FF to today. WTF happened?????????!?! For real. Shit.... Wasn't music supposed to get better as time goes on?? all this amazing advanced 'state of the art' computer technology, yet...........
@ Pacmannic and @ Kenjamcla1973. MTV does suck now. My kid is only 5, so she's not into music videos yet. It will break my heart when she starts watching that garbage they show now. I will probably ban MTV and BET from her channel lists.
@yerkeskid OMGoodness, how the "M" in MTV has fallen off and now stands for MESS as in hot arss MESS Television!!!! My kids (15, 12) don't believe me when I tell them that MTV used to ONLY play videos!!! They were dumbfounded, lol. Damn shame!!
Yeah...I'm 17 and one day my mom asked what channel MTV was on. I decided to let her see for herself what had happened to that station. What a horrible joke on my part. :/ Someone needs to make a legitimate MTV again.
The 80's are the best decade for Music and Song artists like Huey Lewis and many of the best Legends of Music thanks for the upload and making me Remember the 80's again.. I saw Huey Lewis and His gang at Fallsview Casino this year,Totally Awesome!!
I would like to have a sexual stalker..He must have a big weener and have an Australlian accent,LOL!!!!!! Oh and the song and video are great!! Always loved this band!!! Timeless!!
I love Huey Lewis and the News, they came to our little town of Lubbock Texas, twice in my life time and I want them to come back and treat us to all of the great songs that they sing. Huey sings with such magic and feeling that makes me want to see him more and more. What can I say but this is the best group I have ever heard then and now!!!!!
The 80's will always live with us cause Us the fans and the generation that grow up with this music will always remember this is what Music will always be and forever..Long live the 80"s and Huey Lewis,See you Guys in Niagara Falls on June 11th and 12th,2009!!
although the times in the 80s were seemingly care-free and more innocent, we will always be able to look back and say that as the world further industrializes, and society gradually homogenizes to a point at which culture is an even spread worldwide. i'm not sure if i was born for these times. the past held such a rich tapestry of musical and cultural revolutions + i'm afraid the world is going in a dreary direction. music on the other hand is better than you'd think. ask me for recommendations!
i understand your feelings, i had felt the same way before (like many people i knew) except for us, we all wished to live in the sixties. i guess there is always a facination for what was laid before. You are probably interested in history is my guess. Its kind of funny, but i am sure the unborn will look back at today and wish to be alive now, darn it though i dont have a clue as to why, too many problems these days
Very, very true. I am so interested in the eighties because of the music, such a legend! Today's music is just noise.. And I'm thirteen years old and agree with that. Also the outfits were so awesome, I was Madonna on Halloween just so I could dress in an 'eighties style'. Life seemed so much care free and the world was a better place. Am I right?
yes i do believe you are right, especially about the carefree part. it does seem that society is really uptight about everything these days in comparison to the 80s and getting more uptight all the time, even having fun has become uptight these days, if you dont dance just the right way you are a loser, if you dont wear the right sunglasses while going to the beach you are a loser, if you dont ride the right motorcycle ect. ect. I mean there was always fashion and crazes, but now its insane
anyways good for you, good to see you are marching to the beat of your own drum and not being spoon fed the usual garbage, remember you will be tomorrows adults
Totally agree, I just feel I would have fit in much better in the 80's. I love the cars, I love the music, the fashion, etc. And you know what else? I wouldn't even miss the technology we have now!! I do not like the direction music is headed in these days..... do you ever find yourself picturing yourself in the 80's and wishing you were there?? One can only wish.....!!!!!
Well except for all the guerrilla conflicts going on and the Threat of Nuclear war and drugs on the streets. Pop culture was defiantly more positive and fun though
Oooooooooh Man this is just the typical American music sound of the 80s !! Soo great.....Brilliantly produced, not too slick, just right. A TRUE CLASSIC.
i work in a shopping mall and theres a hairdresser right across from my store and right now im looking over at the finest woman u have ever seen, while listening to this song...Perfect!!!!!!!
That would be hilarious if she got on youtube and read that comment right after her shift. Then tomorrow she will be hiding behind somehing while cutting hair.
Two questions 1st question witch song came first this one or E.L.O.s sweet talkin' woman ? 2nd question why is the woman in this video fast asleep when she really should be awake thinking why am i in bed with Hughie lewis and the news?
ELO came first! Funny, I bought this on EP and was playing it to my daughter and pointing out how similar it was to ELO! She loves all that verse and response stuff!
Cheers!! now type in hughie lewis and the news I Wanna New Drug, but don't look at any of the posts underneath & tell me what other song it reminds you of. Hue's been a naughty boy then!!
Yeach me too i wish i would know more about music when i was little but i am older now and i know some music from the 80s and 90s. ..Give me life in the 80s anyday over 2009. While Mrs T and Reagan had their faults, nothing can compare to the bloody awful situation this country is in thanks to 12 years of New Labour. At least Mrs T had a backbone and was respected the world over..unlike Blair and Brown...and if you're expecting Obama to change the world for the better, don't hold your breath....
