  • Is the same body size as the es 339 ? thanks, amazing sound !!! bélo

  • @BELOROYAN Cheers. Yes, same body size. I tried both before getting the 356 which just had the feel and sound for me.

  • I guess someone just accidentally clicked on the dislike button! :)) No one, yes, no one is worthy to dislike this! :D

  • Hi. I really like your playing and tone. Great work.

Btw, are you the reviewer on harmony central that said that the 80x has less mids than the cube 20? Because I keep hearing that the 80x is a mids monster. But I love huge amounts of mids, so it works anyways. Thanks!

  • @123rushfan1 Thanks. Yes, I think that was my review of the 80x. It has high mid which I could not tame. The 20x has a fuller more neutral mid on the tube drive setting but it could be down to what suits the cs-356 which is quite bright.

  • @PD3withDP

sorry bout the late reply and thanks for the info

btw sorry I think i accidently voted down your reply!

  • R U getting the 80XL ?

i sold both the 30x and 80x and ordered the 80XL

  • I like your tone and am considering buying one of these amps. The only thing that bums me out is that the reverb and delay were from Logic. I want that reverb live! Can you foot control from clean (w/ chorus ) to overdrive without chorus? i.e. Metheny to Carlton type tones with one touch of a footswitch? It would be nice to run 2 of these in stereo with a TC GMajor if you could control the amps with one footswitch (splitter maybe)

  • @intune1234 I think you will have to hop on two switches to get what your after. Four if you want to run stereo unless you make custom switches. I'm now using a Boss ME-70 which I will post a video of soon. Similar sounds but more controllable and easy to run stereo and better (stereo) chorus and verb. You could easily do it with this using memories.

  • Very smooth yet strong playing! The melody that the guitar produce sounds a like a singer from time to time. The feeling is all over the song and makes you get inside and daydream good memories. I love it

  • I just ordered a 80x today. I currently have the 30x. These amps have to be the BEST SS amps out there ! It was nice to revisit this video. I really like this song. Are you a Robin Ford fan ?

  • @motokev i agree, i just got mine, the modeling technology is way better sounding than line 6, i got the flextone 3 and its just very wooly sounding, best ss amp??? by a mile id say!

  • DAMN! That is one hell of a tone from the Cube 80x! I've got one and it's really great. But can you give me any tips on getting nice tones like that? :)

  • Amazing piece !!!!!!! Really good lots of feeling. -Alejandro

  • Very musical, it breeezes like a cool summer sunset :-) Well done.

  • great tone!

  • Hey Pete is it Ok for me to add this in some of my solos. I really like your style i can learn a lot from you.

  • Very nicely done, good sir.

  • hey man great feel and soloing. Very gary moore like style.I think it will benefit you alot if incoperate more of Jazziness in your playing. Like targeting certine tensions. Great work in overall I recomend to listen to Paul Jackson Jr. alboum still small voice. Youll like. Cheers

  • Great song and tone, have just recently found your work out here and am enjoying it. Do you have guitar TAB available for any of your music?

  • Awesome tune!!!! You've got so much talent! Also loved the tone. That's why I'm gonna save some money to buy this amp. Keep on rocking, man. you're just GREAT!

  • Hello, what a great sound !!! ... and what feeling !

are you using the ampli simply without other pedals ? the same sound by HP?

Thank's for this vidéo and for your response !

  • Hi. Thanks. Glad you like the tune. No additional pedals were used and no amp digital effects were used. Just the amp's Classic Stack preamp. The delay and reverb were added in Logic recording software on mixdown.

  • @PD3withDP just got an 80x due to your demo, i am a rock, blues guy dipping my toe into jazz and needed a nice jazz tone, cant get it outa my present amp so i got one of these new for £170, great price, great tone, great demo!!! thanks loads.your a great advert. bye the way can you recommend any nice jazzy pickups i could stick in my epi 335, th enecks a bit wooly sounding? thanks

  • @strabbs1 Glad you like the track. For the Epi335 I'd suggest either the Gibson '57 or Duncan Seymour Jazz humbucker. The '57 is on the Gibson 335. The duncan has a slight high mid boost for clarity.

  • Thanks. It was based on the Marshall emulation (classic stack). Don't remember exact eq but I think they were all set low

  • awesome!

  • Hi from Tony in Tenerife. :)

  • Hi Tony!

  • Man, what BEAUTIFUL PLAYING !!!

U most likely have this amp mic'd ?

  • Thanks very much. Amp is not mic'd. I used the record/headphones output.

  • I suppose I should ask for tabs as well?

  • Hi ublacks. Very flattered that you like the song enough to learn it. I'm afraid I don't supply backing tracks and I haven't done a tab yet. If I do get round to it I'l let you know.

    Thanks again.

  • Hey PD. I love your song. I am trying to learn it. Is there a way to get the backing track to practice along with?

  • Wow, that's a superb tone there mate. I've got a Cube 60 and was dead keen to try an 80x mainly becauseof all the extra features, but then I heard it didn't quite have the guts of the 60 and seemed worse on the dirty tones. But having heard that you really have to be careful of how you use the tone controls and this demonstration I'm really keen to try one for myself.

Really nice edgy but warm tone there, nice playing too!

  • Cheers. I guess the speaker is the biggest difference between the 60 and 80x. I tried the 80x at a gig and it had plenty of guts. I bet an extension speaker would give it even more but I've not tried it.

  • first off all great sounding music ... love ur guitar playin

  • what settings did you have the 80x on for this?

  • Hi. It was based on the Marshall emulation. Don't remember exact eq but I think they were all set low

  • Love your playing great sound to!!

  • Hey Pete...you won't remember me, but we met an a music expo once. Great guitar playing here...incredibly sensitive and tasteful. Where can I buy the CD? :-D

A question: Have you ever tried playing your cube through a separate cabinet? I have a friend who runs his Cube 30X through a 4X12 cab loaded with Celestion G12H-80's. And it sounds SO good that it's truly hard to believe.

  • Hi. Thanks for your comments. The cube 20x does not have the facility to run an extra cab so I slave it through a Mackie powered pa speaker at gigs. I actually exchanged the 80x for the pa speaker 'cause I preferred the 20x sound.

  • cool tune. i thought i was on the beach whilst listening. Thinking of Olivia newton-john naked, rubbing cream into my thighs.... mmmmm.

  • Not far away from perfection...

    You're a great guitar player

  • Wow you're a great guitar player!

  • heyy

you teach my mate, tom Fautley, nice work!!

    really great playing!!

  • Thanks.

  • which one do you prefer? the 20x or 80x?

  • I actually prefer the 20x. It has the right sound for me. I've exchanged the 80x for a Mackie active speaker to slave the 20x into. The 80x is a good amp, just not the sound I want.

  • very excellent guitar' playing, and great sound !! i'm play' on the cube 60, with gibson burstbuckers pro pickups, this amp, is excellent ...good job my friend !!!

  • That was great. Thanks for the cry...

I hope to be that good someday.

  • Wow the new oland cube 80x is sooo goood ...and the guitar playing is awsomeee 5 stars from meee :D..

    wow so good
