I get what you're trying to say but if i had the choice of a st8 pill or a gay pill i'd take 2 of the gay ones for sure! I LOVE being gay & i LOVE the fact I'm not the normal guy! All the expectations of st8 men and women are so tiring. If a gay man is single at 50 it's fine but if a man is then the rumours start & if a couple get married and don't have kids then more rumours about them being unable etc.

Though there are many things I would change, I would never change me being gay. To think of the numerous times I have been able to give people a different perspective and the respect I've gained from people for being muself, I'd never want to miss out on that. I would have given anything in the world to not be gay. But now that I have struggled so hard to accept myself I wouldn't change it if I could. I think if there wasn't so much hate towards them the suicide rates of gays would go down exponentially and they would be quite happy.

I understand what you say, but I can't agree. As you say, people, in and outside the so-called "gay community" have made an issue of everything about me: musical taste, political views, life philosophies, religion, etc., and I wouldn't change anything of that, why this? As I read, erasing differences is not the solution for anybody. I have bigger differences than my sexuality and I don't even consider I'm different, so...no pill for me. It's not pride, it's just comfort in my skin.
You're a good man :) I see alot of folks confused by the "take a pill to be str8" comment. This has been a question among loads of my friends gay & str8. They all agree that being gay CAN bring troubles from people who don't have a "worldly view" on things. But really, singling out differences between people and using those differences in order to justify hating them is pretty useless. And I mean that across the board, races, skin colour, sexuality... everything.

@soejammm Maybe nobody, but it's not sexuality which makes a difference, it's our personalities, ideas, experiences, etc. Gay people is just as different between each other as any other group of persons. Some of them are quite average persons and others not, like anything else in life.

hey man, the whole taking a pill thing kinda got me. i actually came out 2 my roommate like 4 days ago and we talked about how if i made the wish 2 b straight would i do it, and i said no. it took me a while to accept who i am (i'm 19) and im still in the process of coming out. but i can proudly say ive truly deeply fallen in love 4 the 1st time (with a guy) and its the best feeling ever. i wouldn't trade it 4 the world. thats just a memory now but i know it won't b the last time i feel that way

And I wouldn't choose it (I didn't even struggle with that fact, but I did with other facts in my life that I wouldn't change, either). I would have given anything in the world to not be gay. But now that I have struggled so hard to accept myself I wouldn't change it if I could. Like many of the things you just pointed out, it's a real eye opener. Sometimes I think maybe I wouldn't be as good of a person, or just an ignorant person if I wasn't gay.So in that sense I am truly grateful. @markaaron5 against by color and being discriminated against by sexual orientation are both really wrong and that is why gays are TRYING to do something about it and TRYING to be excepted such as African Americans. I'm not saying they are exactly the same, but I am comparing the two causes. We differ here. I do not see being gay as a mental problem whatsoever. I think if there wasn't so much hate towards them the suicide rates of gays would go down exponentially and they would be quite happy.

I understand what you say, but I can't agree. As you say, people, in and outside the so-called "gay community" have made an issue of everything about me: musical taste, political views, life philosophies, religion, etc., and I wouldn't change anything of that, why this? As I read, erasing differences is not the solution for anybody. I have bigger differences than my sexuality and I don't even consider I'm different, so...no pill for me. It's not pride, it's just comfort in my skin.

If I could take a pill to cure myself of all physical illness and thus being able to do the job of my dreams, I'd absolutely take it, as you said.
