They do make music like this still, except it is the sound of Urban Contemporary gospel. You see, before Michael Jackson ruined RnB by selling so many "Off the Wall" and "Thriller" albums, the standard for Black music success was Gold (500,000) units sold. MJ proved that with the right mix, RnB could sell zillions. This mix was lethal (great looks, slim body, add guitars, lower the drums, add a crazy video). All the real RNB talent was fired because they were not MJ. Soul music died.
