They fit together. It is easier to see if you count for the continental slope (parts of the land which are below sea level). It is also similarities in rock structures on both sides of the coast line. When these landmasses are placed in their predrift location, these ancient mountain chains form a nearly continuous belt. Europe is "drifting" away from America. Every time there is an earthquake, a plate/plates move slightly. Earthquake is associated with plate boundaries.

New oceanic crust is made all the time along the mid-Atlantic ridge (that's why the Atlantic sea gets bigger and bigger). Measurements indicate that the oceanic crust gets older and older further away from the Atlantic ridge. How shall we explain the enormous layers of sediment? Where the oil and gas are located? The sediments can be several km deep. Sediments are debris from erosion.

i think that it is a sad sad thing that our children are being taught that the world is millions of years old and that pangea was a contant. when those things are nothing more then theory. neather have been proven. yet they are in textbooks and our children are learning lies. did you know they had to remove mexico and some of florida to get the contenents to fit together?
