nollie is an ollie on the nose while riding in REGULAR

the term fakie refers to tricks done while riding backwards in regular. So a fakie ollie would be doing an ollie riding backwards.

however i believe the confusion begins when your riding switch and do an ollie off the nose. would it be a switch nollie or fakie ollie? a question for the ages

No, he's right. A nollie is when riding in your regular stance, but popping from the nose. Fakie is on your switch side but again, popping from the nose.

to nollie, ride normally but move up so your front foot is on the nose and your back foot in the middle of the board and pop off the front.

a fakie ollie is similar but the opposite stance, so pretty much a normal ollie but while moving backwards.
