I love the DAO with frags. Some people call it noobish, but its a very versatile and controllable weapon against the USAS. Got over 700 kills with the DAO.
Good Video I learned a lot. However I wish you would have distinguished the power between pump action and semi auto shotguns. Yes there is only one pump action shotgun in the game but it's power is unmatched in most situations. For instance I find the 870 with buckshot to be one of the most powerful loadings in shotguns and very capable out to medium and even sometimes long ranges.

I think the appeal of slugs is they are versatile at most ranges. While the frags are as well, the frags give away your position much more easily, usually require more rounds, and I think they are less accurate. I think they're more powerful than most rifle rounds as well.
This is possibly the best video I've seen concerning the shotgun, the description of the ammo, and use for the ammo. I didn't know flechette was a weapon used during Vietnam.
Haven't you ever noticed how no one ever seems to use the P90? I mean, I haven't unlocked it yet since I honestly don't play much but every video I found with people using it and the statistics behind it, it seems like a really great gun to use. However, when ever I actually do play I never see anyone using it.
I've started using the 870MCS recently. I quite like, and I've found that using it on a variety of maps, including more open ones, encourages me to think more about getting into position with the other team. As it'a close quarters weapon, you need to get up close to maximise the effect.
I unlocked the Explosive ammo yesterday, and OMG!!! I'm taking out enemy vehicles and getting very far range kills with it. Enemy chopper obove you? No problem, say hello to my little FRIEND!
although i havent tried them yet, im sure slugs would be a round to use on a map like Operation Firestorm where you can be dealing with enimies at both short and long ranges at the same time, since they would be effective at both
@DylanAdw - Oh and additionally, if you watch my videos and channel, you will know that I have stated on multiple occasions that I do not like to review weapons on the whole. This video was made at the requests of multiple subscribers, not my own personal choice.
I still stand by what I said that the USAS is something that can be used in a constructive and tactical way like any other weapon. However.... I encountered yesterday quite a ridiculous situation that involved an entire team using the USAS with frags on metro. We won the round, but it was something that is clearly becoming more of an epidemic. I will post the round up on my own channel with some commentary in the next few days. So be sure to check that one out. Its noobtastic.
I watch alot of vids and I gotta say this is well done and informative! I agree that shotguns can be great in certain situations, but for the most part are best used for a good chuckle!
I will have to try out the frag ammo more. I think its bitch yes, but it is the best all around round. In 4v4 they are great for holding down people with its suppression effect. I enjoyed the video. Very nice sir.
I really hate to be "that guy" but I can easily tell by the way the camera and aiming is handled that this is console gameplay. I would like to know how different each of the ammo types would perform when you factor in the higher accuracy and control you have with a mouse and keyboard.
I would imagine that slugs might perform a bit better and even frag rounds will be much more deadly when you factor in twitch.
@Yashoki you'll have to make the video yourself then. With the amount of people complaining that the video is so very different because its console play. Maybe I shouldnt continue creating them. Clearly people dont want to see console play, so maybe we can do without this series being produced if it doesnt meet peoples expectations.

hell if i would play the way you describe it in your video i would s*** so much, because of the simple fact that u will never ever get used to a certain weapon style... So I rly see no point in switching between so many weapons.. (2 Assault, 2 PDW, 1 Shotgun, 1-2 Sniper, 1 Lightmachine-gun, 1-2 pistoles)

Yea man lol I would be blown away. People have dead on accuracy on the PC. Take the instance where you get shot by the guy named iw-something. He's the guy with the m249 in metro. That's what happens to me. Alot. I'm not sure if its because of my ping. I didnt mean anything malevolent with my comment. I own no more consoles and am strictly a PC gamer now. My k/d in bad company 2 for both 360 and ps3 was above 2.0. I think I'm at 0.68 on bf3 for PC lol and I'm a level 46 or so.
Also to all the people saying you forget the M320 Buck and dart. I didnt forget them as with my MAV video I deliberately choose to leave somethings out because I dont consider them any use at all or as with the MAV I dont consider it acceptable gameplay. I left out the M320 versions because frankly they suck balls, and why would you ever take them when you already have a backup weapon, you could then take smoke or the normal M320. You already have 2 weapons taking a 3rd? Too many cooks........
I had never used shotguns before until I saw a guy on Metro doing what you said: using the full auto USAS with frag rounds and he was just destroying people. I was instantly like I WANT TO DO THAT >:D
@dudewithavideocamera yeah as I also said tho the only problem with it is that you will run out of ammo after facing about 2 people with that style of play. You can actually switch the USAS to single round fire, its much more effective to sit at medium range and pick off targets as its basically like having a 6 round M320

Good video, like all from Battlefieldo. Only one thing concerns me - what platform are you playing on? If the gameplay is from a PC, are you playing on easy mode? ;P I would literaly be dead x5 during the time this people need to react. If this scenes are from PS3 or X don't take this for a console hate. It's just shockig for me to observe. I'm playing a lot on random servers and if somebody pops up face to face it's always less than 1or 2 sec and one of us ends up dead ;) Keep up the good work!

