@overbyjames After the healing period, he's back to his normal self. No accidents, problems or emotional issues. It was the best thing for him and we're glad we went thru with it. I just found out that my friend had this surgery done on his male cat several years ago and it was a lifesaver for them too. Keeping your dog from licking the procedure area will help it heal faster and will prevent scar tissue which can lead to complications. It's tough, but worth it! Good luck!
@overbyjames You're very welcome. It will be very difficult seeing your dog so sad and uncomfortable while recovering and wearing the E-collar but it's for his own good. :( You are a good and responsible parent to care so much! Best wishes to both of you!
@SuperEgg08 Thank you. He just started eating and drinking last night so that's a good sign. He's still not happy. Cats really make sure you know they are not happy so I think he's getting better. :)
Poor kitty, it's so hard when we can't explain to them what is happening. He has a loving mom though and that can make all the difference in a speedy and healthy recovery.
@kimdemby Yes, that's the worst part - when they are so confused. :( We took the E-collar off so he could eat, drink, and clean his face. He felt better after that.
I'm having this done on my dog, will he behave any differently because of the surgery?
