  • This song make me TKO.It's mellow and smooth, groovy !!

  • Just like Dennis Edwards of the Temptations, Teddy did so much with his voice. Rough , smooth, funky and cool all at once. What Sam Cooke started TP finished.

  • Dad use to play this when he would get drunk.

  • Cant help but appreciate good music!!!

  • see here every time i hear this song men.... i take shot of vadca in salute the great r&b icon Teddy P. for this song with a generous message on how love can't be taken for granted... music like this is what had our parents have morals on marriage, family. Thus, times like this a quickly being erased and degrating in hip hop and new r&b is pushing those moralities away.

  • Ever have one of those days? A little "Teddy" sure does help set the mood! lol

  • True Love Therapy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They do make music like this still, except it is the sound of Urban Contemporary gospel. You see, before Michael Jackson ruined RnB by selling so many "Off the Wall" and "Thriller" albums, the standard for Black music success was Gold (500,000) units sold. MJ proved that with the right mix, RnB could sell zillions. This mix was lethal (great looks, slim body, add guitars, lower the drums, add a crazy video). All the real RNB talent was fired because they were not MJ. Soul music died.

  • @BlaxxBchr Hey you, you don't know what you're talking about. Granted, they don't make good R&B like this anymore but what kind of drugs are you on to say that MJ ruined R&B when he brought this kind of music to the masses/world. It's 1 thing to sound ignorant but you don't have to live your life like that

  • @biffmj Look, dummy! Bringing Black music to the masses and relabeling it "Pop" music so other races buy it, sounds good on paper. Except what really happened was a complete paradigm shift in what was considered successful for Black artists in the early 80's. I was there. I am 43. I watched all my favorite RNB artist get dropped and/or told they were too unattractive to sell well. and had to change stat. After MJ's broke sales records, image and sales became top priority, not talent!

  • @BlaxxBchr

    you speak absolute truth....

the music industry will have to change if they want to keep making profits though..

because people aren't really buying CD's any more..

  • @BlaxxBchr Preach! Very very good point. I'm your age and I could not agree more.

  • @BlaxxBchr MJ did not distroy RnB. Hip Hop, Rap, and greedy record companies have high jacked the music industry. They target the young consumer who has his/her parent's money but don't have their parent's taste in music. Plain and simple, it's all about making more money not putting out a quality product. Stop buying junk and these ass holes will go out of business.

  • @cjfl1962 could not have said it better,Its a postive to have your eyes open,Peace.

  • @dreadtodred I'll realy feel strong about this subject. I know in America we have freedom to listen to what we want and if these kids want to listen to hip hop and rap; it's their choice but it is a shame to just follow all the fish up stream instead of think and listening for yourself, that includes choice of music. They can do better.

  • @cjfl1962 you are absolutely correct they can do better.Their ears are being trained to accept a negative view of the true beauty of music it self .The feelings, the creativtity, the prose and poetry.invovled.Thanks and take care

  • Just let it go.....TKO

  • Sometimes i wonder is it actually possible to make music like this again, and i honestly can say "Hell No" and honestly speaking, that scares the fuck out of me ya dig. but ha that's evolution for your ass. ...........Anyway R,I.P. Teddy boy cause his shit is and always be legend to me ya dig.

  • @134am There's no such thing as EVOLUTION, man does NOT evolve. He only REPEATS. "nothing new under the sun" my friend. And, that's from THE GOOD BOOK! :) The reason you don't hear GOOD MUSIC like this anymore, its not that there are no more TEDDY's, LUTHER's, BARRY's or MICHAEL's... It's just that the MUSIC BUSINESS is NOT INTERESTED in putting out RIGHTEOUS TALENT anymore! They would rather give $20M to a JUSTIN BIEBER and SOULJA BOY... LADY GAGAs, while the REAL ARTISTS still struggle!

  • @LPATWILLFILM thats true alot of talent gets ovrlooked for not being what entertainment says is not star quality,

  • @LPATWILLFILM No it's a combination of both Man evolves slowly repeating the example set by the people of the past

  • @LPATWILLFILM But it's OUR fault..cuz it's us as the public that buys the stupid stuff on radio like Gaga,Rihanna, soulja boy and bieber. It's people buying it..that's why.

  • @Entje No, it is NOT OUR fault... It's the INDUSTRY'S fault. Think about it... People BUY what is available and pushed on them. Only the WEAK-MINDED fall for the Oke-Doke of "going along" with what their "Society Pushes On Them." The Powers that Be RUN your world. You ONLY "buy into" or "not Buy into it." But, at the end of the day, MOST PEOPLE BUY INTO IT because otherwise they feel they are "being left behind" and not being "cool, hip, modern and progressive." But, it is all by design.

