the first episode (Life Is Priceless) from famous episode of The Hitch Hiker in TZ. She was my inspiration to become an actress and empower myself as a producer. She is much missed and will forever be in our hearts. Thank you for this beautiful video.
The facts are there to support that Inger Stevens was murdered.(1)she was according to friends very excited about just signing on to star in a new tv series and very happy about dating Burt Reynolds. In comes a former spouse from long ago possibly a jealous person.(does this have oj written all over it or what?)
She may have been force fed alot of pills, knocked around and left to die. Read the book "A Farmer's Daughter" or investigate the case online.
Great job with the tribute vid; nicely done and very respectful of her memory. Somewhat ironic in using Nat Cole's music: Ike Jones once worked for Mr. Cole as a producer. Thanks for posting this tribute!
I ghostwrote for Star Trek 1987,and requested Gene Roddenberry cast a woman who resembles Inger Stevens for the role of 7of 9.Roddenberry died before she was cast I believe, but someone heard me.I remember her most from The Farmer's Daughter.
It's sad she died so young. She was great with Harry Belafonte in the world..devil..flesh. Your video tribute is great but it doesn't have the best pic of her which is on her IMDB page. She is just breathtaking in that picture.
The tragedy of Ingar Stevens is the same as most performers. They never realize that happiness comes from within. That to rely on someone else for approval will keep you searching for something that lies within yourself. When you perceive that approval will not come you just simply check out in one way or another.
Since posting a comment two months ago, I have found some performances of Inger's - Twilight Zone, Route 66, etc. She was good, really good, in every role. To anyone involved in bringing back old TV and movies: More Inger please. She was so cool.
Inger's words: "Sex is the ultimate, the most beautiful expression of affection between a man and a woman. When it can create such happiness, why shouldn't it be used? ... But I do believe the element of love must be present for the right kind of relationship. Without it, sex becomes promiscuity, which is just as much an offense against its beauty as is trying to hide it from view. Certainly I have had affairs. I am a woman, am I not? Why shouldn't I?"
Great job Marachek, the pictures, the music, Nat Cole, Oscar Moore - perfect. Did I ever have a crush on Inger as a boy! Extremely attractive but there is something else there too which haunts - like Marilyn.

I heard she was secretly married to a black man but wouldn't talk about it for fear of losing her career....Does anyone know about this ?
haweye79 1 year ago
@haweye79, Inger's second husband was Ike Jones. A UCLA graduate, he worked for Nat Cole. They were married but separated at the time of her death.
sseklof 1 year ago
@haweye79 Oops! I did not answer your question. Yes, Ike is a black man, and yes, they kept their marriage secret to protect Inger's career.

It is so tragic that she killed herself. One is always troubled by the question, "Why?" and wonders wether her death could have been prevented.

thats a direct quote from the book by Bill Paterson. She was certainly open when it came to sex.

Yep, I was going to credit Mr. Patterson's book but I couldn't get it to come in under the 500 character limit. Lotsa things I never knew about her.

I agree that she's been overlooked today. Although a book was recently published about her, A&E nor any other network has ever done a bio of her.
