When DBGT comes out on Nicktoons and my dad gets a new TV, im going to go on my apartment balcony, put the TV on the edge (I'm on the 3rd story), of the balcony, get a sledgehammer, hit it a few times, then get my Pellet Rifle and shoot the screen a few times until it falls off the edge and falls about 3 floors. I'm glad that anime is coming back to American television, but it shows how far Cartoon Network has really fallen. The Dragon Ball franchise is what made Cartoon Network grow and thrives. It was what brought the fans to the channel, therefore growth to the channel. I'm happy the Nicktoons is really bringing anime back and GT on. It shows that there might be a boom on anime. I don't care if it's old series (cause frankly I'm starting to get rid of moeanime) but it shows that people care.
I really hope Nicktoons picks up even more Funimation anime in the future, heck, they could make a whole anime block for the weekends in my opinion. Throw Yu Yu Hakusho, Sgt Frog, and One Piece on there- get tons of ratings, and make Cartoon Network realize that they gave up a great thing when they got rid of Toonami.

Another point you should mention is that EVERY anime that airs on American TV has at least 1 edit. Plus, it probably wouldn't be the Networks fault, or the licensor's fault (unless it's 4kids, or any non-anime company that licensed something like DiC with Sailor Moon, or Nelvana with "Cardcaptors"). American TV has to comply with the FCC restrictions, so of course it will be edited.
the only thing i dislike about gt is that it was never part of the actual series.the creator db and dbz gave the rights to another group to allow to make another db series but he wanted no part of it.i heard it was something like that.thats why gt was so different and goofy like.

personally gt wasn't half bad to me not as good as dbz or db but this shows that nicktoons is bringing the dragon ball trend. Thi might mean that after dbgt ends which will probably be in one year or a half depending on air times they might get db and dbz. Why not they had dbz kai dbz remake not as good as the original, dbz movies, and now they got dbgt. It has promising signs but hey I'm an optimist

The manga never had GT, Akira Toriyama who created Dragon Ball, HATES GT, he doesnt like it, he calls it "non canon" to the series. Toriyama just did the character designs, and I think some of the story not sure, but like i said, he doesnt like GT, since Dragon Ball (in the manga the Z part of Dragon Ball isnt called Z in Japan so Dragon Ball in general) never had that part of the series in the manga
Oh no no no no... no. DBGT should never be aired again. It should be buried at sea, and never seen again. DBGT was nothing more that Toei's piss poor way of cashing in on the anime. It was unnecessary and used non-canon story elements such as the Sacred Water, or movie villains in the Super 17 arc. And people wonder why Toriyama rejected it as a true sequel.

Its interesting to note that both dragon ball and nickelodeon both emphasize the color orange. maybe that was the hook that got them to air dragon ball z kai in the first place? nahhhh. Also, there needs to be a new dragon ball series with present-day animation (besides the games). quite a good point about the hidden support the dragon ball series might be giving for other animes.

GT isn't that bad, but why couldn't they bring the Buu Saga first? Kai ends at the Cell Saga, meaning Goku is dead, suddenly he going to be alive and training with Uub. For the kids who only know DBZ trough Kai won't know what's happening! They won't know how Goku became Super Saiyan 3 and they won't know how Goku came back to life, they won't know all the new characters from the Buu saga that will be on GT. Its interesting to note that both dragon ball and nickelodeon both emphasize the color orange. maybe that was the hook that got them to air dragon ball z kai in the first place? nahhhh. Also, there needs to be a new dragon ball series with present-day animation (besides the games). quite a good point about the hidden support the dragon ball series might be giving for other animes.

GT isn't that bad, but why couldn't they bring the Buu Saga first? Kai ends at the Cell Saga, meaning Goku is dead, suddenly he going to be alive and training with Uub. For the kids who only know DBZ trough Kai won't know what's happening! They won't know how Goku became Super Saiyan 3 and they won't know how Goku came back to life, they won't know all the new characters from the Buu saga that will be on GT. I'm surprised funimation went along wit this.

@Forevermoonlighte of course we asked for more dragonball but gt was just a dissapointing attempt to satisfy our wishes. It doesnt do justice to any other characters besides goku and the fights arent as good. Besides, the problem here isnt that they are airing gt, its that they are just skipping the buu saga. It wont make any sense to people who are watching it for the first time. No one will know who goten, uub, videl, supreme and elder kai and what a ssj3 are!

Why? Why!? What good will come from airing GT? It makes no sense to go from the Cell Saga to the GT saga. The Buu saga was one of the most important ones. You can't go from a dead Goku to an alive and well Goku with no explaination! Everyone who only watched Kai will be asking, "Why is Goku alive?" "Who is Videl?" "Who is Pan?" "Who is Goten?" "Who is Uub?" "Who is Majin Buu?" You can't do that!
