@roflTMNT The German luftwaffe was disband after WWII, but with the threat of the Soviet Union, West Germany was allowed to rebuild it's airforce for defense purpose. Today, the luftwaffe is under NATO, but it has the Gernan neighbors nervous at times.

Granted the Eurofighter is a multi-role fighter it still needs to be combat proven. Like I said its a grand design using multinational cooperation for a universal fighter that all the nations of Europe can deploy is genius. The only other nation that has access to full scale American defense technology is the United Kingdom because of their special defense cooperation agreement. The Eurofighters still in its infancy but only time will tell of its legacy. I still don't think it was the Luftwaffes best move to sell its fleet of proven airframes like the Tornado and Fulcrum for the Eurofighter in a move to please the EU namely France in particular
The European conglomerates are trying to bring an integrated close air support aspect of the aircraft up to speed but it was not originally intended to be a multirole aircraft but in order to win sales in todays defense market you have to be multi-mission capable. I wouldn't say the F-16 is the king of the hill, most nations fly it because its a cheap alternative to most air superiority fighters and you can have nearly two F-16s for the price of one Eurofighter

But at the same time not many countries besides China and Russia are selling arms to Pakistan because of how unstable that nation is. The United States, Russia and China are the only nations with overall next generation fighters. And the US has the new generation F-18F variant, F-15SE Silent Eagle, F-35, F-22 and the next generation strike fighter which is a tactical UAV
The F-22A Raptor is not being exported that's why there are no international customers for it. The United States only allows a certain level of technology to go abroad ie. The Longbow Apache is sold without the fire control radar. The F-35 Lightning II is slated to go to the UK, Netherlands, Italy, Israel, Australia and Canada with several other countries looking at it. The YF-23 Black Widow was cancelled because it lost out to the F-22

The A400 is behind schedule, the Tiger fleet is grounded with wiring issues, the NH-90 has been deemed subpar. The Eurofighter is no more superior than a new generation F-16 with improved avionics.

To those in both germany, and the US who want to talk shit to each other, 100 yrs ago 1/4 of the entire white population of the US was German, or of German ancestry. Germany didn't start WW1, and maybe if Britain and the US would have put a leash on France the second wouldn't have happened. The Germans are no slouches, and neither are we.

@roflTMNT The German luftwaffe was disband after WWII, but with the threat of the Soviet Union, West Germany was allowed to rebuild it's airforce for defense purpose. Today, the luftwaffe is under NATO, but it has the Gernan neighbors nervous at times.

Granted the Eurofighter is a multi-role fighter it still needs to be combat proven. Like I said its a grand design using multinational cooperation for a universal fighter that all the nations of Europe can deploy is genius. The only other nation that has access to full scale American defense technology is the United Kingdom because of their special defense cooperation agreement. The Eurofighters still in its infancy but only time will tell of its legacy. I still don't think it was the Luftwaffes best move to sell its fleet of proven airframes like the Tornado and Fulcrum for the Eurofighter in a move to please the EU namely France in particular

The European conglomerates are trying to bring an integrated close air support aspect of the aircraft up to speed but it was not originally intended to be a multirole aircraft but in order to win sales in todays defense market you have to be multi-mission capable. I wouldn't say the F-16 is the king of the hill, most nations fly it because its a cheap alternative to most air superiority fighters and you can have nearly two F-16s for the price of one Eurofighter

Pakistan is supplementing its fighter force with the Chinese copy of the Eurofighter. But at the same time not many countries besides China and Russia are selling arms to Pakistan because of how unstable that nation is. Just as Saudi Arabia and many Arab nations have supplemented their air forces with first generation F-15s and updated F-16s because of the Eurofighters lack of ground attack capability. That's its only real flaw

BTW, the aircraft you referred to are called JF-17 Thunder aircrafts Even Pakistan is currently updating its F16s to block C/D and has purchased new block 50/52 f16s but I hope it had bought EFs. By the way, Eurofighter is a multirole aircraft...it would take sometime before it establishes its mark because lets face it, upsetting the king of the hill (F16) would take sometime :D

The Viggen is outdated and was replaced by the Gripen. The Eurofighter and Rafale are both Cold War platforms and lack full on capabilities. The Su-37 is comparable to the F-18 Hornet. The United States, Russia and China are the only nations with overall next generation fighters. And the US has the new generation F-18F variant, F-15SE Silent Eagle, F-35, F-22 and the next generation strike fighter which is a tactical UAV

The F-22A Raptor is not being exported that's why there are no international customers for it. The United States only allows a certain level of technology to go abroad ie. The Longbow Apache is sold without the fire control radar. The F-35 Lightning II is slated to go to the UK, Netherlands, Italy, Israel, Australia and Canada with several other countries looking at it. The YF-23 Black Widow was cancelled because it lost out to the F-22

@FryNorth The Netherlands is one of the major contributors to the F-35 project and the main reason why it is superior to the Eurofighter, is that it was designed as an integrated interceptor and close air support aircraft. The Eurofighter is a Cold War design and now even the Brits will tell it was designed lacking the ground attack capability. Hence why England wants to supplement its Eurofighters with a fleet of its own F-35s

The MiG-29 can go toe to toe with the F-15 Eagle & the F-18 Hornet the premier air defense fighters of the world. Germany pretty much threw away it's superiority by buying such a subpar machine. They could have at least done like a lot of the worlds air arms and bought into the F-35 program

By throwing all these countries together youre not coming up with a top notch fighter youre just appeasing economies. The threats posed against the UK are different than those of Germany, France etc etc. Germany does not need the Eurofighter

@kimjani All the Germans did in buying the Eurofighter was try to appease the French by having similar equipment. Just about all the EADS products in service in Germany are plagued with problems. The A400 is behind schedule, the Tiger fleet is grounded with wiring issues, the NH-90 has been deemed subpar. The Eurofighter is no more superior than a new generation F-16 with improved avionics.

The P-51 Mustang was all a US Design, only thing the US used was the rocket aka jet propulsion technology and made it their own like any other military out there. Everything everyone says can be stolen from somewhere, but someone was smart enough to make it better as we go. Be it Russian, American, German etc etc everyone was good at something and for years stole it from each other, the surprise part is it was mostly stolen from people like you and i who had a good idea.

The original all US designed P-51, with the asthmatic Allison engine was garbage above medium altitude. British Rolls Royce engineers saw the potential of the Mustang & modified the airframe to accept the BRITISH Rolls Royce engine. The British even named the ac 'Mustang.' Ergo, you cannot define it as an 'all American design.'