  • @Entje Even if every person in the world stopped buying LADY GOO GOO, JUSTIN TIMBERFAKE, JUSTIN DWEIBER... The Industry would STILL push that! Because that's what time it is! They WANT YOU, even if NOT "you" they want the KIDS to listen to it and KIDS do not have any real background of what GOOD MUSIC is, so that is how these so-called "artists" are successful. What Lady GooGoo OR Dwieber CD have you bought? I would NOT waste my $, but your KIDS will and that is what the INDUSTRY KNOWS.

  • @Entje That is how they "weed out" what is acceptable and not acceptable to "generations." Look at the JUNK that THIS GENERATION "promotes" and "supports." But, just 30 years ago there was a generation that would have never "backed" such things...So, The Powers That Be steadily promote and push its IDEALS on the NEXT GENERATION to get them prepared for "acceptance" and "acceptability" of the NEXT THING it, I say, IT wants to PUSH and PROMOTE. INDUSTRY is a POWER STRUCTURE and they...

  • @Entje MUSIC INDUSTRY is no different. That Power Structure no longer WANTS to promote or push REAL ARTISTS with REAL TALENTS and REAL GIFT. That takes too much time, too much money and too much effort. It is easy to grab a cute, little blond boy from SUBURBAN "somewhere" CANADA, sign him up with USHER (to give him some "street cred"), tell the RADIO STATIONS, MTV & BET (that's right) to PUMP HIM UP, put him in TEEN MAGS and viola! YOU'VE GOT A STAR! That's THEIR DOING and "fault" not "ours"

  • @LPATWILLFILM AMEN. It's funny I read posts very similar to yours on many, many other tunes here on youtube. Do you think that corporate American execs (who I feel know NOTHING about music, but have such a love for money, aka, greed) have too much power and dictate who will be marketed? I just don't get it, and it saddens me so very much. I really yearn for beautiful music again and not the (C)rap they put out today.

  • @LPATWILLFILM Fuck u faggot it cant be remade not never you fuckin idiot cause the world's priorities has changed in the that this type soul derived from a time when the world was not so materialistic and soul meant something to even the the producer of this type of music. Promoters today dont live this anymore hell u got puff daddy making shit like making the band thats the type of shit that im speaking of, the leaders are corrupt so how can their be good musicians, who would support it ?

  • @134am Because KNUCKLEHEAD music does NOT come from Politicians, Promoters... MUSIC IS THE GIFT OF THE LORD! Music is a SPIRITUAL GIFT. GOD'S GIFTS ARE THE SAME TODAY, YESTERDAY and FOREVERMORE. The problem is... TODAY'S people (here's where I agree with you) do NOT want to receive nor hear the SINCERE GIFTS FROM GOD anymore. That is on level from MUSIC to MORALS.

  • @LPATWILLFILM I ant say shit bout no politicians asshole, i said priorities you non proof reading mutherfucker. and furthermore a lot what the lord gives is mised used or taken advantage of even in the music business or better yet especially the music business because the promoters are who writes the contract and the artist is to adhere and nine times out of ten the promoter is gonna pick a mutherfucker that gonna get them paid and laid and can give a fuck about real talent fuck boy!!!!!!!!!

  • @LPATWILLFILM The Truth!

  • @LPATWILLFILM I am in COMPLETE agreement with you!!

  • @134am: I couldn't have said it better myself. I don't want to get started. One Love. :-)

  • @134am I think that it is possible to make music like this again. 'Just need to find singers with that old school richness that a Teddy, Luther, Aretha, or Gladys Knight had and have, and couple that with some songs with good content, live instruments, and passion. Since major record companies are not as prevelent today with the advent of the internet, all it would take is enough people putting out that kind of music, along with clever mass marketing. 'Let the scouting begin!

  • my mom use to play this late at night cleaning up.

  • @bestmusic96... what's a voiceorder? Do you mean a voiceover? Teddy will live forever with his music. I was @ the Greek Theater when he performed with Stephanie Mills. He had to sit for many of the love songs because there was such a HUGE height difference. I loved it!!!

  • @Ohgrowup1 They mean the Autotuning. waht just about everthing you hear on the radio now on the so called R&B/HipHop stations. Make your voice sound like like a weak version of Roger and Zapp.

  • @Ohgrowup1 best meant vocoder, a device that passes the voice through an electronic circuit to create a computerized effect. Zapp and Roger rocked with this device.

  • I'm 21 and I had to run this back ...
