u did good! slow it down a bit and it would have been perfect! u did very well on the hard parts and u kno exactly where im talking about lol. im playing this as a solo this summer sometime..hope i do as well as u did! :)
Keep your flute parallel! Also, make sure you give each note it's value, dont cut it short! Really, really, really nice job overall and bonus for memorizing it! ;D
keeping your flute parallel is actually really bad. slightly higher would have been good, but keeping it parallel results in back problems in the later years.
in the begining of the sng watch that you slur notes in the correct places and stacco in the correct places. other that your flute angle it was pretty good. you seemed tense. i remember doing this for a flute solo a few years ago and im pretty inpressed with how you handled it and your style. keep up the good work [even tho its a old video and im sure your much improved by now]
okay, you are on your way, kid. lol just yah, thats not the way its suposed to be played rythm wise, and you could probs work on your vibrato. but othe rthan that it was very nice.
Assuming you are playing the FR. JOS. GOSSEC version, I probably have your part. I am going to try to play this on oboe with a friend playing on piano. Is there a piano accompianment to this song for the flute that I can download for free or that you can send me?
what piece are you playing ( i know its gavotte but there are many songs named gavotte out on the market lol) but can u tell me who wrote it and any other info that may help? thanks (oh, ps, ive been a floutist for about 5 years and i have some tips for you: 1. hold that flute up higher 2. you can hear your tonguing which isnt that pretty, try saying "dooo" instead of "toooo" it will sound prettier 3. have you ever talked to ur teacher about getting a more advanced flute, u should :) GREAT JOB!!
Umm that isn't the rhythm to that piece, I'm playing it and know for a fact that isn't how it is to be played... sorry but you just need to practice a little more.. It was my audition peice for an emsamble and they said it was played very nicely and that isn't how I played it..
make sure your fingers match with how and when ur tonging. There's a lot of fuzzyness going on. I do believe the sixteenth notes and tongued and not slured, but that might vary.
i play this song in festival tommorow actually, and it's pretty interesting to learn. all i can say is that the very last note is short :P haha good job :)
Your were so good and I think it is great that ur a boy and play the flute

im actually playing this song for a solo and i have to perfect it in two weeks, any tips?!?! thnx in advance
xLivinlife11x 3 years ago
1) Be patient in reading the notes. Don't try to be fast, just relax your fingers.
2) Be aware of your position(not like me in my video!)
3) Practice your blowing and how you play your notes(Articulation).
Goodluck! Practice makes perfect. : )

Sorry I don't know the name of the version. I think Gavotte in D Major by JS Bach. It is a duet.
Thanks for your tips..
