This is awesome but one thing... you kept the same bassline playing for the verses and the chorus and the solo? I think it would've sounded a bit better if you'd used Chris' actual chorus/solo bassline... But still epically awesome.

@Pierrotechnique There is literally tonnes of stuff on that album going on in the background, and yet it all works. A lot of it aids the song in a way we don't even realize, I'm still finding new stuff after listening to the album for years. The whole thing just fits so well you don't notice. It's easy to take it for granted, but if you read about Rich Costey's produciton work on it in interviews, it's like "fucking hell, that's a lot of work for a few songs!" Muse and Costey - Geniuseseses.

stuff like the electronic beat at the start of TIRO and the atmospheres created throughout - just awesome

@Pierrotechnique There are so many tihngs going on behind the scenes too, like Costey spent hours setting up Microphones around Matt's amp just to get the perfect sound, and for Sing for Absolution he scattered rusty nails accross the piano strings and miced them up to get that rattly, broken sound. Little details like that, and extra parts, beats and synths all blended together. Takes a talented bunch of people to get that amount of detail and texture to work, regardless of the musical style.

@Misishaxi yeah i know the feeling when i'm producing my own music, sometimes you have to be anal to no ends... and it's so obvious these guys take that attention to detail to another level. like all the ways they tried to record the intro footsteps of absolution, the finger snaps on tiro and during the resistance, sounds that you barely notice but that add so much character to a recording.

@Pierrotechnique Not to mention the entirely new vocal vocal and instrumental parts hidden away in the background of a song to give it more depth. Look up the instrumental of Sing for Absolution, should be here or on Grooveshark. I listened to that the other day and was like "shit, I never heard that..." or the synth parts that you definetly hear but never think about a lot. I'd love to hear instrumentals of their synth parts, so subtle and reserved in the background yet powerful and emotional
