They are supporting huge multinational companies like Philip Morris International who are responsible for the deaths of 6 million people a year worldwide. I'm not a fan of protesting, it worked in the 60's but it doesn't nowadays. However I don't think people should stop, because while the government enforces these protests and do what they usually do (Be forceful). They will eventually incite enough anger and cause an uprising. With people already angry about their governments, the police work against the very thing they are trying to defend/uphold. It will cause the people to uprise and HOPEFULLY take back what is rightfully theirs.
Of course all of this is in violence, I would doubt to ever see change occur from within a government. Maybe that's just my failed sense of "faith" in a government but it's my opinion. Anarchy isn't the answer, it's really difficult to say what will work. No matter what leaders will EVENTUALLY take advantage of leadership. They need to be held accountable, if they do wrong in office or don't do what they claim to do then they get jailed, fined, or booted... Or all. Maybe a public stoning? ;)

I love it when you see protesters smoking cigarettes for example. They are supporting huge multinational companies like Philip Morris International who are responsible for the deaths of 6 million people a year worldwide. They have massive advertising campaigns trying to attract smokers in Africa and the developing world. People in Africa are not educated and don't have the tools to quit. They become addicted and spend what little money they have on tobacco instead of food for their family.

anarchists are not opposed to organisation. anarchists are opposed to HIERARCHICAL organisation. laws aren't neccesarily hierarchical, for instance: "people should be treated equal in equal situations". that's a law, but it doesn't propose any kind of hierarchy.
only the people that don't know what they are talking about would claim that the definition of anarchy is a situation without laws and/or organisation.

I'm not a fan of protesting, it worked in the 60's but it doesn't nowadays. However I don't think people should stop, because while the government enforces these protests and do what they usually do (Be forceful). They will eventually incite enough anger and cause an uprising. With people already angry about their governments, the police work against the very thing they are trying to defend/uphold. It will cause the people to uprise and HOPEFULLY take back what is rightfully theirs.

Of course all of this is in violence, I would doubt to ever see change occur from within a government. Maybe that's just my failed sense of "faith" in a government but it's my opinion. Anarchy isn't the answer, it's really difficult to say what will work. No matter what leaders will EVENTUALLY take advantage of leadership. They need to be held accountable, if they do wrong in office or don't do what they claim to do then they get jailed, fined, or booted... Or all. Maybe a public stoning? ;)

I followed this closely yesterday and was quite mad when I read in the BBC that the RBS workers were hanging from upper story windows waving money out at the protesters. I wonder if this is what sparked their furry and caused them to start smashing the windows. One thing I have noticed is you don't dare an anarchist, or anyone that isn't afraid to fight, to do so.