You mentioned no real use for slugs. With the 870MCS, at a range of less than 10M, the slug does 100 damage which is a OHK to anything but the legs. This, combined with the fact that it can be used in ANY class makes it a usable combo.
It allows you to have a quick CQC weapon for aggressive gameplay. I have over 800 kills with the 870 in around 8hrs, and in over 200 hours of gameplay total I think it to be one of the finest weapons on offer. I just wish you could change rounds on the fly!!

i feel bad for console players. everything is so slow motion and ur so unaccurate theres nothing better and more accurate then aiming with a mouse. i feel like you guys are missing out on a greater experience not including the less number of players in a server
@sirdiealot53 yea but still aiming on pc is better and u can actually adjust to recoil where its harder to do so on console. plus you also strafe into the enemy with the scope/ironsight instead of aiming and locking on to an enemy
If you ever do a guide for how to best accomplish some of the assignments you should know you can use the repair tool on enemy equipment (mortors, spawn beacons, etc.) and it will count as a vehicle kill.
@bigred2989 that is a slightly glitchy but nonetheless amazing tip, everyone should know this one, because gaining that achievement can be a pain in the ass. Top Tip!!

Slugs were amazing in bfbc2 with the spas or neostead. In arica harbour because of the long street in the middle of the map. I usually chose the spas sluges over many LMGs.
I think DICE needs to increase the damage just a little but so that you can get a kill with 2 rounds in the head at any range like semi auto snipers.
well, this video has encouraged me to do two things I used to never do: 1. play TDM and 2. use shotguns in TDM. Probabaly just spam with em tho, cuz' I hate TDM
@swiftjusticee TDM is a random spam fest. Its good for unlocking attachments thats about all. Its good for testing out weapons etc as well because you have many targets that you can engage with quickly
I use the Remington 870. Slugs. Most effective and badass in my opinion. Classic, Powerful, Sexy, and noobs cant fire it off, as a child would a NERF gun....

I think that slugs are made to have a larger effective range than buckshot or flechette, without the risk of killing yourself with the frags.

Yea man lol I would be blown away. People have dead on accuracy on the PC. Take the instance where you get shot by the guy named iw-something. He's the guy with the m249 in metro. That's what happens to me. Alot. I'm not sure if its because of my ping. I didnt mean anything malevolent with my comment. I own no more consoles and am strictly a PC gamer now. My k/d in bad company 2 for both 360 and ps3 was above 2.0. I think I'm at 0.68 on bf3 for PC lol and I'm a level 46 or so.

Also to all the people saying you forget the M320 Buck and dart. I didnt forget them as with my MAV video I deliberately choose to leave somethings out because I dont consider them any use at all or as with the MAV I dont consider it acceptable gameplay. I left out the M320 versions because frankly they suck balls, and why would you ever take them when you already have a backup weapon, you could then take smoke or the normal M320. You already have 2 weapons taking a 3rd? Too many cooks........

I had never used shotguns before until I saw a guy on Metro doing what you said: using the full auto USAS with frag rounds and he was just destroying people. I was instantly like I WANT TO DO THAT >:D

@dudewithavideocamera yeah as I also said tho the only problem with it is that you will run out of ammo after facing about 2 people with that style of play. You can actually switch the USAS to single round fire, its much more effective to sit at medium range and pick off targets as its basically like having a 6 round M320

Good video, like all from Battlefieldo. Only one thing concerns me - what platform are you playing on? If the gameplay is from a PC, are you playing on easy mode? ;P I would literaly be dead x5 during the time this people need to react. If this scenes are from PS3 or X don't take this for a console hate. It's just shockig for me to observe. I'm playing a lot on random servers and if somebody pops up face to face it's always less than 1or 2 sec and one of us ends up dead ;) Keep up the good work!

You mentioned no real use for slugs. With the 870MCS, at a range of less than 10M, the slug does 100 damage which is a OHK to anything but the legs. This, combined with the fact that it can be used in ANY class makes it a usable combo.
It allows you to have a quick CQC weapon for aggressive gameplay. I have over 800 kills with the 870 in around 8hrs, and in over 200 hours of gameplay total I think it to be one of the finest weapons on offer. I just wish you could change rounds on the fly!!

i feel bad for console players. everything is so slow motion and ur so unaccurate theres nothing better and more accurate then aiming with a mouse. i feel like you guys are missing out on a greater experience not including the less number of players in a server

@sirdiealot53 yea but still aiming on pc is better and u can actually adjust to recoil where its harder to do so on console. plus you also strafe into the enemy with the scope/ironsight instead of aiming and locking on to an enemy

If you ever do a guide for how to best accomplish some of the assignments you should know you can use the repair tool on enemy equipment (mortors, spawn beacons, etc.) and it will count as a vehicle kill.

I for one like Luetin's voice. He sounds like the relaxed history teacher you always listened to, even though you weren't paying full attention, because he explained everything carefully and always had interesting and intriguing stories to tell. Slugs were amazing in bfbc2 with the spas or neostead. In arica harbour because of the long street in the middle of the map. I usually chose the spas sluges over many LMGs.
I think DICE needs to increase the damage just a little but so that you can get a kill with 2 rounds in the head at any range like semi auto snipers.

@swiftjusticee TDM is a random spam fest. Its good for unlocking attachments thats about all. Its good for testing out weapons etc as well because you have many targets that you can engage with quickly
